Felt like a really odd appointment at the time.

"Our manager whose major experience is managing Dortmund's underage sides, is no longer working out, we should sack him and replace him with someone whose major experience is managing Dortmund's underage sides"

Interested who Huddersfield appoint next, there's a random link with Sol Campbell floating around.

I actually think with their present slide it would make sense to appoint a Hughton, Rowett or indeed Pulis. I think it's being underestimated the losing mentality running through the club now and with way they've started the season relegation to league 1 is serious possibility.

Going away from their model for last 5 years for a more short term manager might not be the worst move.

Fully agree with this.

They need a steady, reliable hand that'll give them a solid base to work from and be no nonsense about things.

Get someone like Pulis and they'll be winning again, albeit unspectacularly in no time.

Get the wrong guy in and they're sunk because as you said, that losing mentality is everywhere right now and they need to reverse it or else.

Only surprise is that it didn’t happen sooner
Exactly this! It was never going to work for them. Why they didn't do it when they got relegated was just baffling. I think he was actually waiting to be sacked, when I watched him doing interviews his heart never seemed in it.

I lived in Huddersfield for 12yrs, and always thought I'd love seeing them in the PL.

But the attitude of their fans on FB completely soured my opinion of them and I couldn't wait to see them relegated. The attitude originally was "yeah its awesome being a PL team, screw you Leeds scum". When it became apparent that relegation was coming, it changed to "can't wait to get back to the Championship anyway, real teams and real atmosphere in the stadiums, not this library atmosphere in stadiums full of glory hunters and tourists".

Gigantic sour grapes. Hope they rot down there.

Ridiculous time to sack someone! Should have done it before earlier in the summer
