I see everyome naming players to replace Herrera and how many players are needed but at this speed not a lot is going to happen we are nearly ready to fly out for pre season and we still need ...
GK if De Gea goes
CB
DM
AM
RW don't think James will be our no1 just yet
ST if Lukaku goes

Can anyone see us signing half these? Because I cant

Now Rodri is off the market we should go for Fabian Ruiz. He played a good season with Neapel and an amazing U21 EM. I think he is nearly as good as Rodri and for sure he wont be cheap. But I cant see is fighting for top 4 with McTominay and Longstaff.

Reluctantly i'll do it. For half of what Sanchez earns, i'll look twice as active.

Now that Tielemans, Rabiot, N'Dombele and Barella (if he goes to Inter) are not in the transfer market. What do you think about Van de Beek?

Herrera was not a starter for us. So we need a team player for his position. Lemina's okay for me

I'm quite sure there will be no one signed to replace him. They probably see Fred as that guy.

Think Van De Beek could be a good shout but I think we should move fast as there were rumours that Real were after him, not sure how much substance there are in them though.

Not sure if he's been mentioned but I think (judging by your links) you could do worse than getting Matuidi as part of the Pogba deal.

Yes he's 32 but he still gets around the pitch fine and didn't have injury issues Schweinsteiger did. Always thought he was underrated and he played well for France last summer.

Think he could be short term fix while some of the youth attempt to step up.

The Juve 8 we needed to get in a Pogba deal is Bentancur, but he signed an extension today so that won't be happening. Athletic, smart and hard-working. Some potential going forward, and they have Rabiot, Ramsey and Pjanic already so Pogba going there would make him #5 in the pecking order.

Would like to take Dybala, Sandro and Costa deal in exchange I read about a few weeks ago if there is any truth in it. Although signing Matuidi would go against Ole's policy of signing younger players I totally agree with the part in bold and think this could work.

There are a few left out there, but my favourite would have been Ndombele.
I do like Savic, or Partey.
I would also have like Ndombele and have been saying it for a while. Can't comment on Savic as I haven't seen him play. I agree with you on Partey decent player, good age and available for amazing price. Think we should be all over this transfer.

Someone, anyone, please.
My head is done in right now. Grass is greener syndrome is really hard to shake after doing the rather simple math for the following midfield trio available this summer:

Ramsey - Tielamens - Rabiot
$0+$35+$0

Versus what were apparently in for:

Lemina - Longstaff - Bruno/SMS/Saul
$15 + $35 + $50-$100

Why is that funny? Bruno won't cost 100 and the free players you mentioned wouldn't want to join us. Can't blame the club for that (except for its abysmal state due to previous seasons).

For all we know it could turn out as follows;

Lemina - Wijnaldum/Sissoko-level and hence better than Tielemans
Longstaff - realizing his potential to become Carrick level
Bruno - hit or miss, potentially Bernardo Silva level

There are plenty of players in todays squad that can play Herreras position, which normally would be No8: Fred, McT, Lingard for example. Even Mata. If we sign Bruno Fernandes there is another one.
The thing with Herrera is that he was the only one that could play at No6 when required by Matic absence. If anyone remembers, Mourinho even played Fellaini at No6 a number of times last season.
Both Herrera and Fellaini are gone now and we are severely lacking at the DM/No6 position.
Which is not Herreras best position but the one where we are hurt the most by him leaving.
I am very surprised that we dont seem to be looking at a more defensive and maybe even experienced DM. That would have been my first addition to this squad.
As things stand now we are looking at Matic clocking major minutes this season. Again. Until he gets hurt or something. And one can really argue if he is good enough to begin with.
Again: very surprised that we are only being linked with offensive midfielders.

McTominay is going to take that spot and rotate with Fred there. A replacement for Matic is more necessary this summer.

We seem to be playing a 4231. If Pogba is one of the 2, the other one will hopefully be either Mctominay, Andreas or Fred.

Does Matic get in in front of them? I wouldn't say so. Another midfielder is needed but I would say a ACM/#10 is priority over a #6. If we play a 433 at some point this season then I would agree with you. Matic should be the first one to be upgraded.!

Agree with the part in bold. I also think that we should have brought in a defensive midfielders as Matic legs have gone. It would concern me if Matic gets a lot of minutes which he could do. I think he should only play against the top 6, I think we can expect a decent performance out of him at full intensity once in a while but definitely not regularly.

What about Tom Davies from Everton? Seems to be an all action guy, who can press. Maybe less defensive than Herrera but potentially with more silk to him. Maybe a bit too many young players with potential though, and would be too expensive if he is even attainable. Think he could play a part already though.

We'd be quoted 100m for him. No thanks.

I'm happy to see McTominay stepping up in our team. We didn't replace Herrera/Fellaini but we have young players who can take this opportunity.

Besides Mctominay, I would like to see a bit more of Gomes.

Should be Marc Roca. He's agreed terms with Bayern Munich but they're dilly dallying about paying his release clause (link). We should've swooped in and nabbed him. Only £30 odd million in sterling. Oh well, by the end of this window he'll probably be in Bavaria.
