That's why he's one of my favorite United players. A very intelligent player. He's so adaptable to any type of partners, even the lesser quality one, and still made our midfield functional.

I mean, you'd hard to find any player who could make partnering with Cleverley as a League title winning team.
He's my fav player. Miss him xd

I'd love a Bernardo Silva. Someone who can play on the right, but then also start in midfield to help us blitz through the bottom half teams. With another option on the right to stretch the pitch, or come off the bench to add some pace into the game.
This... Nabil Fekir anyone?

Looks promising. More dynamic without Matic and I think Fred moves the ball better than Herrera.

Definitely worth persisting with till the end of the season because if McTominay or Fred establish themselves as certified first choices, we've got one less thing to worry about in the summer.
We don’t exactly have much choice to ‘persist’ with it do we?

We are so light on numbers in there I just pray form and injuries go in our favor or we could really be in trouble...

Every United fan should be heading to church every Sunday and praying that Fred it the player we thought he was.

Because if he isn't. We're so short in midfield we won't be able to do anything this season.

He was excellent vs shaktar vs several sides, city Roma lyon and someone else, home and away. Used the ball very well from deep and broke lines well.
Yeah, he was good with Shakthar and at the very begining of his ukrainian career he played behind the striker, I would be curious to see how he does there nowadays.

There's actually a Scientologist centre down the road from me. So i'll pop in there at lunch and cover all the bases.
Once you get in, you won't be able to get out easily mate. Just... be careful.

The teachers pet thing with Pereira needs to stop. Fred can't possibly handle the league worse. Every time Andreas is too slow, bundled over and dispossessed.

We have zero creativity thus why Pogba should be playing further in advanced role to create the chance not playing deeper. We got Maguire to play from the back, I don’t see the point of Pogba playing deep, Fred should be capable to take the deeper role alongside McTomminay.

I'd like to see Ole try to emulate the trio of Matic Herrera and Pogba when he first arrived. If you remember Ole brought Herrera back in the team, Matic was rejuvenated and Pogba could do his thing and create. This all stopped when they got injured and Matic returned back to looking past it, we went on a very long awful run that still is continuing bar the opening day. Ideally we would've replaced Herrera and Matic but we did neither.

Fred can do Herrera's role and have McTom/Matic holding with Pogba free.

It should be Matic sitting behind Pogba and Feed for now IMO. Matic has come in for some unfair criticism but he gives us better structure and would allow Pogba and Fred to roam forward.

Alternatively Gomez could be played in the 10 ahead of Pogba and Matic sitting deeper. Although any formation with Pogba sitting deep is now ideal.

Just get Fred in the midfield and I think we will see a far better team.

Can only think there's fitness issues with Fred as that's the only reason our team selections make any sense.

Even so I'd play Matic next to Mctominay and move Pogba up. At the moment we're putting at least one player in attack every game who is not contributing just to make up the numbers.

Is Fred really that bad? I rated him before he joined us, is he really a lost cause? I think he needs to be given another chance since we’re short in midfield.

If Pereira and McTominay are picked ahead of Fred then we need to sell Fred, because Pereira and McTominay aren't Utd material, so how can he be?

No idea why Ole hasn't tried this. Stupid to play Matic, Pereira or Mata ahead of Fred.

Atleast Fred still deserves a chance or two.

I've been a huge supporter of Pereira but the guy just isn't cutting the mustard. I think Matic and Pereira need to be shipped out. I do agree Fred's been crap but Fred needs another season to prove himself. I think he would help us with the pressing style of play and get some urgency in the midfield that we've lacked.

We’re weak in midfield so have to start playing with a three especially when the only options at number 10 are Mata or Lingard. Be amazed if we haven’t switched to a three man midfield for next game but expect Matic will come in rather then Fred.

How come he got so few goals and assists in the ukranian league then?

Its obvious he's just awful.

Well, he mainly played as a CM in a 4231, so goals and assists aren't really supposed to be high. And he also missed a lot of games due to a doping ban.

Hoping we put Fred in place if Pogba and Pogba in place of Lingard for Leicester. Has the most potential to balance our team out IMO, and makes it easy to make subs for a more attacking side or make it more defensive if needed.

Fred and McTominay in a double pivot did pretty well in the few games they played together.

Either we could play a three, or keep them in a double pivot and play a 4222, with Pogba as a left attacking midfielder.

Martial Rashford
Pogba Mata
McTominay Fred
Shaw Maguire Lindelof Wan-Bissaka
De Gea

The fear I have now is Ole will become more and more risk adverse given the shocking run of form we're in - I think everyone could see how much happier Pogba was when he was freer and further forward and if that means 'risking' Fred who can be a bit of a liability from what we've seen so far, than so be it.

We don't create enough unless it's on the counter and one of the main reasons is because our best midfielder by a country mile is being played deep to cover over the fact we don't have a DM.

Let McT have a chance at holding on his own, put Fred in there to support and generally buzz around as he does and then allow Pogba to sit in as a 10

A £54m quality player should be banging in goals for fun and getting lots if assists in the ukranian league.

Hes pretty much worse than Herrera in every aspect including effort and physicality.

Hererra usually scored more for us than Fred for Shakhtar and Hererra wasnt exactly known for his goals.

I'm not really sure about your point. I didn't suggest that he was a good signing for us, someone asked what he did in the Ukranian League and I answered that he was good and he was also good in CL. Nothing else.
