Their cricket coverage is still the best around, much as I loathe the company. BT was a horror show when they tried it.
To be fair I don't watch/like cricket (bar the Leach/Stokes wondershow) so can't comment but I'm sure you're right. Either way, their punditry is still utterly abysmal :)

Surprise surprise Charlie's gone for an Arsenal win on Monday

I am laughing already because we have a tale of two bad defences. Man United have one of the best keepers in the world in David de Gea and the most expensive defender in the world in £80m Harry Maguire. They got picked apart against West Ham and were nowhere near to earning anything from the match. Arsenal have five captains supposedly! Let the games begin!

Hector Bellerin played a little bit against Nottingham Forest. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is suspended and though Unai Emery has been cautious about him, I think Bellerin should play. Kieran Tierney should be in, but Rob Holding will miss out I think. Arsenal will play two protectors - to my amazement, Granit Xhaka will still be in, but I would go with Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. I would be happy with Dani Ceballos and then Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It is that easy and simple for Arsenal

On the flip side, who is fit for Manchester United? Marcus Rashford is out; is Anthony Martial ready? If Arsenal can play a more structured game on the counter-attack, I think they will come away with all three points. Man United will try to dominate the midfield with aggression, with Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba. Aubameyang and Pepe had chances against Liverpool at Anfield and if they get these chances against Man United I think they will take them. It will make life easier for Arsenal's defence with Man United's depleted frontline.

Is this the same tosser that predicted City to beat Norwich 6-2? He is just a tad less arrogant than Dean Saunders who is a pisshead. I see quite often in the boozer, alone mostly.

City to beat Norwich 6-2 wasn’t exactly a wild prediction. Norwich were missing their entire defence and virtually everyone expected City to stick 5 past them. Norwich are really open as well so isn’t exactly unreasonable to expect them to score either.

Yeah it's not exactly a mental prediction, I reckon arsenal will put 3 past us and we will be lucky to score.

Aubameyang will have a field day imo.

We were awful at West Ham but we were hardly leaking chances. Picked apart by West Ham are the words of someone who didn't actually watch the game.

At it again with his latest predictions

Arsenal v Wolves
Will Granit Xhaka start, or will he leave the building before the final whistle? He is done in my opinion. The anger that has come out from the Arsenal fans has been there for a long time. They are not asking for Unai Emery's head, but when is he going to get the balance of the team right? He cannot solve the major defensive issues, as that is the reality staring everyone in the face.
am a massive fan of playing Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe, with Dani Ceballos just behind, so they should see Wolves off. These players must start to take the tension off the defenders and produce. I think they will do, while Wolves are still unpredictable in what they want to do and where they are.

Wolves should have won this game last year when they came to the Emirates. If Wolves have a go, they could win this game easily, like 2-0 or 3-0. The crowd are going to be on Arsenal's case, but they will get over the line in this one.

CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-1

Everton v Spurs

This is the game. There is no doubt that Marco Silva is under the most extreme pressure and the only reason he is hanging on is because of his home record. Mauricio Pochettino can take another hit as they are in the Champions League.

They did not play too badly at Liverpool, but the Tottenham issues are in defence and going forward. Does he have the right balance? Does Dele Alli deserve to be in the team? Why is Lucas Moura not playing? Christian Eriksen is a passenger at the moment, so he doesn't belong in the team. There is too much confusion at Tottenham. The manager is not the problem but there is something within.
They have not signed players on longer-term contracts, like Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Danny Rose is an accident waiting to happen, while Serge Aurier has been a disaster. It will be an open game and Silva will pick an attacking team here. It is so hard to predict what will happen to either of these sides.

It's just the weekly bias towards Arsenal vs his thoughts on us and in this case Spurs

If Arsenal won ever game he predicted them to they'd win the league

It’s not like he’s Mark Lawrenson who has predicted Liverpool to have won every game in the last three decades.
I read somewhere that Lawrenson has gone over something like 70 games for Liverpool not to lose in his predictions.

I thought what a bias fecking Scouser, then it hit me, he's not far wrong.

The man gets paid from giving his thoughts. You can't be mad at him for sharing his views. Never understood why people get offended when people give predictions on future games. Also so what if he is biased towards arsenal.....Nothing in his job says he can't have bias.

Loose to Brighton at home? Of course Charlie has Arsenal down to win again regardless

These are two teams in a right mess. I saw more fight from Arsenal at Norwich, but it was a disaster defensively and a crazy team selection from Freddie Ljungberg. West Ham will be up for it, as will Arsenal - they have a chance of catching up and getting back in the top six. A bit of momentum can get you there. They have class up top, but West Ham are not showing a lot at the moment.

I thought Merson used to be so bad but this guy takes it to a whole new level that I find it quite funny how biased he is

I watched this cnut play. His predictions are usually more accurate than his shots. But he did put the ball in the scouser's net so he'll always be loved.

Charlie back with this weeks prediction

I cannot give up on them, but Arsenal can't buy a win at the moment, although it does seem more promising. There is more fight in there, no confidence, but there is a shape and a tendency to go and try to squeeze the ball. Chelsea are good at keeping it, but they have not quite got the balance of attack right. Mesut Ozil is playing better, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still scoring goals and Bukayo Saka has been class at left-back despite being an attacker. You cannot plan for the Bernd Leno howler, but the defence was better but still vulnerable, as were the midfield protectors.

Man Utd are getting good results, while the counter-attack is so dangerous at the Emirates. I am going to stick with Arsenal, as they can get at the full-backs and defence. It seems more pleasant to watch but the table looks awful for Arsenal.

They need a win and it is not about closing the gap to the top four as that is fantasy for them this year. Mikel Arteta started with a draw and a harsh defeat so it is time for them to get a win. Man Utd will be very dangerous on the counter-attack, but Reiss Nelson has been decent, and Arteta could give Nicolas Pepe a start. He may just be ready to come and do something.

Draws at Chelsea and Spurs, only one away defeat in the entire of 2019 (at City) but Sheffield United are no match for Arsenal

Sheffield United may have been drained from going to Manchester City and Liverpool over the festive period, which is no surprise.

They got lucky against West Ham last week, and there was not a comfort zone there where they looked natural and could squeeze the game. They can go and squeeze Arsenal as they take a risk at the back. If they can get at them for 20-25, they might just start to give them doubt.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out and quite rightly, so, there is no debate about that, but Arsenal can adjust. They need more from Nicolas Pepe, but Alexandre Lacazette can turn it around for them and Mikel Arteta can ask him to be in the penalty box more. It was only a draw at Crystal Palace, but they should have had the game won in the first 45 minutes.

Arsenal are only seven points above the drop zone, and I do not see that materialising but they are closer to that than they are to Chelsea. I will go for an Arsenal win, but it will take them some time to break Sheffield United down.

His predictions don't even bother me too much, sometimes he talks a team up to be a favourite and says they could win 3-0, but then predicts arsenal to win anyway.

I just think he's a massive twat, still thinks he's on his early twenties for some reason.

I literally don’t ever hear anything he says. I just sit in astonishment with my jaw on the floor that into his late 50s he still thinks it’s a good idea to be wearing diamond studded earrings.

Take ‘em out Charles.

Very talented player in his time. Fergie would have signed him for Utd had he been appointed earlier and not for Nicholas’ injuries

As a pundit he’s a non entity. Even Merse is more entertaining.

This went well didn’t it. Could get any punter off the street and they’d give a more insightful prediction. He’s a huge bellend and a massive waste of everyone’s time and money. It shouldn’t make me so angry but people like this are getting paid a fortune to be complete useless and embarrassing.

I swear he's doing it just for the thread bumps now

His preview for our game (and semi review of our win over City)

LASK have a good reputation, which is only building. They are a fairly decent side. Again on Saturday, we were talking about Manchester United and whether they had turned a corner. They were vulnerable but Manchester City were so bad, even having so much possession.

They are still a side better suited to being a counter-attacking team. United have competition for places, their defence has improved and there is more momentum building. they have had a kind draw, but it will not be a walk in the park. It will be a score draw.

Compare that to his thoughts on Arsenal who were eliminated by Olympiakos (when predicting the Wolves game)

Olympiakos are unpredictable but they were decent at home to Arsenal for around 45 minutes. Arsenal were so poor at home, but credit to them they kept going and nicked a goal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should have scored to put them out.
