Bring on the Saudis. I don't care. Anything is better than watching us die a slow painful death.
Would rather see us relegated than owned by the House of Saud, to be honest — football is not
that important. You name terrible activities in the region, and beyond, and they directly (or indirectly) have a hand in a loooot of them: war crimes in Yemen, tirelessly instilling fear to maintain control over their own people, ethnic cleansing bordering on genocide, fueling military–industrial complexes elsewhere, persecution of religious minorities, crippling the internal freedom of speech and press, throttling people's right to self-determination, promoting brutal punishments for petty offenses, mass human rights violations, abetting religious extremism and stimulating theocracy, fueling tensions in the Gulf (mostly with Iran), exterminating political dissidents or whistle-blowers against their regime, et cetera. Do you still not care?
P.S. I don't like the Glazers, but because United is a very, very valuable entity (roughly
$4 billion according to Forbes) — only a few individuals can acquire it without another leveraged buyout, and a lot of them are awful, terrible people (which is partly how they acquired that much wealth), so be careful what you wish for, especially when dealing with nation states (including those that seem righteous and good on the surface but have a dark underbelly). Selling out on your basic principles of decency out of desperation is how you get tyrants in positions of power. No, thank you!
