I watched the final 10 minutes and saw a fair few aimless crosses going into the box which seemed so unlike this City side, even when you're up against it. De Bruyne is obviously a huge miss but are players like Mahrez doing enough when they come in?
Mahrez has been very good this season in fairness. I think it's the fact a midfield of gundo, daddy silva and Rodri has no real pace. It has to be too intricate, also none of them are great at beating there man. Too hard to play so intricately against the great wall of wolves. There is no directness there so if you defend the triangle passes its toothless.

Despite his CL exploits sterling has dropped his standard last three or four games and Mahrez was due a poor one after his superb start.

If kdb doesn't play baby silva should always play in midfield (he should have come on for gundo not Mahrez, but he's not 100% mentally, totally his own fault) because we need someone who can take on and run away from a defender in the middle.

We just ran out of ideas with no pace/killer instinct in midfield and became desperate.

There was something a miss with them at the back end of last season aswell but they ground it out in the end. Leicester had their number but a 1 in 1000 strike saved them.

I think they have peaked from their absolute top level under Pep and his selections at Everton suggest he's going all out for the CL this season which may well give you a similar procession to what they themselves had in 2018.
Didn't we win 18 of our last 19 games and the last 15 in a row to win the title. How is that something amiss? We also dominated Leicester in that game, just were wayward with our finishing.

I do agree we may have peaked/be mentally fatigued after last season.

At back end I meant last month or so. Knocked out of the CL by a club that lost the plot, squeezed past Brighton in the FA and I felt watching you against Burnley and Leicester you were far from your best and for me in the latter game I genuinely thought Leicester were going to hold out (or maybe that was my omg Liverpool are actually going to do this paranoia in overdrive).

See this is it. We're being judged to a different standard than other clubs which kind of grinds my gears. We went out of the CL because laporte had 15 bad minutes.

We seem to be the only team who squeeze past teams when we don't beat them 5-0. There seems to be this thing, I hear it with commentators too and this isn't a dig at yourself.

We had 3 times the shots Brighton had, 70% of the ball and they had 2 shots on target in the entire match. it finished 1-0 and we weren't at our best but it was a comfortable 1-0.

If another team wins games with that comfort the media say stuff like brave Brighton but comfortable for Liverpool for example. With us it's city didn't wipe the floor with them so the headline is "poor city edge past Brighton"

Not a dig at yourself but it's something I see a lot, more so with Pep than city to be fair. When his bayern didn't smash teams they got crucified as well despite breaking records for fun.

I know we have insane resources but the expectancy of us winning every game at a canter is something I could ever understand.

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't really think like that. Although this was before he broke all the records I was constantly defending Pep in his first season as it was pretty clear to anyone with eyes that he was building something pretty spectacular but had some faulty parts holding him back (Bravo and the fullbacks).

There's many times you've "only" won by one (like for example against us in 2018) or even drew and I've been in awe of the performance and felt you had total control but I didn't really get the vibe in those games mentioned although as I alluded to above that could well be because I wanted you to win it at the end so natural overthinking struck.
