This is why I can tell that you do not work in management. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it appears to me that you think being negative somehow will yield results? Exactly what do you think it would do to the players motivation when he's already struggling, and the manager comes out and talks him down? Hell we had Jose Mourinho do this to Luke Shaw last season and it was a horrible trainwreck.
The naivety of some people still amazes me to this day. Thinking calling a spade a spade is the correct way to do things when you’re in a management position, baffling.

Its hard enough as it is to shift Sanchez, Ole calling him a washed up piece of shit isn’t going to make it easier is it?

I think United’s upper management bought Sanchez as much for the publicity and merchandising as they did for on-pitch expectations. His performance I can somewhat excuse because he has been injured a lot.

The one I don’t get is Fred. How many people even knew he was before we signed him on that large transfer fee. Unlike Sanchez, I don’t think the executives bought him; this seems more like a on-pitch performance buy. Someone must have thought he’d be a big contributor. Yet he’s rarely out there. He’s not even on the bench some games. What’s that all about?
Since he got married in the summer he missed a lot of training and preseason matches, he needs to get match fit before he can be in the squad

Very surprised by Ole praising Sanchez and Fred. Neither have done anything to deserve this and if he thinks this way, Why hasn't he played them more, last season.
This sounds like a "Cover Up" for not signing a Midfielder and a Forward.

The way Ole speaks about how Wolves play, sitting back and having to be unlocked, i honestly think their style is setup for Gomes to feature rather than Periera (spelt wrong) . Itl be crying out for little intricate one twos in and around the box and with Gomes skill and fast feet in tight spaces.

Bench space at least for him, if he cant make the bench in these games , as Gomes id be scratching my head

Ole was talking about having some long range shooters for the game, think he also named Pereira in that regards

Game plan sounds like it will be long distance shots if they’re going to camp in their own box to stop our break.

I know it’s been done to death but this was the kind of detail Fergie would always go into to make sure we nicked 3 points.

remember a game where Valencia dragged a cross back to the edge of the box and Van Persie went to run to the near post but dropped back to the edge of the box to smash it home.

he came out after the game and said it looked spur of the moment but they’d been working on that move before the game with Rene because they noticed the defenders from the oppo team had a tendency to pack the 6 yard box when a cross was incoming.

So we spent the entirety of the post transfer window with people moaning about attacking depth and such yet at the same time the same people are screaming on top of their lungs how much they want an announcement of Sanchez leaving. So it's not even about weighting our options anymore and what approach is best to proceed with but rather just a chance to moan about players.
Is it really the exact 'same people'? Or are you just being a drama queen?

Were people moaning about 'attacking depth' or attacking quality?

People couldn't wait for the chance to moan about not replacing Lukaku, Fellaini and Herrera despite the former 2 not being wanted by the very same people. They got their wish yet were still up complaining. Now with our window closed, already thin in attack the very same people who cry about replacing departing players(even if they were deemed crap) are shouting for Sanchez to be sold right now(so they can complain some more about being light in attack and not replacing departing players).

This to me sounds like people just love moaning and are looking for every chance to get outraged.
Sounds like you just love moaning to be honest mate. :D

In the meantime I've picked through Ole's quotes on Maguire (via @Samid ) in case anyone missed the subtext:

He’s very level headed, just as composed off the pitch as on it, experienced a big presence around the place, smiling, a personality you like to have around and cool head at the back is important, defenders level headed and not emotionally affected is great for a manager and the team, he’s been very good to have around.

Talked sh**t about Sanchez and Fred

This two players made absolutely nothing.

First one is the worst signing of our history and Ole is still talking positive things, saying that he's a good player etc. Absolute non sense.

Ole should start talking facts and not hopes or dreams.

He could have said that he's not ready yet, that he's working. point

I don't get why he's protecting him (kind of) since he came
Posts like this are mental. Why do you want our manager to start throwing players under the bus, damaging their confidence.

I'm so sick of people complaining about Ole "towing the party line". He should be praised for putting on a positive front and keeping any problems internal and out of the headlines. It shows he's got things under control. I wouldn't trust a manager who was constantly shifting blame to the players or the owners.

Ole is modelling leadership, and people should stop complaining about it.

Pretty sure I've seen arsene wenger mention this but I've no doubt fergie and indeed most top level coaches subscribe to it too and that's the idea that whenever a manager speaks publicly his only audience is his players. Absolutely no one else matters at all, not the fans, not the board, not the press, no one.
The managers only concern is the performance and the attitude of his players and so getting the message he wants across to them is his only aim in things like press conferences, pre-match, post-match whatever.
I think there are some fans who need to understand this a bit better.

Personally don’t recall either of those managers saying that, but it’s 100% correct.

I suppose you're a big fan of Jose's tendency to throw his players under the bus then?

Imagine wanting our manager to shit talk a player that the club likely wants to sell to at least recoup some cost. Why on earth would it be a good idea to talk shit about him? The last thing we need right now is to turn into Real Madrid and their forcing out players in the media.

She is actually a great reporter and always asks meaningful questions, unlike many of the other shitebags looking for clickbait storylines.

The fact that she is absolutely beautiful and very charming is a very welcome bonus.

A shame that Ingrid is a Liverpool supporter but even that can't spoil it for me.
A shame indeed.

Seems as though Chris Smalling & Rojo are at the bottom of the pecking order.

Very good embargoed section, loved it when he was asked who was the best natural finisher between Rashford and Martial. He replied that Greenwood was with a smirk on his face.... that was brilliant

Think it was during the middle of the season? I could be wrong though.

Only because I didn't actually watch that game (the 5-5) but I remember the goal vividly. I think we may have won 1-0 or 2-1 and that was the decider.
Was it during SAF's final season? That type of goal, was scored vs Chelsea (Raphael with the assist), vs West Brom and vs Sunderland at Old Trafford.

Seems Tuanzebe might get some games as CDM, I don't recall the games he did that before, can anyone remember which?
I'd rather not have him playing as a DM. He needs to get established in his natural position first before experimenting. There is nothing really wrong with doing what you suggest but my concern is that it could become a sort of norm and distracting.

So they should be, I always found it laughable how anyone ever thought Smalling was any good. I have had him right at the bottom of the pecking order forever. He is a coward of a defender who hates the ball being at his feet and struggles even making 10 yard sideways passes. A brief 2 month spell of decent defending under LVG and half this forum thought he was Maldini.

Rojo, Smalling and Jones should hopefully have all been shown the door by this time next year.

Should add Kamikaze glassman Bailly to the list
