If we keep faith in Sanchez and IF he can stay fit. I think he will come good. This is based on nothing but sentiment, of course!
I still think there's a good player in there. He'll never defend his salary but I won't be shocked if he gives us 10-14 goals

He’s very level headed (ha!), just as composed off the pitch as on it, experienced a big presence around the place, smiling, a personality you like to have around and cool head at the back is important, defenders level headed and not emotionally affected is great for a manager and the team, he’s been very good to have around.

Mentioned his head thrice.
There's a lot of reading in between the lines in that quote. Emotionally affected defenders (Jones, Smalling, Rojo?). Level headed, cool head, big presence. That's definitely intentional

Is he taking shots at Pogba? "Anyone can play well at 3-0"
He was playing well before that anyway, I just think it's a general point he is making about being in front boosting your confidence no matter your ability. The true test of your quality is during a tight game or when you are behind.

Bailly definitely as well. Don't think Smalling is as emotionally charged as the other three but his ability on the ball and shirt grabbing in the box are the biggest issues with him.

Backroom bet, Carrick tells Ole he can't make at least 3 bighead references or more during the presser. Ole is now £100 richer and Carrick has to wash Ole's car. Unless someone proves this didn't happen, this is what happened.

Sickeningly positive again. I can't trust a manager who doesn't have an axe to grind.

Did you trust Mourinho then?

I agree that Ole can be over the top positive and that could have its adverse effects as well, but he tries at least to bolster his players confidence instead of breaking it down like Mourinho

I’m in love with Ole. He has confirmed Sanchez wants to stay contrary to reports. Fecking media talk so much sh**. He’s in everyday, very professional and is working hard. Our manager is the most positive since Sir Alex left. Just what I want to see in a United Manager and reinforcing why I love ole. Air of positivity around the club. It will be interesting to see how ole reacts when we lose or play badly at some stage. Although apart from that little rant last season about some played not being here, he still showed belief in his players.

Does anybody genuinely want to see much of Sanchez this season? I'd rather James, Greenwood, Gomes and Chong are sat on the bench instead of him. Ole can't include Sanchez regularly and fulfill his promise to involve the youth, something will have to give.

Personally would like to see Sanchez given a chance I geunuiney believe there is a top player in there somewhere.. The youngsters will get plenty of minutes I just don’t think all of them will be ready this season

I’m guessing he’ll rotate the young ones and Sanchez in easy Europa league matches.

Good. You're not meant to judge managers in press conferences. Top managers rarely turn on their club or players or structure openly. Initially I thought Jose was a breath of fresh air when he did it but I realise he was wrong.

Behind closed doors Ole may be different but there's no way he's airing his thoughts to the media.

Against Chelsea we squeezed James and Greenwood on the bench, throw Sanchez into the mix and somebody has to miss out. I mentioned Chong and Gomes but even now they're not involved.

Talked sh**t about Sanchez and Fred

This two players made absolutely nothing.

First one is the worst signing of our history and Ole is still talking positive things, saying that he's a good player etc. Absolute non sense.

Ole should start talking facts and not hopes or dreams.

He could have said that he's not ready yet, that he's working. point

I don't get why he's protecting him (kind of) since he came

One game isn't reflective, especially given its a top 6 rival. Greenwood and Chong will play a lot in Europa and FA cup and Carling Cup anyway.

Why would he go out in public and say he's shit? Who would benefit from that?

The bit about Fred is interesting. I can see him becoming an important player for us this season. His energy will suit our new style I just hope he becomes more confident with the ball in possession. He can certainly do a job for us, but whether he can offer more than just running around and making it difficult for the opposition, only time will tell...

Or maybe Ole isn't taking shots and just making a general statement about what a calm defense would be like. Why do people keep projecting their childishness onto Ole and think the club manager himself would just sit there on his chair trying to berate his own players and take cheap shot at them. This isn't Mourinho and I'm glad Ole has a lot of decency in him.

He needs to improve his awareness, he often loses the ball in his own half in dangerous positions (last game against Wolves is 1 big example).

Start an FM save and scream to your lungs get sore at these players.

In real life professionals keep dirty laundry in private. What good would come from hanging these players out to dry in public? Nothing.

The last thing a manager wants to do is to condemn one of his own, underperforming players publically. Where is the gain in that?

Unless your name is Jose Mourinho, of course, but that's another matter entirely.

I don't personally think Sanchez will ever improve here, he's just not got it in him anymore.

I'd give him a few games to show what he's got, if he doesn't improve then try our best to move him on in January.

We've got young hungry players in Chong, Greenwood, Gomes who would be desperate for minutes.

feck off and support City.

Great presser today, primarily because nothing newsworthy or embarrassing has been said.

I think Ole is doing pressers the same way SAF did, sending messages to the players. He is not telling you Sanchezis a good player. He tells Sanchez he does believe in him by telling the world. That's a good move.

You've obviously never had any management or team leader experience.

I would love to see Sanchez to come good! Like some others, I do reckon he still has the quality. With the team playing in a different way he could possibly click a lot more with others.

People hate him because of his wages but would you have turned down the money? Its not as if he held the club to ransom. City were after him at the same time and United made a huge offer, that's on Woodward et. al not Sanchez. Did you expect him to say "No, thats too much". If anyone here was in his shoes they'd have done the same and no one would go looking for a pay cut. Its his job and source of income after all.

Plus people don't acknowledge that there was no transfer fee, which is why his wages are so sky high. Look at Aaron Ramsey! Free transfer and earning €450k p/w..

It's a long season and we don't have the biggest squad, if he's here and getting paid we might as well use him. If he has a half decent season he'll be easier to shift come the summer too.

People actually wanting Ole to spew a bunch of controversial nonsense about his own player just for the sake of it. What the hell is wrong with this place at time

Seeing posters getting down because of the fact Ole didn't go out there and claim how some of our players are crap and need to be sold ASAP makes for some ridiculous finding. Bottom line is some people regardless of what's happening would never be happy. It's as simple as that.

Even if you don't have management/team leader experience, surely its common sense you don't berate your staff openly!?
You'd think it'd be something easy to grasp but I guess that's not the case for some.

Brilliant post. Sanchez hasn't looked good but tbf to him, has he played 5 games in a row? he is always injured and under Jose's reign he always came on when we were in desperate need for a goal or almost a last resort. If Ole can instill confidence and tell him he needs him this season then he may come good.

Lindelof was useless his first season too. And the first half of his second.

Now he seems to be a lot of people's favourite player. Another reason why Lindelof shouting at Fred last season made no sense

If Fred has a good 2nd half of this season he'd have done as much as Lindelof has

Honestly I want to see our best XI. Right now we are starting Pereira on the RW and personally I do not even think he is good enough to be a squad player at United. So whoever wants to step up... Gomes, Chong, Greenwood, Mata, Sanchez, who ever... it is all good by me .

For my money we beat Chelsea with 9 and a half players (Pereira and Lingard should be a squad player imo), imagine if we had a complete squad of real players.
