It's clear we are trying to emulate liverpool's style of play . As much as i dislike Ince he isnt wrong here .

Since Ole came in he has made us fitter and he obviously likes how Klopp makes Liverpool play snd is looking to do similar . Nothing wrong with that it's better than trying to emulate Peps style at City
Oh wait, you're serious.

Is it?

Trying to make a team fitter doesn't mean you're trying to copy Liverpool. Manchester City are super fit, as are we. Pretty much all the successful premier league teams play high tempo football and have high levels of fitness. This existed pre-Klopp, he didn't set some kind of trend when he arrived in the league.

There are a number of differences between the way you play and the way Liverpool play. You have very different wingbacks, your midfield functions very differently with Pogba there instead of more workmanlike players, and whilst you both play with pace in attack (who doesn't?) Liverpool go with a striker who plays much deeper and is there to support Salah/Mane. There are obviously similarities but that's just because football right now has trends which all the top teams follow.

It's not copying . Its football you are not going to copy exactly another's team style but you are obviously going to look at other successful teams see what works for them and try and emulate certain things .

I don't see why people are being defensive about it we clearly want to play a much more similar style of liverpool's than City's style .

It doesn't mean Liverpool invented what they do either but they have been successful doing it since Klopp came in so what's the problem?

The way Ince phrases it implies that Ole has looked directly at Liverpool and tried to copy exactly what they're doing, which I don't think is the case. There are similarities such as wanting to play from the back, wanting to have high levels of fitness and press high up the field etc, but these are similarities that almost all the top sides around in the league share at the moment. He's not really trying to emulate Liverpool any more than he's trying to emulate Spurs (we also play with pace on both flanks, Poch signed Toby) it's just that pretty much all the top 6 (and even the likes of wolves/leicester/everton) are following certain blueprints.

You don’t understand. It’s the style we had with SAF and it’s the style Ole also applies at Molde. Full stop. Nothing to do with Liverpool and gegen press or whatever it is they are doing.

Tweet unavailable, what did he say?
We bought Harry Maguire just like Liverpool bought VVD. We have three pacy forwards in Lingard, Rashford and Martial, again, just like Liverpool. So Ince is saying we are copying Liverpool.

I think the quote is fake. Even for Paul Ince that's a pretty dumb thing to say.

If Ince was smart (he wouldn't be Ince) he he would have said something like "half a dozen Bundesliga managers" could have set up a pressing system and bought the best 2 English defenders not already at big clubs.

Anyone catch him on Talksport last Friday? He was asked if he could only have played for Utd or Liverpool, who would he pick. I lost the radio signal and missed his answer. Anyone know what it was?

What the... Can I get his spot and he can go to the newbs!
We are not copying Liverpool, full stop. Some of our players have the same characteristics as theirs, in the same position. Also, regarding your comment about atleast we're not copying City: let's say we were copying another team, why shouldn't it be City, a team that won the league last season.

He has got something against Ole. Since he has come in, he has jumped to critise him. I get the feeling he feels like why wasn't he looked at for the job?

Maybe because he is a below average manager?

Can not stand this w@nker.

Feck knows why he’s even a pundit, he can barely string two words together without stuttering in between the utter horse shit that is coming from his mouth.

He could do the rubbish bits, but he wouldn't have had the winning run, or the beating big teams Ole has.

Agree with his comments, that's Rio and Ince having both contributed honest assessments. We all heard Scholes going on a tangent against Mourinho during his bad year, yet Jose had more points, around the same time he was sacked compared to Ole this current campaign.

I said this last week, I laughed my head of at what an imbecile Ince was at the time.

In hindsight, he was bang on :( . That run was ALL about the lift of being freed from Mourinho, since that lift wore off, we've been one of the shittest sides in the Premier League.

He usually is a grade A moron though. I guess you could say we could be forgiven for not taking him seriously. Him overrating his son is a classic.

Sorry I didn't even read it, that's how little I think of his opinion. Like all ex Liverpool players they have zero objectivity.

Ince you huge bellend.
Maybe you should read it before going off on one.

I do not know why you in a Paul ince thread if all you going to do is resort to name calling. Maybe you should stay away from them if it riles you up so much.

Oh, I'm sorry if I hurt your feels Paul. I just just don't understand why people quote people with clear agendas

I just do not understand why people go in a thread about people they do not give a feck about. Funny isn’t it.

Not really. I guess it just depends on your definition of funny
