There's about zero chance that Glazers get involved with the football side of the club.

The Glazers dont know Everton. Even if they know, they have no clue about their top 4 chances. All of that seems unlikely, but with an obligation to buy, we would have sold him, Everton or whoever else, he would be gone. So this one smells like utter BS to me. Rojo is not even in a matchday squad most of the time for us, getting rid of him for a decent fee is not something the Glazers or Ed would block.

So they would pay us a loan fee but we would still continue to pay half of his wages which would be a higher amount than the loan fee. Why wouldn't they just pay a higher percentage of the wages and disregard the fee?

Nonsense.
The Glazers care so little about the day to day goings on at the club, they aren't suddenly going to get on the blower and block the transfer of our 6th choice CB when we're desperate to get people off the payroll.

Plus I doubt they're even fully aware of who our direct rivals are nowadays.

Close but no cigar. Should have gone with Woodward, if they wanted this to be even a bit believable. The Glazers do not care about anything but the bottom line, doubt they have a clue about football and the quality of players.
