Great work @André Dominguez but I'm still waiting for my team, especially your views on our summer activity of Gomes X2, Enriquez, Castilho, Rocha, Moreno, Perreira and Freitas.

Pre season and first game, we look solid defensively but just not scoring which is a worry.

Maybe we can loan back our Nakajima from Porto. :D

"We are Algarve, We are Portimao, We are Portimonense"
It will be a long term job to make these posts, mainly because I'm going on vacation in 10 days, so I'm spending my time explaining my tasks to other people (this is actually more painful than doing those tasks) while doing those same tasks.

A few weeks ago I made a post noticing the interesting hirings on our league this season. I actually think this year the transfers were actually quite interesting. Clubs targeted some interesting youngs from lower tier european leagues instead of going for the easy route.

Ivo Vieira is the coach I'd like for my club if Sergio leaves. His teams always impressed me how solid and competitive they are. I dont think the squad he has available in Guimarães is very good so let's see how he manages the higher expectations.

Despite what Bruno Marques keeps saying about Vasco Fernandes, he's still at starting 11 and wearing the armband.
Well, no he is not. hahah.#fail

To be fair i can't really bash at the moment cause i was on vacation so i didn't caught any game this season. Still think Leonardo Chão should be on the first team

I hope the kid gets some game time. I think there's some raw talent in there. Sure, he will probably not become a top club player, but he has some good qualities in him.

He looks a brilliant coach imo. Fantastic start to the season for VSC.

Despite me not having faith in a win today vs Braga I am excited to finally return “home” to the Estádio Jose Alvalade!

Will be at the stadium today so o hope to see Sporting win. If it counts for anything I have never seen Sporting lose live so hopefully that trend continues!

Side note: Happy we were able to sell Dost but I am curious who we will sign to replace him. Hopefully Vietto gets a real chance down the middle to see what he’s worth.

Have to say Raul de Tomas reminds me of Berbatov. I really like this player. Benfica signing him and Chiquinho means that I'll try and catch some more Benfica games. I already watch them a bit, but I find it difficult catching their games (& Portuguese games in general) being in Manchester 'n'all.

2-0 at halftime .....

Should be losing to Braga in my opinion. They had the most and better clear cut chances but we scored 2 goals out of nothing.

Doumbia and Diaby have been absolutely horrific.

Just got home from watching Piedade's first home match and let me tell you, Edinho is such a machine, he's 37 now and still scores wherever he's playing. 2 goals in 2 matches and he seems in top shape.

Sporting keeper made a brilliant save near end of first half, close range tip over. Bruno Fernandes scored a nice second a few minutes later so was crucial part of the game.

Pepe turned back the years tonight, fantastic. Huge win for Porto, people were acting as if Benfica was going to walk the league but it seems like they have their bad days too.

Benfica has ZERO shots the whole game. Tactical masterclass by Porto. Was an easy game for them.

Porto win at the Luz more then Benfica do:lol::lol:

Currently in Portugal. Come once a year been doing so since 2008 was out but game was on. Bars full supporting both sides. Seen more Porto shirts through the day must be said mix at night. Back to the apartment now and have had sport tv on all week. The build up channel sport Tv + is brilliant, from spilt screen of the fans in each of their bars watching the game to the split screen of the press room and the Porto fans being marched out the stadium blows sky sports news out the water. Wish I knew a bit more the language so I fully understood what they were saying.
I’ve got hold someone at home to get me a link so can watch the games even more. BT use have the rights then free sport both don’t show now.

Is there any trouble at these games? Was watching earlier and the Porto fans seemed be closed in by police pre match but looked to be having fun.

Tends to be some trouble especially if the away team wins but nothing to serious in my opinion.

Sporting VS Benfica and Porto VS Benfica always tend to stop the country and are the most fun games to watch.

That was great news from Portugal today, I forgot that game or I would go to the Portuguese bar to watch the game and laugh at benfica fans who are by far the most arrogant fans in footbal. Great by Porto!!

I really doubt the football atmosphere in Scotland is worse than here, but one thing we have in common is that no clubs from Scotland or Portugal will win the Champions League again, and even the Europa League looks more difficult.

Talking about Benfica, if they don't sign any new keeper and right fullback until the end of the month I doubt they will get out of the Champions League group stage again. With this I am not saying that was the reason for them to lose today. Anyway well done to Porto, this season I am destined to watch under 23 football to forget the crap team I should support.

I am going to be in Portimao today and lets see what happens. This team under pressure is horrible.

It helps when the opposition has a donkey upfront who can't hit the target from 8-9 yards (Seferovic)
Marega also managed to miss an easy goal before the 2-0. He needs 10 chances to score 1 goal, he can't pass or dribble.

It shows the state of the Portuguese league when Seferovic was the top scorer:lol:

It is still too early in the season so this loss wont make or break a season.

Missed this match by a week. I'm over next week and would have gone.

Hoping for a repeat of last seasons result. :)

Enjoy Portimao especially as it's Sardine season...
I’m going to be up there for 3 days and plan on going to Lagos!

They have this cave explore tour that I am going to be doing with the girlfriend as well since she has never been.

As for the game luckily for Sporting Nakajima is not there to terrorize Sporting like last season

Yes I know, was a weird transfer that.

Lagos and Alvor are very nice.

Get the water taxi from Portimao to Ferragudo lovely little village and where Mourinho's father originally came from.

Anyone in Portimão I should watch out for? To be honest I don’t know much about the squad but have heard pundits say they are well equipped from midfield to attack.

What is that VAR decision seriously  can’t believe they went all the way back to somebody being accidentally tripped up. Ridiculous.
