He has developed into a proper world class player - fair play to him. Hard not to admire how he has dealt with everything also.

part of me wonders whether he would/will replicate his club form outside of that City system, which does help him considerably, but fair dues to the guy.

Judging by his last few England performances then I see no reason why he wouldn't

Delivering for England now too puts him there easily now for me. He’s far more entertaining to watch than Kane as well.

Last night in the first half it seemed like every time he got the ball, England scored. They didn't give him the ball enough in the 2nd half although he did miss a couple of sitters when they did.

He got the ball loads in the second half but was far more selfish. One particular moment stands out where Barkley was completely free but he kept taking people on.

It’s like asking if Messi is the best Argentinian player. Of course he is.

Pep has moulded him into an absolutely devastating player. He’s channeled all his skills, talents and athleticism into playing only for objective. He’s made him a machine

Pure hyperbole.

54 appearances at 24 seems pretty impressive. Are there many players at his age with more/similar?

An aside, Rashford has 34 at 21. Impressive also.
Joshua Kimmich has 44 but first cap was in 2016 compared to 2012 (just the 1 cap, then 12 in 2014) for Sterling.

Jose Gimenez has 56 for Uruguay (2013 first cap).

Mbappe has 33 at 20.

The guy's absolutely world class. I think the world of Kane, but I think there's a reasonable claim that Sterling is a top five player in the world (Kane is a top 10 for me too). That England attack will be the most feared at Euro 2020. Sancho, Kane, Sterling and then Rashford off the bench to run at tired legs.

The real deal, still has serious flaws but the rest of his qualities make up for it.

Been poor for a number of games.
He hasn't. Had one of his quieter games on Saturday but still scored the decisive third goal. If that's poor, I'll take it. Was great against Preston last week.

The front six rarely play three games on the bounce. They play two and drop out for one. It's the case for Aguero, Mahrez, Bernardo, Silva & De Bruyne so far this year. Gotta manage the minutes, especially when the internationals are still around

He was extremely poor at the weekend (despite the goal he almost managed to miss) but he was the difference maker today.

More feared than Mbappe, Griezmann, Coman, Dembele?

You're nuts if you don't think he's on Mbappe's level. Sterling is currently one of the best players in the world
Absolutely. I can't even think of a handful of players that I can say with confidence are better.

I think so, mainly because I don't think Coman is that good and Dembele needs to show some form at club and international level.

Plus, doesn't Giroud still start for them anyway?

Only crazy people would have him on Mbappe's level. He's become the most overrated player on this forum for reasons im not aware off.

I agree, there is no way Sterling is near Mbappe's level.

He is doing well for city but so is KDB, Aguero and the like. I would like to see him in a team that is not coached by Pep.

People call the England performances Vs quite poor oppositions, but if he does it at the Euros then yes he is up there.

He's a weird one for me. His impact is obviously immense but skill wise I think he still leaves a lot to be desired. His finishing is still really poor, he isn't much of a passer either. I think he benefits hugely from the team he's in in terms of his output. A lot of his goals are put on a plate for him by actual quality players like KDB, the Silva's and Aguero.

Good player but nowhere near world class IMO.

Mane is b
Are you asking me? If so, I wouldn't rate Salah above him. I'd say they're on par. Actually, Salah's overall pay is quite poor. If anything, Mane is better than Salah.
Mane is better than salah. I don’t care about the fact salah has more goals because that fluke season from him was geared towards him being successful. This Liverpool team wouldn’t do much without mane being all over the place

Sterling is the best English player at the moment by a mile.
