Delaying on the ball, dragging it under pressure when he can release other players, typical shit you've seen him do here when he got here and same shit he's doing all those years later. He just doesn't learn. He can be absolutely magnificent like in the first half if he wants but then it's just like watching Gerrard after the slip when he wanted to do everything by himself.
Learn what? He didn't lose the ball like he did last match and he didn't try anything fancy. You're moaning about him being on the ball when he's a midfielder. Says it all. And the last match was a completely understandable critique on Pogba from the fans. Today though? No.

I thought he was very inconsistent. He’s had some incredibly good moments and some mind-boggling ones. Consistency with the small things is what I want the most from him.

Sloppy and lethargic a lot of the time and lost us 2 points by missing penalty. Poor.

He scored 4 out of his last 5 so i dont have a probelm with him taking it, its not like Dan James won the pen and tried to take it himself.

He was pretty good throughout today, wasn't really helped by McTominay having one of his worse games.

Maybe his new challenge can be learning how to take a penalty though

He played well today, at least up until 60 minutes or so when the whole team went downhill. It was the grown up performance a lot of his critics have been asking for.

Brilliant play to win the pen but shouldn't have taken it. Overall ok performance but a double pivot of him and McTominay is going to get roasted every time and its neither players fault

Under a tree.
If the penalty taker is going to rotate, it should be between Martial, Rashford and Mata. Pogba shouldn't even be in the equation, he has had his chance. His conversion rate is terrible and just made worse

Excellent once again. And once again, if he had anyone better than McTominay with him, he'd be doing even better.

I thought he had a good game. Did extremely well to win the penalty as well.

He has scored 7 penalties out of 11 total. 4 missed fecking penos. Should be banned from taking them.

Lots to whine about this game but Pogba is not one of them. Put in a solid defensive shift, always made himself available for a pass and won a penalty completely out of his own desire.

Rashford asked him if he wanted it.
Ole has instructed the forwards to do that. Shitty penalty miss but that doesn’t define his performance.

Literally looked really bothered at the end of the game but ok.
What good is that? Need conviction throughout. We will never see a consistent Pogba if he's kept here against his will.

Without him we'd be absolutely garbage. Cue him getting all the hate though for missing a penalty he won in the first place.

He played really well tonight. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t understand football. He’s always going to give the ball away at times it’s who he is. He won the penalty. He shouldn’t have taken it. It’s annoying but it’s done. We played really well. Let’s move on without drama.

We need to buy a CM in January.

McTominay, Lingard, Mata, Pereira - none of them should be starting in the middle alongside him

The amount of people on here saying Pogba was excellent is scary. He was his typical, slippy and garbage self. Take the rose-tints off or we will still be saying the same carp in 10 years time.

The was same old, same old.

It's the exact opposite. Apart from the pen that he won himself, point out what exactly he did that was so garbage?

Mixed bag performance but more poor than good imo.

Need to just focus on what he does best and stop fecking around. His passing and vision are his best tools. Don't keep the ball much and focus on creating chances. Also stay away from pens.

Chelsea game he was poor in the first half but when he focused on what he does best the second one he turned it around.

Looks like Pogba asked Rashford to take the penalty himself, which is understandable considering he got us the penalty but really sucks when it cost us 2 important points. Oh well. Im glad he showed feelings after the match though, he'll clearly blame himself for those lost 2 points, and hopefully come back even stronger next match. But Rashford/Martial need to take the pens, no matter who gave us the pen.

I've literally said what in the post you're responding to. So now midfielders have some kind of a licence to dither on the ball for so long?

Yeah poor guy, before it was Matić, Fellaini, Herrera, now it's McTominay. Funnily enough as of late the only setup in which he looked good was with Kante in the French NT.

This. Absolutely ridiculous to see the best CM in the world paired with someone as mediocre as McT. PP played in midfields with Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio, Kante, Matuidi, Ndombele... look what he's working with now.

Red Card for Casemiro!
Anyone can miss a penalty. Aguero did that at crucial moments last season.

He had a brilliant game in the role he was asked to play otherwise. Constantly under pressure from their press, he had to stay deep and look to play out from the back. McT and Lingard were nowhere to be seen when the defence wanted to play the ball out, and Pogba did well to resist the press and find a player ahead of him. On another day, he'd have buried the penalty, but he does not deserve the biased hate he is getting from the likes of Neville. That run to win the penalty in the first place was lovely.

Honestly if any club come in with £100m next summer we should snap their hands off providing it is reinvested wisely. He's just honestly not that good. Loses possesion cheaply, and things rarely come off for him. One good assist every 3 games does not make a world class player.

What do we expect? the Lingard, James and McTominay threads are saying they didn't play well. So is the expectation that he carry the whole 3-man midfield?

He played well anyway, but his crime today was missing than pen. Should have given it to Rashford, the coaches need to sort that out.

Hot and cold for me. Did some very good things but also some stupid things.

Doesnt help with Mctominah right beside him who just passes to the first person he sees.

Thought he played very well, few loose passes in the first half but other than that thought he won the midfield battle
