I really don't like this part:

N: Why do you think it's been a struggle to get the goals that you would expect?

OGS: There's many reasons, but one of them is injuries to Anthony [Martial], who started really well through the middle with Marcus [Rashford] on the left. Creating chances has been a challenge for us with teams dropping deep. It's the fine margins as well.

If you go 1-0 up instead of 1-0 down, when you look at the Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay headers against Newcastle and Arsenal, it's a completely different ball game. But we're practising patterns every single week and when we get the players fit, I'm going to make Marcus and Anthony score those scruffy goals, as that's what I did!
Anyone who thinks Ole actually has a plan to fix our goalscoring woes other than "get Martial fit and hope we have a bit more luck" is going to be severely disappointed.

Ole's is so positive. You'll think he's one game away from leading the team to a treble win.

What do you expect him to say? Prepare a presentation that's understandable without having to be a professional, trained coach and monologue for 15 minutes in the hope that maybe someone on RedCaf Dot Com would be convinced?

So he says the manager has the say, which means he is the reason we have no Striker. Also he seems so happy and talking about January he won’t make it too January.

I actually think Ole believes he’s doing a good job :(

Teams only sit deep for us apparently.

his building Martial up so much. Jury is still out on him being a long term goalscorer. He also says he see’s Rashford primarily as a centre forward, and apparently missing Bailey with injury is a issue.

not confident at all.

That would actually be a really good start. Can you set that up?

Reminds me of LVG's last season where the game plan was give the ball to Martial

As much as I like Martial, pinning our hopes on him like this when his highest Goal scoring total in a PL Season is 11 is very naive.

Good luck with that. If they don't have basic striker instinct by now they'll most likely never have it.

We can't even get the ball into an area where we can score scruffy goals

I worry about this. Tammy Abraham has always scored goals, and seems to have that knack, whereas I don't know about these two. Rooney and Ronaldo became much more clinical as their respective careers progressed, so there is hope.

So many goal scorers improve their instincts as they play many games, with experience they will be picking what runs to make.

Ole reminds me of Margaery Tyrell during the purple wedding. The situation between Tyrion and Joffrey was as tense as can be only for her to point at the cake and say 'look, the pie'. That's what Ole does with kids especially Mason.

Zlatan wasn't prolific scorer too at young age, later he started to score many goals.

His goal against Chelsea was scruffy, I think he's improving his movement for sure.

He talks about luck and fine margins but what about the Chelsea game? If they had scored one of their God knows how many chances in the first half it's a different game. We deserve to be where we are in the table performance wise.

tbf you've got two great men here. One destroyed Valencia while the other is destroying Manchester United. Put Souness in the equation and you've got the football management version of the three horsemen of the apocalypse.

Clownshoes.

David Moyes 2.0

If only Moyes had a Champions League final winner to his name, maybe he would have seen out that six year deal.

He's a walking cliche. It's like he's acting how he thinks a PL manager should act.

So we'll not play shit football and actually score goals once Martial is back?

Phew, thank feck, had me worried for a bit there.

Exactly, this is Manutd and we shouldn't rely on one chance to score. If the opposition keeper has a blinder and makes 5/6 top saves then you can call it luck but 2 headers and 2 penalties.

He is again so deluded thinking he can get this team to play well.

He's been saying that he will train Rashford to score easy goals for 10 months now, and the lad is only getting worse. Martial probably only retains some goalscoring ability because he was injured a lot and hasn't been so thoroughly "coached" by Ole yet.

To be fair to Ole he wanted Lukaku and Sanchez out, but he wanted them replaced. The fact we haven't must have disappointed him and I believe he's under no illusions the squad isn't good enough at the moment. However to avoid criticising the few decent players he does have he feels he has to go into the injuries and the old classics of being interested in adding to the squad, but only 'the right players at the right price'.

I'm in no mood to gild the lily; I have little confidence in Ole's aptitude for the job given how we've performed this season but praising the likes of Martial and Rashford and seeming to pin hopes on them doesn't mean Ole isn't desperate to add quality to this squad.

I don't know why he prefaced that with "when we get players fit"...there have been scruffy chances in the last several games that were met with zero attacking intent. What patterns are they practicing I wonder and why wait to teach Rashford? It's all so so weird.

I am not a fan of Jose bashing everyone but I don't like how deluded Ole sounds in his pressers either. Apparently everything is fine, he is very happy with everyone, we are 1 goal away from winning every match. Sounds utterly deluded like some of our fans.

We went from a negative nancy to a deluded Claude. We need to find a middle path. From experienced to an amateur, from buying Galacticos to picking up hungry British only. So reactionary and naive the board is.

Its too early to judge. Its interesting though that he sets in stone that he as manager has the final say over transfers. Some people here that like the conspiracy that Woodward is playing FM with himself should read it. It was actually a claryfying statement, as to the relation to the scouting system as well.
He basically says nothing much as changed since Sir Alex. Manager Supreme...

You’re right and it is one of many reasons why he is failing so badly. He is so in denial

Eh??

Both Valencia and United were an absolute state before Neville and Ole took over...

I didn't think either were the right appointments for the clubs in their position, but to say either of these 'destroyed' their relative clubs is nonsense.

The line about bringing in some experience in January to help the youngster's, whats the possibility we are in contact with Bale?
