He is at it again. Saying that if he was in charge United would be in the CL for sure. That the players were too attached to SAF and if he had got Messi, Ronaldo, Van Dijk, Mo Salah, KDB and Hazard he would be winning trophies. ( I actually made that up). He said if he had to the players he wanted to sign he would be still in the CL. He thought that he would be given more time even thought he failed to get United into the CL and that he never thought that failing to get into the CL would get him the sack.
Is he going into competition with Wenger and who he nearly signed? Guy fecked the club over, destroyed what Sir Alex built with his Everton philosophy.
Hopefully Ole can turn the club around, but he certainly doesn’t need advice from Moyes on how to do it.

He's so bitter about his time here. Trying to blame anyone but himself for the failures.

Moyes was a rubbish manager. His fate was written when he thought he can come in and get rid of all the coaching staff. Rookie move, never recovered since then wherever he has been.

Should have given him more time. Dont bother quoting me I know this is an unpopular opinion and all but in hindsight he needed more time.
If you have a pair of shoes and they don't fit, it doesn't matter if you give them more time, they still won't fit.
From day one, it was obvious to all, that Moyes was horribly out of his depth at United, and no amount of time was ever going to change that.

You finished second
And? Doesn't really give much context to the situation. Wenger finished 2nd in 15/16 does that mean he was back to being as good as when he was finishing in the top 2 for fun?

The second place finish came partly down to the first five games which we won all five and loaded up the goal difference, partly because the opposition was very below par (the points tally in that season wouldn't have got us top four in the last three) and partly because we had a group of players that knew how to keep scraping results while playing poorly (something they proved to an even more extreme extent a year later).

I disagree and dont think he got a fair chance. He didnt get the players he wanted and was left with the very tough task of post SAF. Last 6 years have vindicated him.

Absolute tosh, there is no vindication whatsoever.
Just because the two that followed, were were not right, does not by any stretch of the imagination mean that Moyes was the right man.

Christ just think, if we'd kept Moyes we'd have been shit for the last 6 seasons. Oh wait....

We were not shit for the last 6 seasons. We were 2nd, won the Europa, the League Cup, the FA Cup. With Moyes we won nothing. We were 7th coming down from the high of being Champions. We are still suffering from the effects of his appointment.
As for him not getting the players, his mentality was that he was still at Everton and wanted to do everything by himself. He had the chance to sign so many players scouted by the staff the previous season but he dithered as he always did and got only Fellaini. How on Earth can anyone think that Everton had better players than United when he came to United?

I don’t get how Moyes turned into such a shit manager. He was doing a very good job at Everton on limited resources and seemed to have a good eye for talent especially from the lower leagues. His career post Utd has been awful you would imagine such a well established manager who won manager of the year a bunch of times to at least manage a mid table team.

He often says he's holding out for a Premier league job, but I'd say he'd snap someone's hand off if he was offered the Partick Thistle job now or something in League One.
, me too Dave, me too.

Giving this incompetent shithouse the managers job at one of the biggest clubs in world football will go down as one of the stupidest and most inept decisions of all time.

Is he bollox vindicated. He's one of the main contributors as to why we've been shit for 6 years. You also realize he was here for one of those 6 years i hope?

And as bad as we've been 13/14 was still the worst season, when we arguably had the best and most settled squad in any of the last 6 years

He got more than a fair chance but he fecked it up.

Right man, in the right job at the right time. A perfect storm basically that he hasn't been able to replicate.

During his 12 years at Everton the game passed him by.

His last 3 seasons at Everton he finished 6,7,7 so I don’t think he was left behind by much. He was clearly out of his depth at Utd but he’s nowhere near as bad as he has become post Utd.

We've done better every single year since he left though?

Well, we did finish 7th in his season at United so he was not out of HIS depth at United. That's where he mostly finish anyway.

"We've done better every single year since he left though?"

yes we have at least finished 2nd and won the Europa, The League Cup, and the FA Cup. Last season was the only one without getting into CL or without winning a trophy and I am sure we finished higher than the Moyes season even then.

But in his last 3 seasons at Everton he will have benefitted from the team/squad/set-up he had built in previous years.

He’s since managed 4 different clubs and not been able to replicate what he did at Everton. I think he got too comfortable and stagnated at Everton. He didn’t improve or evolve as a manager as a result when he went elsewhere he was exposed as a dinosaur.

Thinking you'll get time shouldn't mean you then nosedive the team though, should it. He was clearly told CL was the minimum, and there's no point getting comfy at a top club if you take them from champions that low down in one season.

I'm not sure I'd have described the job he did at Everton as "very good" but the bolded bit is spot on. There seemed to be a constant stream of signings, especially defenders, from unfashionable places that he did well not only to spot, but also to develop into reliable PL performers.

Maybe he felt on coming to United that all that was now beneath him. Trouble was, he had no experience in recruiting Big Names, and it showed. Whatever, he's never been able to do it since.

Yep I had my tongue firmly in my cheek. Moyes was a disaster, I mean how much worse can you be to take a title winning team to 7th. He was by far the worst manager United have had since probably Dave Sexton.

I do not know bonothom. Dave Sexton was boring as hell but if my memory serves me right he was sacked when we were 2nd in the league.

And he won his last seven matches in a row. But, I was glad when he was sacked, because the football was so boring.

He has competition now. Now Trump thinks he is " The Chosen One". Moyes should ask for royalty from Trump for using the word.

If someone gave you a 6 year contract and booted you out after 10 months then yes you would feel sore. It was a ludicrous appointment. Asking a man who won nothing to command the respect of a medal laden dressing room. He always struck me as someone who couldn't believe their luck. He was Sir Alex's chosen one etc. I genuinely think he expected to get the first season to assess the squad and from then would have gone on to overhaul the playing staff. The problem with that is it's United and he was manager of Everton in the same league as United so should have had an idea of what was needed from the start. He inherited a bloated, imbalanced squad. Scholes retired and he sold Fabio to Cardiff. His buys were poor. Mata is a MU quality player but lacks pace. Fellaini was a useful player but never MU class. He needed to hit the ground running. Varela was sent packing by Mourinho having done nothing of note as a player at OT.
He is finished as a top manager. He will always get punditry gigs and does deserve respect for his work at Everton. Should have stayed at Goodison.
