Thought it was a bit of a dumb celebration considering it was 1-1 with very little time left, but so what. He’s learning and this was a mistake, hardly need to make a big deal out of it.

Why are people slating him for celebrating what he thought was saving the game for us? Great finish and show of confidence from him. I think it was a good thing for him to celebrate.....the bad thing is his bloody awful diving he needs to be told to cut out immediately (ok one today was actually a foul even though he was diving before the contact was made).

I think he has done well, shows great desire to chase which not many do, has fantastic pace and looks a decent finisher.....my concern is from what I have seen so far I wonder if there is more to his game to develop, time will tell but I am not sure there is the quality in his game on the ball without his pace to be a top player personally

He did the right thing, knowing how shit we are. The players who wanted to get the match restarted ASAP cost us a valuable point at home to Palace. :nono:

Couldn't give two shits about the short celebration. Was a really good goal. What does worry me however that he is another player that looks miles better on the left. We really are dumb shits on the market when it comes to our right wing spot.

Is there a way I can find out some sort of crossing statistics for James? My guess is he has attempted roughly 15 crosses so far and only 1 has beaten the first defender and reached a team mate.

I also cannot work out why his movement is so poor. Is he being specifically told not to make simple forward runs to get behind defenders? When he receives the ball he is too close to our full backs to have any real impact. Also, he genuinely runs faster than the ball on a few occasions which means the ball seems to get a bit stuck under him, which breaks down our momentum in attack a bit.

The only positive for me really was his great finish for the goal. He also has a good work ethic and puts a shift in defensively which is appreciated, however he doesn’t have a lot of actual quality on the ball. I want to see him do well here but I cannot believe a lot of people seem to be in agreement that he had a good game overall today. If that is the standard of how a winger at United should perform then we’re screwed.
That's what I thought as well. Some even said "fantastic game by him". Great finish, well taken goal but other than that not much to cheer about. Seems like people forgot what a Man United winger does as we haven't had one for years now.

Yeah terrible start for him so far this season...

Can’t believe how many people have been negative about him since arriving!

Fantastic. His technique will improve, but his attitude is absolutely top class. 11 players with that attitude on the pitch and games would be won in the first 30 minutes.

Only disappointing thing is he's another that looks better on the left but until Sancho comes in I'd play him every week

Wonder who will bite

Love him, don’t now how we fit him, Rashford and Martial into the same line-up though.

Took his goal well. Need to see him take on players more often but there is not space down the left for him actually.

If he carries on this way we've unearthed a gem and simultaneously proved there is value in the market. If the Championship is the best league in England, there must be others like him.

Had doubts about his shooting but he has really impressed, he likes the give and go would like him on the left and Martial up top.

Rashford drops to the bench eventually, for me. Martial is significantly better up top and James more of a winger (primarily because he is).

Great goal. Emphatic finish.

His work rate his great too. Gets right back to his own touchline and pitched in with some very good defending. Top lad.

He looks good on the left, but he's always looking to cut in, which will get predictable. I'd like to see him mix it up and go down the outside as well. He looks comfortable with his left foot so he's got it in his locker.

Good start from a player who was "shit" according to some people on here.

I saw him at my gym a few days ago at 7am looking absolutely shattered. Doing his own work out before training. Obviously a workaholic!

Yeah that’s the feeling I get but I’m thinking we’ll try and shoehorn them all into the line up and end up with non of them performing to their capabilities.

Good game from him, scored and created good chances for these useless clowns.

Out shown by a championship player .
