There’s been some good ones in fairness. Apart from Moyes and Mourinho getting fired, we’ve won a few trophies, had some great victories over rivals, and put together some good runs of form which ultimately look like false dawns.

The Mata game at Anfield was great, crowned by the Gerrard red card. Actually the few games we had around then were by far the most fun we had under van Gaal. The comeback at the Etihad last year was also epic.

Winning the Europa was great as we hadn’t won it before, however the three trophies don’t really dominate my thoughts.

He has a lot of critics, but I think watching Rashford break into the side and establish himself has been the most enjoyable aspect of these years for me, along with the wave of optimism which reigned from the Cardiff game until PSG last season.

Aside from that period where Ole gave us that brilliant run of form earlier this year, Van Gaal's late season form 2015 where we beat Liverpool, City and Spurs very convincingly and sadly fell to champions Chelsea in a game where we had the majority of the possession was probably time we looked like we were on the right track.

Mourinho swinging that drinks holder.
Zlatan's league cup winning goal.
Europa League celebrations with half our team on crutches.

PSG game and following 36 hours.

Surpassed even the Mourinho cup wins.

Martial and Rashford debuts were fun.

Not many more aside from those.

Ole's initial run and PSG away. Felt a little like old United was back.

Rashford goals, FA Cup, first game with Giggs as manager must also be mentioned.

PSG away and the comeback against City at the Eithad.

I don’t really rate the europa league final, since we aren’t even supposed to be playing it.

I think it was 3-1 arsenal where we scored on the break a bunch... they had so many shots we blocked, de gea made a crazy double save

The PSG game was a bit of an emotional roller coaster and I don’t think anything has ruined me as much as that game but Carrick and Sweinsteiger basically playing in loafers smoking cigars and having a whisky in midfield against Pool was something pretty special. The two of them absolutely bossed that game and didn’t seem to break a sweat doing it.

FA Cup win was nice, but tainted as we all knew we were crap still.

EL win was the moment I felt like we were really going to get back to the top.

But I think overall the sacking of Moyes was my most euphoric moment.. just goes to show what a shower of crap it's been since the great man retired.

Yay, positivity thread!

Rashford's emergence was one of the best for me. Scored a brace on his debut, a brace against Arsenal, a goal against West Ham in an FA cup QF and a winner against City in the space of about 8 weeks.

Some isolated games that I personally remember very fondly:
- 4-0 vs QPR under Van Gaal (felt like the start of something special)
- 4-2 against City under Van Gaal
- Winning home and away against Liverpool under Van Gaal
- a 2-0 win in Jose's first season against Watford when we played some of the best football I can remember post Fergie.
- August and September in 2017/18 when a title challenge genuinely looked on.
- Ole's first 10 or so games.

Martial's first goal for United.

Winning the FA cup thanks to that Lingard banger.

The Zlatan Final (league cup win).

Rashford prem debut double vs Arsenal.

Evra goal vs Bayern.

PSG away.

Van Gaal falling down.

Lingard dancing at the Emirates (Specifically the first 10 minutes of United 3-1 Arsenal).

Young's two great goals vs Watford for the sheer surprise of it!

Oh, and Pogba comeback vs City (Smalling!!!)

It is largely the false dawns for me, those brief bits of ecstasy and optimism before reality kicked back in;

-Evra Vs Bayern
-4-0 QPR right up until we went 3-1 up vs Leicester before that soft Vardy/Rafael pen started a full meltdown en route to 5-3
-String of results vs big 6 under LVG
-Pogba/Ibra/Mourinho summer and opening few results
-Initial OGS run

PSG comes out well ahead of any of these though, absolutely LOVED football again like a kid for those final few minutes

The comeback against PSG. Can't think of anything else that tops that.

The Miracle in Paris stands head and shoulders above anything from me judging by how much I lost my s**t when the final whistle blew. Nothing since Sir Alex left compares to those feelings.

That run in 14/15 (I think) under LVG when we beat City 4-1 at home and beat Liverpool and someone else from the big teams.

Van Gaal collapsing to the turf in front of the fourth official to highlight that he thought Arsenal players (think it was them) were going down too easily.

  • 2014 Pre-Season
  • Big games under Van Gaal
  • Europa League win
  • Seeing City fans cry after spoiling their dreams about being champions in the Derby at their home turf in a record breaking season with a brilliant 3-2 comeback which was 2-0 to City at half time. Everything seemed perfect for them until we decided we'll make a comeback & also Pep's comments about Pogba being offered to them by Raiola etc. and he scored two (that was probably the best one. It felt like the good old days with Fergie in charge making another comeback etc. I had the feeling of this as the most like Fergie's United)
  • Juventus & PSG away

You've a sharp memory and this is a very good list; honestly, it's not that bad if you look at it like this. We've had our moments each and every season since and I particularly enjoyed our FA Cup in the 2015/16 season as well as Mourinho's first season in charge.

The picture of Cantona and Fergie with Ole after the PSG match. The nature of the victory and doing it with a young team felt like the club had finally rediscovered itself. The two legends were proud of what they saw. Shame on all the senior players who came back from injury and quickly ruined it.

Has to be the initial run under Ole and the PSG away game. Made me feel all warm inside that period.

That comeback vs City with Pogba dominating a game like we know he can.

Europa League triumph. Gotta be pleased with that.

Van Gaals antics. Crazy man - in a great way.

Sacking Mourinho - sorry but he was just toxic

Signing Wan Bissaka at Young’s expense (actually this might be even better than the Europa league win)

This season with all the energy and optimism amongst the team

Mike Phelan returning

VAR vs City and the subsequent conspiracy theorists amongst the City supporters - too funny

Without doubt finishing second the season before last.
And I still give great credit to Jose Mourinho for that although I am well aware that is not shared by many.

Mata's double at Anfield, particularly the bicycle kick (won a £50 bet off my scouse mate). PSG away win... Rooney at Anfield (90th min smash and grab) RVP hattrick vs Olympiakos (2-0 down from 1sr leg).. Manchester Derby win, which stopped Pep wining the league against us (Pogba double). Ole's win's at Emirates & Stamford bridge.. Matic's screamer vs C. Palace from 2-0 down (his best performance).. Newcastle win at Christmas from 2-0 down (Sanchez with the last min winner).. There's been a few nice moments post SAF.. We just haven't come close to challenging for the PL :(
