I don't understand why people think Lingard will play loads, regardless of his form. Either he gets lots of game time because he's playing well, or he will be dropped, Solskjaer is not an idiot.
Other than a few youngsters coming in we have very few options in his positions. Young was playing virtually every game last season, and we got reminded why whenever we put Dalot in the team and he was even worse. I remember everyone clamouring for Perrera to get games last year until we actually saw him play.

I expect Lingard to improve from last season (not that that's hard) and he might end up getting 10-12 goals, but most of them will come in a purple patch of form. He'll still be annoyingly inconsistent.

Managers > RedCafe
Having professional experience don't make them always right, they make mistakes too. SAF loved Welbeck, for example, who was always shit. Van Gaal got rid, no one ever missed him and now he's a bench warmer at Watford. If Ole or other show the balls, It'll be the same with Lingard, because he's equally and clearly not good enough, never has been and never will.

When multiple managers pick a player they see train everyday they are right and RedCafe is wrong.

He makes that space for Pogba. Critical aspect, if you ask me. Pogba plays deep because he has that range of passing to be in complete command while Lingard rags the defenders hard.
Any player in the no.10 role by default will 'make space' because he's literally meant to be infront of them!

Either way it doesn't matter if he makes space or movement because there has to be end product for it. I'm not talking about just goals or assists.

Do he play link up play for our strikers/wider attackers? No. Do he play neat one-twos with our midfield and give them an option? Not particularly. Do he get involve and dictate possession for us? No.

He's more interested in scoring goals for himself and driving at the defence than play in those pockets of space and stretching play with channel runs or good passing.

He's being busy sure and he might make the opposition think twice but he's not bringing enough quality to justify starting there.

I'm sure he'll tear up Chelsea now on Sunday having said all that.

If Ole is planning for Lingard to be a key player then we are done for the season. Ole should play Gomes, Greenwood, and even Mata ahead of Lingard. If not, he might be out of a job and quick.

I would love to be proved wrong, but Lingard is a shit player and if we depend on him our season will be gone in a blink.

Why? Because you know less than real managers? Sorry if the truth hurts.
When multiple managers pick a player they see train everyday they are right and RedCafe is wrong.
Because it can't go wrong. These are players who were picked by SAF, Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho and Ole. Oh, I forgot Smalling. What's wrong? We could compete in the league with them, maybe if we bring Fellaini back.

Wrong. Cannot be bothered to go through the individual cases but you can have your opinion, at this point I don't care.

I can see why Lingard gets picked, it’s easy to just call him shite because that’s the bandwagon.

That doesn't sound like Lingard at all.

It's not exactly rocket science as to why Lingard gets picked... he gets picked because we are utterly starved of quality alternatives. He is an incredibly limited player; whether he is picked by managers or not (in a largely middling attack) is irrelevant - they pick him because they have to.
Managers > RedCafe
Ahh yes, this classic one. The managers are always right... Unless, of course, YOU disagree with them. So really it's only managers > redcafe to the extent that your opinion echoes that of the manager. If your opinions differ, you then disagree with the managers, and suddenly the managers are fallible...

If your logic is that managers know more than fans, then you don't get to pick and choose when you agree/disagree with managers. I wonder if a trawl through your earlier posts show you ever disagreeing with managers...

Oh my days. Article on BBC website with Rashford and ‘JLingz’ titled...who has the more swagger - best dressed baller.

Not a chance I’m reading that dross

I’m starting to have a real dislike for Lingard and fear Rashford is going the same way.

Another underwhelming season from Lingard and I’d hope that’s the final nail in his coffin

Hope AWB stays clear of these two and doesn’t get drawn in by the idiotic hand shakes, dabs and whatever else a ‘baller’ might do

This senseless blind faith in one man's decisions is what got us into this mess in the first place. Lingard's place is on the bench somewhere in Blackpool

Because he scored and assisted in his United career as much as Sterling during last season only. No hard feelings here how is that so difficult to understand for some is beyond me.

Had exactly the same reaction. How does this article exist? Is it just their individual PR teams trying to raise their media profiles?

Best thing they could do is cut out all this extra media crap, stay behind at Carrington to do extra training (like Beckham Ronaldo etc used to do) and focus on their performances. Both of them have massive seasons in front of them.

Its not an article, its a web series or some shit. Presented by fame desperadoes that the bbc thinks are representative of todays youth(which they may well be). It doesnt really matter who they used in the head to head, its cringe as feck regardless. Typical of the BBC trying to be "hip". One of them is an "influencer", so that should tell you all you need to know about the kind of people making this.

It doesnt look like lingrad or rashford had anything to do with it, thank feck.

The irony of having Beckham in the same sentence as an example to follow when you want another player to do less media.

Sorry couldn't resist :)

He gets called shit cause he is. His stats are horrendous for an attacking player. No top team would start him or want to depend on him. His strength are all things without the ball, which is a joke for an attacking player. He is 27 now and never made that step up whilst we have talented young players that sit on the bench or move on for free next summer. If Ole counts on him, he is bound to lose out. If he were not a local boy, there is no chance he would get the same support with those performances

I've ripped into him this week but have to put my hands up and say he proved me wrong today. Great second half.

That's his one decent game per season out of the way then. Didn't score or assist and had fewer touches than the goalkeeper in the first half but that's good enough for some here

It's very hard to judge him, first half he wasn't good and second half he looked good when you watch the game. End of the day he didn't create anything but his pressing and off the ball work looked good.

He had a decent game and had a part in the goals but eventually a better footballer needs to be playing for Manchester United.

He works hard.. cant complain about that.

The unsung hero today.

Gets so much hate, but was quality today. If he can keep this level, he will be a very useful player this season.

He impressed at the WC for England at the end of the day. Can't be that bad.
