Just swapped Aguero, Haller and Tielemans for De Bruyne, Firmino & Pukki

Couldn't quite afford Sterling unless I got rid of Pulisic but they play leaky Norwich & someone on here recommended keeping Pepe. Was very close to using the wildcard already

Also KDB had the arm band on last game so I'd like to think theres less risk of being trolled by Pep

Watch Aguero go and get about 5 goals, assist Sterling for a few and Pep bench KDB!!! :o:mad: I may then give up as I'm already floundering in my work league...

Oh great I forgot about Mane.... dont think I could have afforded him but probably should have tried to work him in

This is strong. I like that the 2 keepers are 1st choices. The defense is quality and not too expensive which I feel people fall into the trap off. KDB will be a fantasy revelation this season (injury permitting). Nothing needs to be said about Sterling. Martial listed as a midfielder is manna sent from above. Kane will get you 20 league goals guaranteed.

Thoughts on mine

Henderson
TAA Maguire Digne
Sigurdsson Martial KDB Tielemans
Kane (C) Rashford King

Pope McGinn Hanley Kelly

Anyone thinks triple captaining Kane is worth this week ? Or could there be a better opponent for anyone else ?

Took El Ghazi for Robinson. Easier upcoming fixtures, more firm starting spot and he plays tonight and I’ll be drinking and watching the game which adds to the entertainment. Player in that spot will probably not feature in more than 15 games for me this season anyway.

Very similar to mine except I've gone for Firmino over Rashford, Pope as perma keeper and KWP instead of AWB which I hope will pay off in the short term before I switch him out.

No faith in us I see...very sensible. I'm going against all my FF morals with three United players. Normally have three Liverpool to soften the blow.

I transferred out TAA to get KDB. So my defence is very weak but I’m hoping my midfield will make up for it plus more. Any advice or thoughts for my team:

Adrien
AWB - Pieters - Lundstram (Basham)
Salah - Martial - Sterling - KDB (Cartwell)
Kane-Pukki-Greenwood

I’m thinking of having Greenwood rather than Cartwell in case he comes on and scores but if he doesn’t play then Cartwell will come in. Or would I be better off starting Cartwell?

Dendonker vs burnley at home or Lundstram vs Leicester at home? Who should I start?

So who's GW3 Captain for everyone then?

Very close / difficult one to call this week between Sterling & Kane for me.

I have the same dilemma, Sterling would normally get it for me but I think Kane could have a field day playing Newcastle at home. So I would go with Kane.

I'm killing myself here looking at the betting odds, history vs respective opponents... Sterling has 8 goals and 2 assists in 12 games vs Bournemouth in his career and has me constantly 2nd guessing myself.

Kane will surely score vs Newcastle though, I'd be shocked if he doesn't.

I think lot of players are thinking short term. I was one of them before and after 3-4 gameweeks lost my patience and didn't care to much. This year I'm going for more long term thinking. I was one of them thinking (and still think) Kane is good shout for triple captain but will pull the breaks. He will still be my captain for this week and I hope for some goals (2 is enough) but I will save my tripel captain for Salah/Martial/Sterling when they play against weaker side. In my mind right now is Sterling against Newcastle in few weeks time.

I'd hold on to Triple Captain until for a week when one of the premier players has 2 games in one GW. Around the CL season.
That's my strategy anyway.

You just know whoever you don’t pick will score a hatrick, damn Murphy and his stupid law. I guess if you really are in doubt then go with Sterling as you have stats to back up the decision, myself I am going to go with Kane as I have a good feeling. Good luck with whoever you choose!

I've Kane myself but still mulling it over and probably will do right up to the last minute

I put Kane as my captain and Sterling as VC. Don't trust Salah
Same, I took Salah out to get Kane. But then again, Salah's record vs Arsenal is insanely good too.

My team for this gameweek:

Pope - vs Wolves - Not ideal, but I didn't want to waste one of my free transfers on this one.

Walker-Pieters - vs Newcastle - As long as he starts, I'm optimistic of a cleansheet.
TAA - vs Arsenal - Unlikely cleansheet, but difficult to drop TAA given he's a bonus-magnet and deadly in the attacking sense.
Zinchenko - vs Bournemouth - Cleansheet more likely than not.
Digne - vs Aston Villa - Tricky one away but same as TAA.

Martial - vs Palace - Playing as striker against this shitshow.
Sterling - vs Bournemouth - In for Salah, could no longer see past him.
B.Silva - vs Bournemouth - Basically his last chance - I'm still tempted to drop in Greenwood instead of him in the starting line up. No idea if he'll start or not.
Sigurdsson - vs Villa - Another bastard who isn't getting any points but dropping value like the pound. His last chance too.

Kane - vs Newcastle - Captain.
Deulofeu - vs West Ham - Transferred him in for King. Bit of a wildcard but Watford seem to have alright fixtures coming up and I reckon they'll hit form for this game.

Yeah I will never get Salah and at this price I will not take Sterling this year either. Mane is also well overpriced.

Not a big fan of significantly downgrading 4-5 players in order to get a £12m+ player that everyone has anyway. Wouldn't be surprised at all if KDB came within 30 points from Sterling which would be more than made up by having Martial, Sigurdsson and van Dijk as opposed to some duds. Basically I am trying to find as many players with high points to cost ratio rather than just stick Salah, Sterling and a bunch of randoms and hope that them two score as much as they can.

I think Martial and Rashford will have excellent points to cost this year. Not entirely convinced about Sigurdsson but he had a superb ratio last year (think it was better than Sterling and Salah).
It's interesting reading this.

As I currently have

Salah, Sterling, Kane, plus Van Dijk and Martial.

Also in there are Ceballos, Ederson, Maguire and King, so I'd hardly say it's the big hitters and a team of chumps!

There's 2 x 4m defenders, but as one of them got a 14 pointer last week, and the other got 6 on the opening day, they're hardly dead weight.

The only dead weight player in the team is Greenwood, but 3-5-2, or 4-4-2 has worked well so far.

The thing you're ignoring by focusing on a "points to cost" ratio, is that they might not be good captaincy options.
That's where the big hitters, that you're leaving out come in.

Are you trying to obtain the lowest score possible?

No Sterling, Mane or Salah?

I've gone Kane Firmino and Pukki.

Salah or Mane will come back into my team at some point for sure but they don't look essential over next 5-6 games.

Not really, just prefer other options rather than the default ones. I’m quite confident I will do well in my league without them. Mane especially I would be surprised if none of Martial, Rashford and KdB outscore him this season. At least one of them will. Possibly all three.

Sterling n KDB are essential looking at City's next run of fixtures. My word there's guna be some blood baths in that run.

Fair enough. I just prefer to have a lot of good players in there rather than a top heavy team. I did it last season to a large extent too, never had Salah, and won the league over people who had him without any problem. I had Sterling in for maybe a third of season.

So my starting 11 is in and I’m absolutely delighted with it considering the run of fixtures they are all facing . Wildcard played though but some point scorers on the bench at least and plenty of high value players to sub out if i need to free up funds.

Pope
AWB - Digne - Pereira - Pieters
KDB - Martial - Mane - Son (C)
Firmino - Rashford

Subs - some keeper, that Lundstrom 4.0 geezer, Guendozi and Wickham.

Pretty sure Sterling & Salah won well over 400 pts between them last season. It's almost essential to have 1 of them in every game week.

I've taken Salah out this game week and the only players I had in mind was 1 of either KDB or Mane, opted for the latter.
