Can't really think of any player that resembles him, so for now I'll describe him as one of those big dogs that love running and playing in the garden, but will always knock you over in order to fetch the ball.
Closest for me is Kane.

He doesn't really resemble 1 person in particular at all.

He runs like somebody much smaller than his size suggests which is weird. He accerates really well for somebody with long legs.

His style almost reminds me of a young Torres with a Mandzukic body. Can't wait to see him play at a higher level anyway, Austria for him is a waste of time.

edit: Kane is a good shout actually, just a more active dribbler.

At this point Salzburg is the perfect surrounding for him.

Next step should be United though obviously.

Theres a sequence of personal relationships here that are very helpful IF the club ever decides to make Salzburg an offer for Haaland:

Jim Solbakken is Haalands agent and advisor.

Jim Solbakken is also OGS's best friend. On top of that, Alf Inge Haaland, former Man C player and Braut Haalands dad, has a very good relationship with both OGS and Solbakken. Add that to the fact that the person who both recruited and developed a younger Braut Haaland was the current Manchester United manager, OGS.

So from a relationship standpoint, the only natural place to go for Braut Haaland is Manchester United.

From an everything else standpoint, well that depends on the usual factors, do we qualify for CL (does Haaland care if we don't), does he fit the teams playing style (this point is kinda important, Haaland is not an angel on the ball but man is he fast), will another club outbid us and maybe most importantly, who is the manager next year. If OGS goes, that puts a huge damper on the potential of a move.
Solbakken ain’t Haalands agent.

He has two main advisors/agents and that is Tore Pedersen and his father.

They are also using Raiola as an advisor and his father is still in contact with him.

Big and fast, uses his body and speed to break threw defences. Good first touch for his size. Great teamplayer, knows where his teammates are (5 assits) . After all a clinical finisher! Does not have the best header, but is still useful in the air. He knows how to press and defend.
To compare him is not easy, because not too players with a big body are used to pressing and gegenpressing.
Newest gossip is Barca and Dortmund are interested. But every big club will be sniffing around.
Sounds like Drogba, minus the header?

This is the type of signing we should be making- just before the likes of RB Salzburg get in. To buy him now will cost multiple times more money than this summer. We should be signing him and loaning to the likes of RB for a season. I know that sounds a bit like the Chelsea model but surely worth a gamble on one or two players with excellent potential.

Perhaps not always as simple as Football Manager though!

How much would Salzburg most likely want for him?

I’m guessing between £25M-£30M?

Sorry I am drip reading posts - but is there anything about this guy that might suggest he's not keen on us? And what is the relation he has to us exactly? Just that he's norweigen?

Nothing.

We're literally making shit up to convince ourselves he's signing/not signing for us just because he's young, Norwegian and our striking options looks limited.

Do not want if Raiola is involved

Oh right. Rashford is not our main striker. Guess that means we don't need any reinforcements in the CF department.
Not the biggest issue with Martial and Greenwood compared to most other positions on the pitch.

And Håland still got a number of areas he must improve upon, and he will not improve by joining our club and training environment. Better for him (and the future of the norwegian national team) to go to a club where he will start and with better coaches/training. Then, when he has become a more complete footballer in 2/3 years time we can buy him.

Question is...do we have a spot to develop another youngster?

For the free quota we had for strikers, we need a solid, on prime, matured players.

Having Haland means we have 4 young strikers. That has never happened in United history.

Like previously mentioned; Ole brought him to Molde and gave him his debut. Also they still keep in touch. His father even played down the fear that his history with United will hinder any chance of a move.

So excited about this player. Well deserved attention the last few weeks. 17 goals and 5 assists in his 9 official games this season is extraordinary even in a dominant team in a weaker league. He has some extreme qualities in his game besides his physique and finishing abilities as well. He has some of the best off the ball movement and positioning I have seen, always attacking the right spaces, making spaces for himself to recieve the ball in good positions, both on the counters, from crosses and against established defenses. Plays with enormous energy on the pitch and shows good awareness of where he has his teammates at all times. Still far from reaching his full potential, but should already now be ready for the big leagues as a starter. Pure striker unlike any of the forwards we have now (who all seems more comfortable on the flanks). Should be a target for all the biggest clubs already in january if Redbull is willing to cash in already…..

Never ceases to amaze me how the caf overhype the most average player and convince themselves its only a matter of time till they sign for United and become a superstar

Thought I’d share a bit of info (stat) from today’s VG (biggest newspaper in N), in his 8 games for Salzburg he has an xG of 7.06, and has scored 14 goals. He’s scoring at a rate of 1.98. Almost twice as many goals as expected. Let the discussion begin!

That’s without even mentioning his 5 (?) assists.

No one knows how a young player will pan out so you don't over hype any of them and that includes a 19yo playing in the Austrian league .

It is absolutely ridiculous to think he could come to the premiership and be the next Harry Kane which iv seen on this thread .

Some people calling the Austrian Bundesliga a farmer league. It is a small league, the teams are limited, even Salzburg. But WAC beat Gladbach 4:0, LASK won 1:0 against Trondheim. All these teams managed to use their resources well and are competitive.

The Austrian Bundesliga is not as bad as it is discribed and Salzburg is much better then the rest. Players from Salzburg are at top teams from the Bundesliga. Mane became one of the best players in the PL. Keita is fighting for his spot at Liverpool and would walk into Uniteds first 11. Some people have to stop judging players by their league, and start watching football!

Eds arrogance is shared by to many people here. If you see the right talent, you have to buy it. Stop waiting on overpriced established stars, who are motivated by money, start making your own stars again.

P.S.
First United has to find its football identity. Because to see the right talent, you have to know what is right......

Salzburg are an excellent and well run team. Its easy to see how their performance has been getting better over last couple of years. None of the other clubs can match them. Sturm did well couple of years back in the first half of season but couldn't keep up after winter break. Guess that's the closest any other team came recently.

Wolfsberg result was quite unexpected.

To all you who writes his name Håland (oh, look at me, I got the letter å on my keyboard), he’s actually changed his name to Haaland.

Meaning his goal figures are flattering. I would prefer if his xG where 14. The timing for buying him is probably not the best. His xG will regress toward 1.0 with time. It always does.

Messi has a goal/xG of 1,22 in La Liga the past five years. Ronaldo is at 1,02. Kane 1,2. Aguero 1,07.

What really seperate these players is the amount of chances they get. 0,88 per game for Haaland is obviously great.

If you score an average of 1.9 goal pr game in Austria so far this season, 3 goals on your C.L-debut, 9 goals in a U20 World-cup match - you are not a superstar - but you are certainly well placed to be one.
