I remember there was another Park one about when Mourinho's dog went missing to the Fergie Wonderland chant. It was something like:

Mourinho, are you listening
We know your dog went missing
We heard him bark,
We fed him to Park,
Sizzling in a stir-fry pan

I remember being at OT in the late 60s or early 70s at a match against Citeh.

Summerbee was flagged offside, which led to 60,000 people singing

Yer nose was offside, Yer nose was offside

EE-AY-ADDIO

Yer nose was offside.

"DVDs" and "three for a fiver" are comments based on stereotypes. "You eat dogs in your own country" is a comment based on fact. One is intended to offend, the other is not. One minimizes the target to a stereotype, the other does not. It's probably not something Koreans like to broadcast - that people in their B country eat dog - but it's hardly the same as saying you must sell DVDs because you're Asian. I'm Korean, and I originally cringed when hearing the Park chant, but I'm not quite sure that it's racist. It isn't politically correct, that's for sure, but I'm not sure it comes from a belief that white people are superior to Asians (which would make it racist).

Personally, I don't like the chant. Pointing out that Koreans eat dog may be factual, but many hearing that would disagree with it, and hence make a judgement that it is wrong. It's not difficult to see how this may offend many Koreans (both dog eating and non dog eating) even if it doesn't offend the Korean poster that I quoted above, although it clearly embarrassed him.

Ole's at the wheel is an unacceptable chant IMV. It was fine during his honeymoon period. But now it feels cringeworthy and to be including Sanchez and Fred is laughable.

Surely people can come up with a new one for a new team.

Tell me how good does it feel
We’ve got Ole at the wheel
He’s benched Matic and Sanchez and Fred
We’d rather play Greenwood instead

Very good :D Might be a bit of a morale downer for the players though.

that one was a lot worse than the Park chant, definite racist undertones
They were undertones in the same way a bowl of soup with a bottle of Tabasco dumped in it has "undertones of Tabasco".

There will be a Korean person that thinks it’s absolutely terrible too. Not everything has to please that person though.
Mildly offensive can be comical at the end of the day. That’s kinda the point.

One of the worst I can remember hearing at OT was from some Chelsea fans singing something like "You should've died in that tunnel" at Ronaldo after he crashed his car a few days before - anyone else remember that?

The worst I've heard is the Adebayor one. It's always worse as well coming from opposition fans as it's intended as an insult rather than endearment.

Everyone's offended by something these days, I was thinking walking around like Charlie Chaplin was the answer but I'm sure you can get offended by gestures as well so this shits not gonna stop.

I remember when Andy Goram went public with his mental health issues and revealed he'd been diagnosed with schizophrenia (bi-polar nowadays I guess) and for the rest of his career he was followed by the chant..

"There's only two Andy Gorams"

Definitely sometimes it is OTT but I wouldn't dismiss people being offended as a bad thing. It means people are more aware and being emphatic. Sure it's 'annoying' now that we have to actually think twice before what we say and be more mindful but ultimately it is for the better.

Sometimes it's not that 'people weren't as offended back in the days', it's more we're now hearing, listening to other voices and actually taking note. 20 years ago we would say sexist stuff and assume gender superiority over women like nothing. We would say 'that's gay' like nothing.

Today we know that absolutely isn't right and some people take that as an attack on their freedom/insecurity and call it ridiculous when they can't comprehend that their opinion (despite what emotional 'sincerity' behind it) doesn't fecking matter or is just plain offensive.

Also remember the spurs chant after Campbell went to Arsenal. Sol described the abuse as a human rights situation and said people would be arrested if they said it to someone in the streets - he was dead fecking right, it was disgraceful.

Sol Sol Wherever you may be,
You're on the verge of lunacy,
And we won't give a feck when you're hanging from a tree,
You judas cnut with HIV.

Being an imported person myself I don't find the Park chant offensive at all. It's meant in good spirit. But if anything it would be more fitting as a Dong chant (China).

How about a Harry Maguire chant to Kings Of Leon ‘Sex on Fire’ but change ‘Sex On Fire’ to ‘Harry Maguire’!

Obviously needs some work if you want verses etc. but you the general idea!

.....or perhaps something to Light My Fire
Cmon cmon Harry Maguire
Try to set the match on fire
Sounds not bad.

They are childish and pathetic just like the people who sing them .

People who are supposed to be adult yet defend singing tasteless chants.

If you think it's OK then stand up in your office or where ever you work and start yelling those chants and see what happens

I think you have missed the point which is that adults sometimes want to escape from the responsibility of work and being an adult and have some fun and an amising sing song. You must be a right laff to be with

It’s ok to yell feck off to the ref or an opposing player, or swear in excitement over something good happening, yet not okay to stand up and yell in the workplace. I see that your “logic” is not limited to just one thread.

The Park chant made the comedy stage with Omid Djalili using it. It went down a storm at the Hay Festival.

The Lukaku cock chant wouldn't have though. It was cringeworthy

And what about nicknames? The "Big Mac" is more sensitive than slabhead.

Why quote what I actually said when you can just make up your version ?

With simple deductive reasoning, you would see that I was using a counter example to invalidate the logic in the actual thing you’ve said.

One dark night, when we were all in bed
Old Ed Woodward signed a mighty slabbed head
And with the crowd at Old Trafford, he winked his eye and said, there'll be a clean sheet for the back line tonight
Maguire!
Maguire!
Maguire!

The worst one I ever heard was Feyenoord fans chanting "Louis, waar is je kankerwijf?" (Louis, where's your cancerbitch?) to Ajax coach Van Gaal, after his wife had died.

There are definitely worse than the Park one for offensiveness.

I’d say the Dalglish one is in pretty poor taste. Singing about Shinji’s Grandad bombing Pearl Harbour is bad...

The one about Fernando Torres looking like a transvestite etc. is pretty homophobic.

Any chant aimed at Phil Thompson's nose was unacceptable to ordinary big noses.
