If you have tried everything and nothing has worked, what on earth do you do next?

How about continuing the rebuild? 3 good signings so far. A few more and we might actually be getting somewhere.

All this about player and managers is all well and good.

What is clear that we lack high quality coaching/ medical/ physio / psychiatrist

Coach - Improve the individuals, improve set pieces
Medical - Fitter, robust squad
psychiatrist - Mentally strong squad.

Why can't we go out and hire the best of those ?

Let's face it, everyone seems to have lots of answers, but no-one seems to have defined a viable solution to United's problems.

There are those who want Ole out, whilst forgetting that not so long ago they were Ole in. There are those want Jose back, less than a year after he was sacked for playing some of the worst football seen at United. There are those who want Pochettino in, yet on current form there is absolutely no evidence that he will do any better than Ole and then there are those who want Allegri in, whose biggest claim to fame is that he was serial winner in a one club league.

We replaced the colossus of Ferguson, with the man supposedly in his image (Moyes), then we replaced the hapless Moyes, with the experienced and worldly-wise Van Gaal. When that failed, we replaced the worldly-wise Van Gaal, with the serial-winner Jose. Then when Jose threatened to turn the club into a laughing stock, we replaced him with Ole, the club legend, who in a strange quirk of fate has now turned the club into a laughing stock.

Like I said, there are lots of easy answers, but no simple solutions. With the rebuild seemingly in tatters and a looming relegation battle on the horizon, where do we go from here?
We're not getting relegated, come off it man!

We just need to be patient. Any other plan or solution is never going to work. Our squads average age is absurdly low and it will be a few years until our players are at their peak. While we wait we add more young players in positions where we are weak and then in a 3-4 years time we will be a very good side.

Or you can try the Mourinho way and buy a bunch of players that are 28-36 and win a League cup and a Europa league and then go back to mediocrity.

Cannot believe this is so hard for people to fathom, there is not a manager in this world that can help our current team to a league title.

We haven’t tried sacking Solskjær and replacing him with someone half competent yet.

You get rid of the guy that tried "everything". I have never seen a CEO make so many shit decisions and survive.
After Sir Matt Busby retired how many managers did the board go through before finding the right one.
Also it’s arguable, especially when we look at how badly Solskjær’s doing, that hiring LVG and Mourinho were not the mistakes. The mistakes were 1) not giving LVG enough time and 2) Not handling Mourinho efficiently, especially when it came to the fall out with Pogba. Maybe the board should have been stronger. Maybe both should have been given a dressing down and clear guidelines.

Strange premise for a thread. Surely, if nothing has worked it must be due to having tried everything.

Each of the managerial hires after Fergie were extremely poor decisions in their own way and they were known to be poor prior to their hires by those who are comprehend what requirements are needed for success.

The terrible choices at manager have been compounded by terrible leadership and disorganization at the board level with a complete lack of vision and planning.

The problem is now that even with the right hire and fixing the organization all deficiencies, it will still take at least a few years to return to the levels expected by the fan base.

Unfortunately, this “recovery” could be delayed indefinitely because it is unclear if the proper restructuring will occur under the current leadership.

Looks like the club has taken the decision to axe The Paddy Crerand Show, have to admit it was becoming far too watered down and only selecting callers who would toe the line.

Find it very ironic the new show is called Kicking Off seeing as that's what most fans were doing on Paddy's show towards the end.

We have restructured both the youth setup and the scouting setup since Sir Alex left. Put a lot of money in it as well. It needs time to settle. A technical director/DoF will probably be the next step. Its the structure of the club that has needed addressing; not necessarily this person or that one. The Mourinho thing set us back two years because he was not interested in contributing to or cooperating with what the club have been building in both respects.

We haven't tried everything though and the club is managed by people with cat reflexes, not actual planning. If I was Woodward I would have waited before appointing Ole and when the car crash came in, I would have gone all in for Pochettino.

Poch might not be the person who will make us a contender in 2 years. But at least, He's proven in PL, has the ability to build a good squad even with limited budget, is among the best available managers (unlike Ole) and then We can continue from there. To finish top 4 with him is way more feasible as He's a way better manager than Ole. The last thing We need is the club to finish outside of the top 4 again. If We finish, let's say 8th or 9th it'll be harder to sign players, harder to bring other good managers in and We're basically going downhill.

We used to think Arsenal were shit for constantly winning the top 4 trophy. Well, We're shittier now and that should tell you where our priority is. Forget about winning the league. The way that some people think (maybe the board included) when Ole was on an unbeaten run was that, If We give him a full season We'll be in the same position (challenging Liverpool and City) because He seems to be a magical worker and understands the club. That is like appointing an accountant just because He's been in the building for 12 years and seems to be able to count, ignoring his actual accountant skills, only when the company is losing money do We start to question 'Oh well, maybe We shouldn't have appointed him?'. Bollocks, how could anyone not see it coming?

In short, No. We haven't tried everything. We have tried a lot of things and most of them were the shittiest possible way if you look at it from the bigger picture (appointing Jose - a short term solution is another).

Also there's always plan sack Woodward. As long as We haven't sacked him, you can't say We have tried everything.
