Thought it was a bit of a dumb celebration considering it was 1-1 with very little time left, but so what. He’s learning and this was a mistake, hardly need to make a big deal out of it.
I never did. Not sure what thats got to do with anything anyway. That'd be the same Rooney this place spent years slating yeah?
People love to find fault and moan.
That's what I thought as well. Some even said "fantastic game by him". Great finish, well taken goal but other than that not much to cheer about. Seems like people forgot what a Man United winger does as we haven't had one for years now.Is there a way I can find out some sort of crossing statistics for James? My guess is he has attempted roughly 15 crosses so far and only 1 has beaten the first defender and reached a team mate.
I also cannot work out why his movement is so poor. Is he being specifically told not to make simple forward runs to get behind defenders? When he receives the ball he is too close to our full backs to have any real impact. Also, he genuinely runs faster than the ball on a few occasions which means the ball seems to get a bit stuck under him, which breaks down our momentum in attack a bit.
The only positive for me really was his great finish for the goal. He also has a good work ethic and puts a shift in defensively which is appreciated, however he doesn’t have a lot of actual quality on the ball. I want to see him do well here but I cannot believe a lot of people seem to be in agreement that he had a good game overall today. If that is the standard of how a winger at United should perform then we’re screwed.
Indeed. Very promising
Looks like we’ve found a top young player!
Very promising.
Rashford drops to the bench eventually, for me. Martial is significantly better up top and James more of a winger (primarily because he is).Love him, don’t now how we fit him, Rashford and Martial into the same line-up though.
Yeah that’s the feeling I get but I’m thinking we’ll try and shoehorn them all into the line up and end up with non of them performing to their capabilities.Rashford drops to the bench eventually, for me. Martial is significantly better up top and James more of a winger (primarily because he is).
His youthful enthusiasm and almost naive confidence is infectious.I really like this guy. A major positive amidst the shower of shite.
