This is the worst possible season and scenario for Pulisic to come into Chelsea!

All eyes on him as their only signing. And a big-money one, too. New to the league. A threadbare, poor Chelsea squad due to the transfer ban. Manager having to make the best of it while also learning his trade in the PL.
Chelsea fans need to pray he's made of stern stuff and can take some stick from the media.
I watch him all the time for the US National Team and even at his young age, he is by far the most mentally tough player we have (I know that's not saying much). Through our failed World Cup qualification run, our entire squad of veterans were looking to a teenager to save their asses, and he almost did it. He's made of tough stuff for sure in spite of his stature and age. He would have been great on the right for United, already a better player than Lingard IMO, but I guess we are going all in on Sancho, so I hope we get him.

I agree about being better than Lingard.

I disagree about Sancho coming to us, top 4 or not. He'll have bigger fish to fry.

Chelsea fans will be happy to hear what you've said though!

This is the Pulisic you saw too often at Dortmund that left him sat on the bench for most of his last season. Weak and ineffective.

0 chances created
1 dribble
9 dispossesions through bad touches and tackles.

He’ll grow into his role there but today didn’t do a lot. Maybe he needs to up his fitness level to match the PL.

I don’t think he’s currently better than Lingard. Has more potential maybe.

He's a young player with potential at this stage. I'd be very happy if we had him tbh.

May be because he signed for Chelsea last January, no point for Dortmund to play him after that? He does look weak TBF, may be he will improve

He's not. Last season Lingard was horrible unproductive yet his 4 goals was still as many as Pulisic has ever managed at Dortmund, in arguably a weaker league. In 17/18 Lingard was far better than Pulisic has ever been.

Decent B tier young talent, nothing less or more. Heir to Hazard? Don't make me laugh, the man who took his place at Dortmund has more claim to that title.

He didn’t play much before that. I’ve seen a fair bit of him following Sancho at Dortmund and he ghosts game like that too often. If there’s space like against Liverpool then he can look good but I was really disappointed in him overall from what I saw relative to the hype. He does have good pace and dribbling skills for sure but it felt like they flattered to deceive. Of course he can improve but I’m sceptical he’ll be an important player for Chelsea.

"Couldn't stand this club employee!"

Fecking clickbait headlines. Annoyed that I actually gave them a click. It's Mourinho, for anyone wondering.
A bit pointless, as they could have put Mourinho in the headline for an even greater effect.

Point is, his dad didn't want him at United, under Jose because he doesn't promote youth.

Was Mourinho even our manager when Pulisic moved? Thought we’d got rid of him by the time the January window came around.

I'm not sure what is Lampard's style as a manager, his success will depend a lot on Lampard, he'd struggle as a classic winger in the PL IMO, he would suit in Guardiola's/Klopps's/Pochettino's system I guess.

2 games and you have successfully predicted his career trajectory? Tell me, how are the Knicks going to do this season?
Tbf, be might outdo someone like Spector the spectacular but he’ll have to up the ante big style.

I reckon he might, just might end up on par with Brek Shea.

He wasn't, but Chelsea had been working on the deal for many months prior to him signing on the dotted line, which coincided with Mourinho's tenure at United.

Makes sense. Can’t argue with his decision though.

Forgot he existed until I saw this.

Not surprised. No way Lampard would have wanted to sign him, if they could have signed players that is. Not sure he was a Sarri signing either. Boardroom signing most likely. Still would have liked to seen him sign for United.

It's not exactly the most surprising flop in football history. His last season in Germany was terrible as well, it's a bit mental to say this, but he's peaked at 18 and has kind of stagnated since then.

Who would have thought our championship kid would be looking better than Pulisic and Pepe at this point in the season

There's time. Kids younger than Abraham for god sake. Looked good in the super cup final, I don't think it's a question of his ability but more of his tactical astuteness as to why he's not getting himself into the side.

He's like the clone of Kagawa. It's crazy how similar they are and to me their career paths will also be similar.

He's been decent but he doesn't really press as well as Mount or Willian. Hopefully he just keeps his head down and works harder.
