I hope we are being linked with a forward like this Kosovan. Hopefully not a bank-breaker but someone who can add goals which is what we really need.

Also, Matic will be gone by next summer it seems, which is even better news if we replace him. If.

If Matic goes we absolutely need at least 2 new midfielders. I mean, we need 2 midfielders anyway regardless of if Matic goes but his departure is going to make our already thin midfield look even thinner. Hopefully Garner starts to get into the first team, we need all the depth we can get.

Gomes won't see the light of day here at this rate. Stories like this will only push him further out of the door.
Even if he makes the first team by end of the season, we still need to buy a 10 if we want to play with one. Can't only have Gomes as the only competent 10 in the squad

United have not been put off pursuing Sancho despite the 19-year-old agreeing a new long-term contract at Dortmund in August. They expect Leicester to value Maddison, 22, at between £70m and £80m.
Other British names on Solskjaer's hit list include Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff, Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson and Stoke defender Nathan Collins.

Nathan Collins would be a great backup for Maguire. Physically powerful and good on the ball. I am not sure about his defending, I havent watched much of him.

Callum Wilson as a backup for ST? Why not? There are not many better striker back-ups who would be willing to come on the bench and provide a backup for them whenever they get injured or tired.

Didn't Sancho just get a payrise? Can't find any source that lists a new end date.

Last Saturday in the second half, Maddison dropped deeper (he still couldn't get rid of McT :))and played more as an 8 than as a 10.
Maybe he can play both positions

One could argue that his defending is fairly important for a defender …..

If Gomes is put off by United being linked with a player in his position - clearly he never will succeed here anyway. I think Gomes understand and accepts that he will be competing with quality fplayers

this british only transfer tactic is a load of BS. i get that we want young, hungry players that won't be swayed by the spanish clubs and the rest, but it's ridiculous to think they can only be british.

You're putting the 'British only' spin on it yourself.

Who would you rather have than Sancho and Maddison?

Sancho and Maddison would be absolutely quality transfers in my opinion.

Would be over the moon if we got them.

Nowhere has it been said that we're only after British players or that we've instigated that as a rule.

It's just at the minute a lot of talented youngsters are British and it's been a long time since that was the case.

i'm just going off that tweet which includes Sancho, Maddison, Longstaff, Wilson and Collins. seems a little coincidental all those targets are all British, and that there are no other quality young players in the entirety of the continent.

Sancho would be my #1 target in any case.

Because he's British?

If the press are to be believed, we signed Bruno in the Summer. They post whatever sells their favourite narrative to gullible readers.

The only thing we know for certain is that we negotiated contracts with De Gea, Dybala, Eriksen, Mejbri, James, Maguire and AWB in the last 4 or 5 months. The British players on that list are their on merit, not on nationality as you would like to insist.

Regardless of Sancho and Madisson, we need a DM. Even if we sign Sancho, Madisson and Messi, we will still be in a dire need of a defensive midfielder

Sancho & Maddison are the two players, I really want. Sancho, especially although that’s most likely going to be dependent on whether we get CL.

Wouldn’t mind Wilson & Collins as backups but I’d prefer John McGinn from Villa over Sean Longstaff who hasn’t looked anything at all great and worth forking out £50M for.

Sancho makes sense, one of the top prospects in Europe. As for Maddison I think we need a DM more than an attacking midfielder, but that obviously can change if Pogba does leave.

I'm not arguing that.

Just saying that they would both be great additions to our squad. However, even if you put those 2 in our team now without an additional defensive midfielder, we'd improve significantly.

Like Dybala and Eriksen?

Are those two refusing to come here because they're not British? Or is there more to it than a simplistic nationalistic spin?
Look, I dont care players nationality and I have no affinity to British players either. We work in a tight budget and we cannot always overpay. Sancho is an elite talent but with Maddison I dont know if he is worth that much. He is vastly overrated here for sure.

He’s literally obsessed with players nationalities and he has a massive pro-English bias. He attempts to incorporate it into a discussion about a whole plethora of players. I wouldn’t even bother it’s just very peculiar.
