What will you do if Ole doesn’t work then? You can say this about anyone. I know for sure Allegri would be doing a better job than Ole. Comparing their CV’s say it all
Been there done that.. We've done the whole CV thing, get behind Ole he is going no where and thankfully people like you aren't in charge or are they?

Allegri is a poor man's Mourinho. If Ole leaves then we must go for the Pochs. I am all for great CVs etc but lets bring someone who actually plays good football.

I go mainly based on what I watch on the pitch before making judgements and now having had a pre season the squad is unquestionably working harder, playing with a more attractive attacking style and appears to have made progress.

The two games we played were far from perfect but anyone who watched those games surely has to appreciate that we are heading in the right direction.

The only obvious weaknesses I see are No10, CDM and RM only in so much that Lingard while a willing runner and important to a pressing system has few other qualities and he’s now a senior player at his potential peak. He needs to either score more or improve his passing game to be a long term solution.

CDM is ok with McTominay but he’s not got top quality on the ball IMO. He looks to me to be a 7/10 player which isn’t the end of the world if he can be consistent. Someone like him is necessary for the system as he’s a water carrier at the moment.

RM Daniel James is a sensible signing. Young, quick and very fit meaning he can be involved in a whole game at a good standard. He’s not the best nor will he be this season but Solskjaer using him gives us balance as teams do not like his pace. Just look at Kante, Neves etc fouling him for fear of a counter.

The fact Solskjaer is playing much better football and attacking better despite 2/4 primary attacking positions being weaker than most here would like I think is testament to the good job he’s done in pre season.

We are way off Liverpool and City but with another 2 summer windows I can see this core of players coming good with this playstyle.

Jose is lucky Celta Vigo missed an open goal in the 90th min at Old Trafford. Also have you forgotten how Sevilla embarrassed us in the CL last 16? And the disgusting comments he made about our history after the game? 3 trophies? So you're counting the charity shield too then? Ole is much healthier for this club than the "Poisonous One"..

P.S.. 2nd place but 20 points off City is not worth mentioning, a nothing achievement, the whole league was smoking crack that year, was completely a one horse race..
Our name is on the trophy, Celta Vigo isn’t, think that’s what matters. Sevilla are a good European side, with 3 Europa League’s in recent times, proving they have the know how in Europe, why does no one talk about Ole getting embarrassed by 19th place Cardiff at home? Funny how that’s swept under the rug. In Mourinho’s heritage rant, it was mostly about the last 7 years, which he was right to criticise. He didn’t shit on the entire history of the club, Ole fanboys are just exaggerating

We got 81 points, that’s the point, and we finished above Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea who had better sides than us. The thing is the summer after that, Liverpool went out and had ambition, and got new signings and went to another level. That could’ve been us, but Ed rejected Mourinho’s targets

Been there done that.. We've done the whole CV thing, get behind Ole he is going no where and thankfully people like you aren't in charge or are they?
Funny how the 2 CV managers we’ve had won us trophies, whereas the other 2 non CV managers haven’t. It’s almost as if a winner manager has more chance of winning than a loser manager, but most Manchester United fans don’t seem to like winning these days

I think we will finish above City this year. I think they are going to crack. Pep always does a Mourinho at some point. I think the team spirit in our camp is very strong and Ole has the team playing to it's strengths.

Would you have kept Jose in charge then? Pogba would already be at Madrid, Martial probably at Arsenal or Spurs, Fellaini given a life time contract, Lukaku starting every game and Rashford rotting on the bench. And we'd probably have finished 12th! Feck Jose with a passion! Why do you think in damn near 12 months no European club will touch him with a barge pole?!

I think we will be closer this year but no way will they fold like that. They'll be 2nd minimum.

The Aguero tension is just the start of it.
I guess you didn't see them hugging after the game then? There's no tension, and you'd expect world class players to be upset about being substituted at only 65 mins (for G. Jesus) when your team needs a goal and you're the best striker in your team (having already scored 1 in the game).

No point since we didn’t back him in the market. I’m sure if he was backed, the relationship with Pogba, Martial would’ve been a lot better. It was all sabotage in his last few months because understandably he didn’t get what he wanted. Fellaini was a useful player, who came clutch in quite a few big games, semi finals, nothing wrong if we kept him. Could’ve done with him the other night..

Let’s move forwards by going backwards! So glad I don’t have to watch that big oaf in a united shirt again. We only backed Jose to the tune of £400,000,000 in 2 and a bit years, how much more did he want?

Still we had to address CB, RB position. Still huge gap in CM, RW positions. Good that we didn't back him signing more shit players.

This is getting very frustrating, fans who are using his last transfer window where Ed failed to get him a CB. There is very good reasoning to that.

Most of Jose's signings have been flops. He was backed very heavily in his 1st two seasons.

What does not backed even mean? Not spend as much as City? Not spend £400m? Not break our transfer record every time?

Could have done with Fellaini other night? No. the reason he was sold was so we can move on from lump it in the penalty area football.

We looked like we could score a goal even until the 95th minute?

No words for you. Sevilla are a good Europa cup side. No one is saying we can't get knocked out by a lesser club, which I think Sevilla are. The point was the type of football was rubbish, boring and useless.

Go and have a look at posts post Cardiff and over the summer when the 3 results spoken about were Everton away, Cardiff home and Huddersfield away. NO one has swept it under the rug.

Ofcourse he shat on the history. This is Manutd, your here to manage the club not your own ego. Saying Manutd have not been past quarter final stage etc, that is the reason Jose was brought in, bring back the glory days.

Jose wanted Perisic, Godin etc, that is not ambition my friend. I guarantee if we signed them, we would be sitting here saying how do we get rid of these ?

Understandably with Martial, he was shit under Jose and inconsistent. As for Pogba, yes they fell out but Pogba is more similar to Jose than you think, if we were bringing in world class signings instead of the shit Ed gave Jose instead, Pogba would’ve been a lot happier, getting to work with actual decent players, and this whole apparent ‘toxic’ thing Mourinho brought wouldn’t have existed
"Not backed"
Pogba - Commercial signing
Lukaku - Was Jose’s 2nd choice behind Morata
Fred - Bloke is literally 5’10. Not a Jose midfielder, or signing
Matic - Fair enough
Mkhi - His own weak mentality is why he didn’t make it, not Jose. Same shit at Arsenal
Bailly - Injured half the time. Again this isn’t on Jose, as its still happening now
Lindelof - Decent signing
Alexis - Commercial signing like Pogba
Dalot - One for the future

You left out Zlatan, who was the best signing by far

This is only 9 signings too, City have made about 20, same with Liverpool in that time. It’s mad how Manchester United ‘fans’ back Ed and Glazers over Jose in this one

What’s wrong with hoofing the ball? Spurs don’t go to the CL final without it (Llorente) Chelsea don’t beat us in the FA Cup final without it (Giroud) funny enough we didn’t have Lukaku or Fellaini that day, no wonder we lost. Hoofball is a tactic, there’s no wrong way of playing football, hoofing it has worked for other teams who have apparent ‘modern’ managers like Poch, he’s done it

That is literally a fact, not shitting on the club’s history, we haven’t been past the quarter finals in years, what’s the difference between a United fan saying that we’ve been shit for the last 6 years and Jose saying it? There’s none. Both are factual in saying that

A respectable draw away at Wolves and they've all come back.
Mourinho once got a draw v Liverpool at Anfield, who went to a CL final that season and everyone went mental at him, saying it wasn’t the ‘United way’ and all that nonsense. But Ole drops 2 points at a team that’ll finish 7th-10th, with 3 shots on target I think, and somehow it’s a respectable result

Also there’s nothing wrong with backing Mourinho who is our most successful by far manager post Fergie, and it’ll stay that way for some time. More should be doing it, but a lot of weak mentality in this fanbase have their nostalgic goggles on for Ole, and rate him off emotion and sentiment, defending him for a goal he scored in 1999 over what he’s doing as Manchester United manager in 2019

The official number was £391,500,000 apparently so not too far off.

Yes I realise he also wanted him last year, you don’t always get what you want in life though.

Mourinho drew against a 4th place Liverpool team that got a favourable draw to the CL final. Ole drew against Liverpool AND was the better team in the season when they finished 2nd with a crazy amount of points and won the CL. It's pretty pointless to gauge each manager based on how well they do against Liverpool anyway.

Mourinho was never going to be building a team for the future, which is exactly what we need right now. Maybe if we stuck with him and backed him we would have finished top 4 again, but we would still be making no progress to matching the standards set by City and Liverpool. Playing Mourinho's cowardly football is never going to amass 95-100 points in the PL these days, all we'll be winning is tinpot trophies like the League Cup, Europa League and maybe the odd FA Cup. And that's while we'd be playing shit on a stick football. It's not going to be winning us leagues and getting us consistently into CL semi finals.

At least with Ole we look to be building towards a style of play that prioritises attractive, attacking football which in turn will allow good players to express themselves better in the set up. It remains to be seen if Ole is going to last long term, but at least foundations are being set for managers who prefer attractive football. If we, like you said, sign Allegri to replace him we'd be all the way back to square one. It's a decision that's just as stupid as replacing LVG with Mourinho. And by that point we'll be looking at 10 years since we won the title and we would have made absolutely zero progress.

So every big signing was for commercial, yet we haven't had the need to that this year? Surprise surprise the manager has a say in transfers.

Hoofing is a last resort, when you are playing well you don't need this. Its rubbish.

So how did we get past the last 16 last year? same team? Ole always says, we are manutd and we belong to the top.

I was not assessing the quality of the players, merely the fact that he spent almost 466 million euros on ten players. Guardiola bought 13 players spending 418 mill euros in the same period. Only eight of them was for the first team. Klopp bought eight, and spent 358 million euros.

"Not backed"

PS: The "commercial signing" stuff is a myth. Mourinho gave Woodward a shopping list every year.

Top 4 and a trophy > the shitshow that happened last season. That’s why you should’ve backed him. Pretty sure we would’ve had a deep run in the CL too if we backed him, considering Spurs got there. Football style is irrelevant. Mourinho’s ‘shit on stick’ football has won him 20+ trophies, it must be working then

Ole plays attractive football? It’s almost the same style as Jose, counter attacks, with more pressing, the pressing being dumb as we always look knackered in the 2nd half and don’t have the players for it. We aren’t Liverpool or City. If you think managers that prefer attractive football will like this squad, let’s say Pep for example, you’re mistaken. He’d sell half of them, and rightly so. If we brought in Allegri, we’d definitely win a trophy, also have a more competitive edge rather than Ole trying to be friends with everyone. He’d give us big signings aswell, he’s had a good relationship with all the top players he’s worked with
Liverpool had over 20 Signings? Can you name them please?

We were literally trying to get Dybala in this summer, for commercial reasons. It’s all Ed, not the managers

You can play well and hoof at the same time, there’s many successful teams who have done this. With centre halves getting weaker, smaller these days it should be more relevant in today’s game to get an advantage, but many managers are too soft, and stick with their bullshit ‘philosophy's’

A fluke win, there’s not a chance Ole will repeat that PSG win in his manager career. He also says what deluded fans want to hear

Klopp signed Matip, Karius, Mane, Klavan, Wijnaldum, Salah, Robertson, Ox, Van Dijk, Keita, Fabinho, Shaqiri, Allison. Think you’ll find that’s a lot more than 8 signings.

As for Pep, Gundogan, Nolito, Zinchenko, Sane, Stones, Bravo, Bernardo, Ederson, Walker, Danilo, Mendy, Laporte, Mahrez, Rodri, Cancelo. 15 signings.

The difference is, both managers’s boards were actually ambitious and improved their squads season upon season. City won a league with 100 points and still went out and got Mahrez. We got 2nd and Ed and the Glazers thought that was fine, and only got Fred and Dalot. Again it’s mad how United ‘fans’ back Ed and the Glazers over Jose in this one

Jose fan boys are funny. It's everyone's fault but his. Jose was hard done by the board but he has to take most of the blame. It was supposedly his dream job but he was not willing to adapt. Had he adapted and improved his footballing style people would have loved him and he would have still been here even if that meant a year of trophyless football. But each press conference he moaned and whined. Unless he changes his approach no top club will touch him.

City got 100 points. Even under Fergie we’d have been about 10 points behind even in his best year... Your argument is void. We actually did well apart from the Sevilla loss that season. I doubt we can replicate that this year btw. I live in hope though.

Stop downplaying the trophies Mourinho won us too. He’s one of the best managers we have ever had despite himself. It’s disrespectful to your own club. Tottenham & Pool won nothing in those years.

He’d give us big signings aswell, he’s had a good relationship with all the top players he’s worked with
Top 4 and a tin pot trophy without ever making ground on City and Liverpool doesn't sound great, sounds very late-Wenger Arsenal without the decent football. And with the competitiveness of the league now, top 4 isn't exactly a foregone conclusion. Stick with Mourinho and we would have fallen further behind. Who gives a feck about what Mourinho achieved between 2000-2010? Since Real Madrid he's been a shadow of his former self. All he won since then were a league title (in a season where everyone was shit and Chelsea simply had to not lose and grind 1-0 wins in the second half of the season to win the title), a Europa League (facing against easy opposition, and we still made hard work of it) and two league cups. All while his brand of football stagnated whilst everyone else adopted modern tactics that brought them more success. And how can you even be sure we would have gotten deep in the CL? We surely weren't getting any closer to the elite European teams that's for sure. All we saw under him is getting knocked out by Sevilla at home while employing the most embarrassingly cowardly tactics I've ever seen from us.

And there's a pretty big difference in the way Ole plays to how Mourinho plays, and it's a lot better to watch. Notice you called pressing dumb because it tires you out in the 2nd half, well good thing we're focusing on keeping up fitness this season then isn't it? The reason why we declined so badly late last season was how horribly unfit our players were due to years of Mourinho's ignorance on work rate (we were consistently one of the last teams in the ranking for distance covered). So that takes time to fix. We don't have to be City or Liverpool levels of attractive at this point, just as long as we're actually working towards reaching that level.

Our squad at the moment isn't perfect by a long shot, but we're making strides towards fixing it with players that actually want to play for United. I can't stress that point further. It's a heap load better than what it was going to look like under Mourinho that's for sure (swapping Willian/Perisic for Martial is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard). If we somehow miraculously brought in Pep after Ole (or any attacking manager) then they'd find it easier to work with the squad than what we would have had under Mourinho.

If we brought in Allegri now, we'd be back to waiting a while for him to fully implement what he wants in the team. Which leads to huge player turnover. Which leads to finishing outside the top 4. Which leads to not being able to attract the best players. Which leads to mediocrity. Which leads to his sacking, and wow we're back to where we started. This is the first time in a while where we actually look like we're building towards something instead of going for results first, good football later kind of managers.

466 million euros. "Not backed".

Signs are very worrying for me. Reluctance to try anything before it is very late is something I don't like.
Really bro? We had multiple chances to finish the game off in the first half which we didn't take (much like last season's game at the Molyneux) but instead of capitulating when they equalised (from a wonder strike may I add) we recovered and looked like the only team who pressing for the win. Wolves were left hoping for a counter attack in the last twenty minutes which never really came.

If you think all that is a worrying development from where we were just 4 months ago, then you need to revise your estimations, IMO. We dominated a team who handily dealt with us twice last season for c.75 minutes and we actually suffocated and outplayed them in midfield, which was the best aspect of our performance. We also had real pace and technique going forwards and we were resolute defensively.

We're not going to the top straight away, but Ole is doing the right things. We're playing fast, proactive football with an emphasis on youth (the youngest starting XI in the league in both game weeks thus far) - the difference between Monday and last season is like night and day. He might have been let down by the board in not selling the deadwood, but he made an emphatic statement against Chelsea when he benched Mata and Matic - two players who he could so easily have played since they would have been the safe options. He didn't. Which is why I'm so frustrated by the jibes of him being a yes man to the Glazers (such a yes man, that he was the only player who had the bollocks to call them out at the time of the takeover...) or that he won't play the kids. He's given Gomes and Chong a massive show of faith by giving them new numbers. He's taken the both of them (and Gomes) out of the U-23s and they are part of the first team on a full time basis. The bed wetting in Gomes' thread for example, because he hasn't been on the bench in two games is nothing short of pathetic. The season is long, and while we're playing 1 game a week, he is of course going to go with who he trusts to ensure that we get off to as solid a start as possible. The likes of Gomes and Chong will get their chances once the Carabao Cup and EL games start and it will be up to them to break through on the strength of their performances.

The season is a long one, and the scale of Ole's job is vast. It won't change overnight, but he's already done so much in a short space of time. Patience is what's required.

I think we went 1 or 2 months without these shit "he wasn't backed" arguments, now they are back.
