I used to criticize LVG and Mourinho for not giving him more chances. Now I see why that was the case.

I would go as far to say it was one of his best performances for us yesterday! Problem is, it’s still way below the level we require

He's wasted on the wing, simple as. He's more suited to he a #10 or even a CM, but he's never a winger.

The number of times he calmly passed the ball directly to the feet of their CBs was infuriating. Yes, Rashford is making a poor run in behind their two CBs even though he doesn't have 200m of pitch to work with, but that doesn't mean you have to try the pass.

And if you do have to try the pass, do a better job at it FFS!

he is like a lesser version of mkhi. Mkhi would be invisible 90 percent of time and then have his moments. Pereira is invisible even more with less moments.

Should be used centrally or not at all. Won't do worse than the waste of oxygen that is Juan Mata.

I think Ole appreciates the amount of work he does for the team.

I'd actually say he's the opposite. He's pretty much everywhere and has plenty of the ball but never has any moments.

The battle of shits between him and lingard.
Nah at least he actually tried to do something with the ball. Lingard looked like he was trying his hardest to stay away from the ball.

His delivery was fine for the most part, not his fault we had little to no movement up front.

More deadwood with too long a contract.
Unfortunately has made poor assessments on the ability of some of these players. Just not god enough.

Yeah he was terrible tonight. It doesn’t help that Ole treats him like a utility man to do a job, he hasn’t got a settled position.

This experiment with him on the right needs to stop. Why is he on the right and Lingard in the middle? He's being unfairly judged because he's always played out of position. Even then he manages to create at least 1 very good chance every match.

He’s on sky now, just said they practiced penalties this week. I see positives and negatives in that considering the oppo

Not his position. He's not great anywhere, but he's far better in the centre of the pitch.

The 16 year old kid was free to roam in knowing Pereira was never going to track him.

Expecting him to be God-like is a pretty high bar to set to be fair, if he'd just been good that would've been enough for me.

This is the first time in a while and second time in his career he has had a run of games. I may be eating my words but i want to judge him after another 10 or 15 games because i have seen a improvement in him over the last few weeks. Tends to stay on his feet, has more strength, runs more more, less stray passes and his cross is getting better. The only issue that still remain is he seems to do all the above better but appear like he is not doing anything. I also think he is not a winger. I am not saying he will be class but i think he has the makings of a good squad player one day for us. Remember, KDB and Salah, both matured later in there careers and i think the same of Andreas. More minutes and he could develop well.

I'm okay with him, he runs his bollocks off and creates some chances. It's the likes of Lingard that hides from the ball all game and doesn't add anything that I detest.

Regardless both should be nowhere near a United shirt.

Horrible in the first half, but lifted his game towards the end. He is strongest when he can face goal and run towards their defence. On a good day. But overall, United need a new midfield.

Agree Lingard hides from ball and that is sign of a bang average player albeit a smart one masking his lack of skills and earning millions from united.

Pretty much my stance on him. I also feel Pereira can go up a level or two and maybe be a late developer, and if not then at least he offers flexibility as a sub due to him playing a few different positions. Lingard has reached his peak level at the same time he has been found out as a right winger and can now only ever play as the "hiding 10".

His problem is how often he loses possession/gets tackled. He has a good moment in him every now and again but he's nowhere near the level required when he gets dispossessed so easily and regularly.

Literally on what basis does Ole rate this guy on? He has never done anything of note.

He has some skill for sure and was better from left. That's it.

He was ok, works hard, hasn't really produced the quality on the ball he showed the promise of when he was in the youth team.

Truly surprised by how well he did on the left flank. He reminds me of Coutinho with that powerful right foot shot cutting in from the left. Might be good enough for bench after all.

Solskjaer has far more evidence available to him than we do, since he gets to see Andreas perform in training day after day. Does the player want to learn ? Want to improve ? Does he have a problematic ego ? Can he cope with being on the bench some of the time ? Is his recently signed new contract on terms that are favourable to United ?

Pereira is a good age for a professional footballer. He has limited PL experience so it is quite possible he is simply adapting to the demands at this level. He has been used in several different positions; which hasn't helped him learn one particular role. For similar reasons, he is yet to establish a good understanding with his team-mates; Wan-Bissaka is new to the club, Martial is now our central striker but got injured after 3 games, both Lingard and Mata have played in the number 10 role.

As for the positive signs: his goal against Southampton last spring, a super cross in the same game, the assist for Martial's goal against Chelsea this season, his cross for Mata's big chance against West Ham. He works hard on the pitch. I thought he played quite well against Cardiff at the end of last season. Before that, he looked talented in our U21s, was a regular starter at Grenada in La Liga, then earned a loan to Valencia, where he got a fair number of starts. He impressed during LVG's 2nd pre-season tour.

Clearly Andreas needs to contribute more. For the reasons mentioned above, I expect him to improve as he develops an understanding with the key players around him. Even then he may not be good enough. But I think it's a reasonable call from Solskjaer's perspective.

Worth keeping in mind Paul Tomkins' large research study on transfers showed that only 50% were a success. It would have been very difficult to sell Pereira in the summer then find a replacement using only the funds generated by his sale.

We don't know how Solskjaer views him. He may be a stop-gap until we can afford an expensive glamour signing in his position. Or a player to do a job until Greenwood can play wide right on a regular basis.

Can't compare him to lingard. The last two games he has laid guilt edged chances on the plate for his team mates. Rojo during the counter last night and Mata against westham. Would rather have him in the team than Mata or Lingard, not that it says much though.
