No reason why it can’t happen - United quality of football past 7 years has been that of a relegation candidate team in all honesty it’s just the individual quality of players would see us through.. when the individuals are unable to produce those moments of quality now and again.. you’re going to see the run of results you see now.

Villa for example play a more sophisticated brand of football than United do.

We have been playing crap football. So no reason why we could not be relegated. I think Big Sam is brushing up his suit just in case he gets a call.

I can't believe some 'supporters' are wishing relegation in hope Glazers and Woodward will sell and leave. One, there is no guarantee the Glazers would sell or that Woodward would leave. Two, there is no guarantee any future owners or staff would be any better for the Club.

No, we cannot. This is just silly overreaction, we don’t have enough talent to fight for trophies but we obviously have too much talent to get relegated. Worst case scenario for this team is probably around 10th place.

We won’t get relegated. We’ll pick up more than enough points and probably end up 7th/8th come May.

Wonderful...

Striker in January, and hopefully a midfielder and things will rapidly improve, the return of Martial and Pogba for any length of time would also make a massive difference

Is there any sort of clause in the EPL that says "Manchester can not be relegated"?

Then then answer is yes, we can get relegated. Would we? Slim chance, but the though that there's even a fecking slim chance Manchester United can get relegated in 2020 is already grim as it is

Pogba Shaw and Martial will start to improve results. New manager bounce will do it as well.

The documentary was called 'Too good to go down' as that's what people thought in the 70's, nothings a certainty and who's to say things will improve when injured players come back. If your confidence is shot and management are looking through rose coloured spectacles doesn't matter who's playing...besides Martial's not going to solve the goal scoring problem is he, he's hardly prolific. Pogba doesn't want to be there rest of midfield is either too old and static or too young and static. Ole hasn't a clue about defence, the Tuenzebe decision at Newcastle proved that. Anythings possible....

I can't believe that you couldn't come up with a less exposing nickname.

We'll finish 3rd, or at worst 4th, so stop yer flapping
Did you accidentally tune into the PL years on sky instead of our match, mate?

3rd or 4th? Hahahaha. We won't get close. More likely to finish 3rd or 4th bottom than top with this manager and group of players.

This is surely a WUM but we've amounted 17 points in 17 games under Ole after the new manager bounce wore off. That's almost half a season of shitness which would see us relegated if it continues. Not sure what your prediction is based on but I admire your optimism.

22 points from our last 17 league games (22 from 18 once Liverpool put 5 past us at OT). That kind of form should see us through in about 14th/15th.

It’s unbelievable we are having to even debate this and are in this position. I would say our home games should see us ok but we are very dependent on players not getting injuries as our squad is thread bare and would seem unable to cope.

If Martial and Pogba pick up another long injury where is this talent that's gonna save us? Maguire, WanB and De Gea aren't gonna be able to.

How will some people justify when Martial and Pogba come back and we’re still sh!t?

its almost as if pogba and martial havent been involved at all since last march the way there 'return' is being billed as solving all the problems. all that clamouring for Fred has dried up as well, now that hes actually played and is clearly not the messiah....next off the much better when they are not there train is a certain Jesse Lingard (you heard it here first).

Martial and Pogba coming back won't make an iota of difference. Neither are the type of players who you want for a relegation scrap they're not up for a fight. Hell, Pogba was even ineffective against Rochdale. This kind of situation needs a Keane or Robson, not luxury players who are OK when everything's going well. Kinkladze at City when they were poor in the 90s was an example

Quality wise we should be among top 6. But performance wise we are at 10th-16th.

Its a funny old game
  • Totally possible we'll get relegated if we keep playing like the way we played yesterday. Not one shot on goal! That's not a united team! Those players are stealing a living. No guarantee the glazer's will up sticks and sell if we're relegated. I'm old enough to remember United's last stint in the old division 2 in the 70's and it was one of the most enjoyable years I've ever had as a United fan. United were still the big name in English football. They still had bigger crowds than everyone else and they were still the big headliners of all the sports pages. The current owners will probably still make loadsamoney!

It's been backed in from 250/1 to 80/1 since the Newcastle game

I think we would be fine even without them. We would grind out 45-50 points eventually, would probably make some transfers in January to make sure.

With performances like yesterday and the other clueless stuff we've seen this season its definitely possible. Forget not bouncing back from a defeat, we cannot turn up for any given game when we desperately need to. We are completely out of ideas in attack, scoring 2 goals against any team that sits back looks impossible for us.

We need to be looking at this for what it is, a potential relegation battle, and act swiftly to bring some stability. January cannot come soon enough, this group of players are at their level.

I wasn't alive around the time we got relegated but given how much power is in the hands of the top clubs nowadays its absolutely scandalous that we should find ourselves near the drop zone playing the shittest brand of football imaginable. The glazers have turned us into relegation fodder. The fans can't do anything though or won't do anything to embarass these cnuts like staging a mass walkout of old trafford.

That statement is insanity at this point. There's no evidence at all that it is remotely possible with this group.

We go until its mathematically impossible eh?

I think we'll finish somewhere between 5th and 9th, but it could, conceivably, be worse than that if the injury issues continue the way they are or if we can't find a way to pick the confidence up off the floor. The run after Christmas is tough.
