Not expecting a win but my word what a boost it would give us.

I'd take a draw now though. 4pts from Chelsea H, Wolves A is fine by me.

Nervous about this but I have an undercurrent of optimism which I haven't felt in a while.

Wolves are our bogey team, but in the past 2 matches I've watched, they've looked a bit static in midfield. When they get a counter going, they're very fluid and quite scary so we need to control the midfield in order to nullify them. Pace out wide will prove helpful and we need to be pressing them hard - you give these guys too much room, or underestimate them in any way, they will take advantage.

    It'll be a close one, but I'm going for a scrappy Wolves 1 - 2 United.

I'd like to see James start this one, but part of me thinks he'll be a sub. He might be a breath of fresh air with pace and directness when the Wolves players are beginning to tire.
It's the optimism that hurts me, especially after last season, when the swagger returned, then vanished as promptly as a hooker whose paid time was up. Or so I've heard.

James to me is the impact sub, I'm not sure about his ability to play as part of the team for a whole match, but as a broken field option late in games, that seems a good spot for him right now.

Fred is unlikely to recover in time for tonight's game which means we're stuck with Matic or Periera to partner Mctominay.

Sanchez is in the squad although he is scheduled for a medical with Inter tomorrow morning - according to reports anyway.

I think This game will give us a better gauge of where we are and where we’re going than the last match. Did wolves beat us 3 times last season?

Anything but a loss, this team doesn't handle the bad times very well so we need to keep a positive run as long as possible.

Would like to see the 352/442 hybrid we saw against them last season and used against PSG, but I reckon Ole will continue with the 4231 we have used all pre-season and against Chelsea last week.

What I would like to see:

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire
    McTominay
    Dalot Pogba Lingard Shaw
    Rashford Martial

If we are quick and if get to the second ball quicker than Wolves, then we can beat them. If they attack us( they have to as they are the home team) we will get chances. Pogba has to be on top of his game.

Not sure how we’ll do tonight, but not having to watch Ashley Young splunking aimless & erratic long balls towards that lazy carthorse Lukaku for 90 mins like the Molineux last year will be delightfully refreshing.

Expecting a tight 0-2, with us only scoring the our 2nd in the last 10 mins to ease the pressure.

I like that one... but Dalot wasn't even on last week's roster, was he? Not sure what's going on with him, but I really liked his range down the right side last year.

Is Matic fit for this one? If so, I'm guessing we'll see this:

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Matic
    McTominay Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial

We have to score first. If Wolves get ahead then it will further make the team more anxious given the. Results from last season. It will also allow Wolves to sit back and possibly hurt us further on the counter. We must score first!

Please lord no. We need mobility in midfield.... Matic has lost his legs.

I’d be happy if Fred was fit and ready to start. If not same lineup as last week apart from perhaps Mata in place of Andreas (or one of them starting and being subbed for the other)

Haven't heard much travelling squad news or seen many photos, but word is still no Fred or Sanchez involved - Bailly & Fosu-Mensah obviously long-term injuries. As far as we know, everyone else has gone. Feels like Ole could often take quite a few extra players who won't even make the 18.

Apparently he's not quite at the fitness levels yet. I suppose he'll take another week to get up to speed as he was competing in the Copa America

Do you think we are not going to use the 4231 formation we have been using?

I think we will. Wolves tend to play that system with Jota making runs to link up with Jimenez, so we will need to watch that

Starting to get a bit nervous. Please don't let us down, all they have to do is give it their all and I'll be happy at this point.

That won't be enough for the resident matchday loons.

We have to win well or else everyone will need to be sold and the manager sacked

I'd go with the same team we played against Chelsea.

IF there was to be a change, I'd look at Dalot instead of Lingard for that little bit of extra cover, but that's it.

Please no Mata or Matic in the starting line up

I agree. Had some fantastic games for us, more notably against PSG when he came on for Bailly.

    Maybe Greenwood on the right?
