Looks like he is being punished for leaving the MLS Whilst complaining about all the travelling to me. Never a red card, yellow would have been harsh.

How can the referee have the benefit of VAR and still think that's a red. MLS :lol:

It's probably closer to a foul the other way. He attempts to go with his man and gets bodychecked.

I believe American refs and disciplinary committees are very strict on any sort of contact with the head/face/neck and have been for a long time. Used to post on an US site and would often see red cards in their league for challenges where two players go up for a header and one would accidentally catch the other with their arm. The kind of thing that often wouldn't even be a yellow elsewhere.

Early days, but with Derby sitting in 16th and out of the Carabao Cup already I do wonder if he might end up arriving as their manager rather than coach, or being promoted to that role before the end of the season.
