Only making this prediction because my predictions almost always end up being wrong: Liverpool will finally win the league
Are you predicting that your prediction will go wrong again, though?

My predictions for this season are this:

We will start the season relatively well, and with a little confidence (new seasons do that), but because we are still in desperate need of a striker who can actually put the ball in the net on a consistent basis, we will eventually start drawing those games, and then start losing those games we would expect to win, or were scraping a win from early on in the season.

Why? Because - and this has been happening for a few seasons now - when we fail to put the ball in the net (and we do get the chances) there is a momentum shift in our play/game, and as the game progresses, the opposition starts to realise we are there for the taking, and start countering us more, which in turn leads to us panicking, and then for the last 20 minutes of the game we are defending for our lives; this then starts to affect the confidence of the team, players start becoming disillusioned, and we return to chaos - which in turn then starts to affect the manager's future tactics; casting him with doubt.

Why? Because we do not take our chances, and we have strikers who miss far too many chances, and sitters. We need to fix that problem, together with a defensive midfielder who can do his actual job - Matic is not that man. If we don't, teams will continue to walk through us, and as we have failed to score, the results start to becoming negative.

I have seen this scenario happen for far too long at OT. You sense it in the crown around you. It's almost a 'oh here we go' moment. It needs to stop, but we need to plug the gaps in order to achieve that.

We will finish 5/6th, and City will walk it. Liverpool 2nd, Spurs 3rd.

Liverpool will win the league.
Ole will be sacked before end of the season.
We will finish outside top 6.
Our defence will be better but we will not score enough. Worse than last 2 years.

This is me being extremely hopeful but:

The league will be pressured to pull back on the use of VAR after one season. God help us if they don’t.

Let's have some bold predictions for the 2019/20 season. United or anybody else. Here's a chance to be creative with breakout players, comeback players or whatever you like. Just a bit of fun no need to be so serious.

My predictions -

Alexis to find some old form and play more of a part in our season than expected scoring 15 goals in all comps.

Spurs to finish in the top 2.
A good call on this thread, nice to indulge a bit of fun amidst the seriousness.
Given a new mgr and a fresh page with fresh ideas all players should be considered and given the chance to earn their keep and a starting spot. I advocated keeping Young and Mata, there experienced, low maintenance who will do what is asked of them, Juan is amongst the most intelligent players, finding space in tight pockets with imagination to play and get in behind which I wish Martial would develop instead of ball to feet all the time, he could widen the scope of his game to open up space for others.

Sanchez I agree, had a good Copa and even through the middle as a false 9, Firmino Style, 12-15 goals would be nice. Uncle Fred is the one who interests me most, where is his best position, a pivot or instead of Ander, has agility, good sharp pass and have seen him break the lines, make or break time for Freddy!

Cant see past City, they are a pleasure to watch and Cancelo looks an exciting addition, Rodrigo very nice player, forward balls on the deck to feet and their midfield is away. Spurs dark horses for that second spot and certainly best of the rest after City and Pool.

Arsenal top heavy, but a defender and there well in it, Chelsea losing Hazard is no joke but as happens with Coutinho - they lost creativity but gained efficiency, and Lampard cant be written off, he did a good job at Derby and is back home like Ol'e. They have a very tidy midfield if Frank can get them on side. I'm keeping tabs on T. Abraham, providing he gets minutes, 12 plus goals is a respectable start.

Dan James I feel will play a larger role than we perhaps foresee and Mr Greenwood could be the breakout man.

TOP 4, league cup, great season, solid springboard to build on. Looking for purposeful, penetrative identity that's enjoyable to watch

Utd!

City will win a third league in a row. Spurs second. Liverpool third. Us or Arsenal 4th. Chelsea will start well but fade badly, Lampard will not be sacked though.
Juve or City to win the CL. PSG to reach the final and lose.
We will crash out of Europa in the first knockout stage.
Wolves to have a poor season.
Record for most goals in a game will be broken.
Atletico will win La Liga, Juve will win Serie A, Dortmund to win Bundesliga and PSG to be taken to the wire by Lyon.
VAR cancels out a last minute winner in a derby and the other team end up scoring.

Everton to surprise everyone and take top 4 challenge right to the wire

Wolves to fade away to mid table

Spurs and arsenal fighting it out for 3rd

City win the league easier this year.

West Ham to make the final of one of the cups

Newcastle to go down

Pogba leaves on the last day of the European window and Mctominay is out injured for season. Left with Matic and Fred to fill the boots. Maguire gets injured too and Jones starts 30 games.

We finish 10th conceding 50 plus goals again. Ole keeps his job, Ed promises money in the 20/21 window.

Greenwood to score 10 league goals, Gomes starts at least 10 games.

De Gea POTY.

We'll start great and optimistic resulting in praise from both the media and fans, United are back! A couple of months in the season we'll suffer a few injuries and we'll go in a game thinking we're superior and play nonchalant and without intention resulting in "shock" defeat against an "inferior" team. Our mentally weak players will start hanging their heads, like they've done in previous seasons. This will trigger a avalanche and well drop 50% of the points in the games that follow at the same time getting knocked out of one or two cups. Resulting in a fight for 3rd or 4th place and the EL as our chance for success. End of season we'll most likely finish 4th or 5th, hopefully with Ole keeping his job.

Liverpool fall back this season, unable to build on last season after running themselves into the ground.

Chelsea will have an excellent season, still challenging for the title after Christmas, doing well in CL and FA Cup.

Another Moyes season for Man United. Chelsea too;out in the group stage in CL.

City to win CL or Liverpool to win PL.

De Gea to become a sweeper keeper who is good his feet.

Wolves getting further than United in the Europa League.

We realise we're not much better defensively & playing out from the back than the previous years.

DDG will win Golden Glove but more credit to Maguire. Just like last season's Allison and VVD.
Gabriel Jesus will score more goals than Aguero.
Yaya Toure to join West Ham United.

Pogba will get his first yellow card of the season in his first game

Matic will get his 5th yellow card in 35th week

We will end up having the 2nd highest throw-in stats in the league.

Chelsea don't win anything or finish top four but Roman doesn't doesn't sack the manager.

I'll find a girlfriend.

3 out of 4 isn't bad, I just wish Gomes had been given a proper chance when we were desperate for some creativity before Christmas.
