Proper bottled it this week and used the wildcard already! The ridiculous amount of price changes made me do it!! Can’t remember there ever being this many, so drastic and so soon into the game. Have they changed the way they are calculated or something???

Team now looks like this:

Fabianski
TAA-Laporte-AWB-Digne
Salah-De Bruyne-Martial-Caballos
Kane-Pukki

Subs- Button, Lundstram, Dendoncker, Greenwood

Any suggestions on how to improve?
I know I’ve jumped on the bandwagon on some players but felt I needed to as otherwise my team value would’ve dropped massively which then makes it harder later on in the season when making the odd like for like transfer etc.
Happier with the balance of this team than my previous one though so think I’ve made the right decision!!

Wanted to avoid Barkley's price drop so went Salah and Barkley to Mane and Maddison. Hate doing transfers this early in the week though.

So Martial is in but had to take Joshua King out.

Ryan
Digne -- van Dijk -- Robertson
Salah -- Sigurdsson -- De Bruyne -- McGinn -- Martial
Kane -- Wickham

Button-Kelly-Gibson-Greenwood

0.8m in the bank, so will upgrade Gibson to a 4.5m defender and go 451 next GW.

I have David Silva and both the Liverpool wing backs, all of whom are doing nothing for me whatsoever.

I definitely want to get rid of David Silva (surprised he didn't start). And I would have kept both TAA and Robertson but they aren't going to get as many clean sheets now with their third choice keeper. I also didn't think through the Schmeichel selection and might want to switch to Pickford?

Planning on continuing with a 3-5-2.

Schmeichel
TAA-AWB-Robertson
Silva-Sterling-Martial-Ndombele-Maddison
Jimenez-Firmino
Any suggestions for what I could improve?

Pogba or Jota?

I could afford Pogba if I swapped Coady for Burn, but I’m not sure. Pogba basically guarantees you 10 goals and 10 assists, but Jota plays up front and is listed as a midfielder. Got 9 last season too and is a lot cheaper.
Pogba is a waste of time this season. Won't have the same freedom as last season because he's playing deeper and shouldn't either be taking another penalty anytime soon. AWB, Martial and Rashford are the ones to have from United.

There is no spoon.
Decisions decisions on who to captain this week...

Kane v Newcastle? Norwich did them 3-0 last weekend
Salah v Arsenal, pretty sure hes got good returns v the gunners previously, defense doesnt look great or settled for that matter
Sterling v Bournemouth, probably the most inform player of the premiums
Pukki v Chelsea, bit of a chance it could back fire but their back line is really looking nervous

Good points. Martial and Rashford are becoming harder to ignore as well.

Also might not take pens anymore, which counted for a lot of his points. Although I suspect he will still take some of them.

What's everyone's team value at the mo?

I always try and focus on gaining value in the early rounds so I have more money to spend when it comes to the wild card. As such, my transfers have been completed immediately after the game week finishes to take advantage of price rises/falls and hasn't really been focused on the upcoming game week. That will change fairly soon though.

Currently my team is worth £100.5m

I think drafting in Ceballos and Ndombele is a bit knee jerk guys. Although cheap, neither will rack up big points.

Think you're getting your Jotas mixed up.

Jota is listed as a striker and not great value anymore.

Used my 2 FT and took a -4.

Zouma -> Kelly
Fraser -> Martial
Greenwood -> Ayew

Gives me a complete team of potential 90 minute starters, 2 premiums, and pretty stacked defense.

Ederson Pope
Robbo TAA AWB Maguire Kelly
Perez Martial Sterling Maddison Dendoncker
King Kane Ayew

Leicester and United should get a decent run of fixtures now, .4 in the bank so I can chase some minor rises until I WC, and decent City/Pool coverage in case they blow up.

Downgrading Sigurdsson to Maddison might not be the worst idea if Everton dont start scoring.

I really want to get Martial in before a price rise but taking hits goes against my fpl principles... :nervous:
