Seriously impressive striker. He does everything our strikers can't. Tore City a new one today.

Any chance we'd ever be in for him?

He's 28, which makes him prehistoric to some of the posters on here.

Why didn't it work out for him at Benfica?
Maybe didn’t fit the team or league and just was not good enough for a team like benfica. It’s different being a striker for a low level team and for a big club. He was never going to start over Jonas who was a far superior striker then him and he just could never get going at Benfica. Granted he had a short spell of form but it did not last long.

Was the same reason he flopped at atlético. I think being in a small club like Wolves suits him better. He is good on the ball as well but one of those cases where he just does not fit a specific team or league.

He has done a great job at Wolves and arguably will go down as one of the best players to wear a wolves shirt which says more about the club then the player.

He is not United quality and I think fans are just trying to grip at anything new or fresh.

I rated him hugely last season, think he'd have been a good pick up to replace Lukaku.

This season he hasn't quite got going tbh but seems to be warming up now as Wolves are generally.

He's got amazing technique for a big target man. Also, he's one of the best penalty scorers in the world, check his record.

Have to pick this post for everyone to re-read it. He could be a good squad option for United, but falls short if you rely on him to be the main goal scorer.

Here at Benfica he never reached his potential because clubs here defend very deep and narrow and he's a player who prefers to play into space, something that will rarely happen when you play in a big club.
Even when Jonas got injured (and it wasn't a rare thing to happen) he never stepped up, and Seferovic (who is a technically limited player) got the place ahead of him simply because he could play better under pressure.

I like him. Would Wolves players come here though? They're loaded themselves aren't they?

I've been championing this guy for months now. He's the perfect player for the likes of Rashford and Martial to feed off.

Unfortunately he's contracted to a club that doesn't really require money, they'd rip us a new arsehole if we went in for him.

Jonas was insane back then and Benfica played a 4-2-2-2 with 2 inverted false wingers. Without real width and 2 strikers, he wasn't comfortable there at all.

Given how obvious it is we're desperate for players, this is going to happen for whoever we try and sign. Better to be ripped off for players who actually offer us something.

The striker that most reminds me of Firmino. He would be brilliant in our setup rotating with Bobby.

Bnfica used to play with 2 strikers, Jonas, which was something like a 10 and a striker at the same time(allowed to dominate the opponent defenses, especially against weaker teams) and Mitroglou that was a typical striker that is not very mobile but is always in the right place to finish. They were combinating really good for a long time and for that reason, it was hard to compete. But the problem was that he didn't matched the same type of any of the two strikers, cause he was not as good playmaker as Jonas (not even close) nor he could be as clinical as Mitroglou, and our manager didn't managed to put him playing in a favourable system. He was always lost on the field, running to everyplace and not being where he needed to be and I'm not sure if it was bad management of Rui Vitória that didn't corrected him, or he simply lacked a lot of tactical awareness. From time to time he showed that he had quality and was decisive in some moments but never fulfilled his apparent potential.

£50m is my guess but it may be more. He's an excellent striker though.

He would be far and away our best forward. Both when it comes to work rate and effort but obviously talent and technique.

Hey man, I remember him coming on as a sub and scoring some crucial goals during his time at Benfica.
But his lackluster goalscoring record, nationality and age will probably mean he can't do much better than Wolverhampton.

Good player. But we need his younger more prolific version.

Jimenez is a great player but nowhere near the best to wear the shirt miles behind the likes of John richards Derek Doogan etc.

Oh feck! That would be terrible.

Watching it live sent a shiver down my spine, awful noise.

Imo it was reckless from that fuzzy headed idiot.

Why are people saying his career is over? Didn't Chivu and others keep playing? I'm not downplaying it, just geniunly curious

Wow I completely forgot about chivu!

I think Raul will consider it for sure especially if they say he can cause permanent brain damage or something like that if he kept playing.

I feel bad for him and I hope he can make a full recovery and that we see him on the pitch again soon.
