I was actually reading something on San Marino recently. Apparently they have strict call up rules and they won't consider anyone of San Marino descent who grow up in other countries.

Imagine ROI over last 30 years not using the granny rule. :lol:

Seems a bit of a silly approach when they have no hope of being competitive anytime soon with their present structure. If Scotland are beating you by six you are obviously very very bad.

Was just about to post huge goal in Welsh group as Azerbaijan seemed to score 92nd minute equaliser away to Hungary but it got disallowed.

Russia 4 up in Cyprus which can be a tricky place to win, 13 shots on target aswell.

We are toothless without Memphis. Shame Gini didnt complete his hattrick there.

Also, 2 shots on target against us in the last 2 matches and 2 goals conceded.

Northern Ireland had attacks v Germany in their last home match and could've easily been leading at half time. It was a really good game until Germany scored the first so don't expect anything different v Holland as they'll have to win that for a very slim chance of 2nd.

Maybe, can't say the atmosphere made much of a difference here. We'll see how NI do against us at home. I hope their approach will be more like the Germany home game and less like the away game against us. They definitely have to win it to have any chance of qualifying that's for sure.

This qualification campaign really showed Cherchesov's WC success wasn't a fluke.

In hindsight, Russia's campaign has been excellent especially since some of the old guards retired and some new youngers are blooded in. I had this group as a multiple-way battleground for 2nd spot after the draw was made....yet none of that happened.

Dzyuba is aging like a fine wine. Been on fire with Zenit as well.

Think Northern Ireland could still overtake by beating them and then winning in Germany but that is very very very unlikely.

That'll put them on 18 points. In theory Germany and NI could also end on 18 points in which case it will come down to H2H games between all three teams. But I don't think NI will be getting 18 points.

San Marino have no chance of being competitive either way with just 30k people. For their players it's more just a fun experience and honour to play against some of these top players. And they rather give that honour to someone who's actually from there.
