Woodward would have sold his arse to get Neymar here. All the t-shirts and stuffed bears he could sell of him would put our yearly profit margin in a healthy position.

He’d certainly be top 3. Mane, Sterling would be ahead of him for me. And I agree with your post before, on the pitch he is a class act (minus the obvious theatrics).
Mane and Sterling aren't fit to lace Neymar's boots.

Neymar complains about the city of Paris and misses Barcelona's beach and weather, imagine him living in Manchester

If we payed him an absolutely astronomical amount of money, probably 10 times what we gave Sanchez, he might consider settling temporarily in Manchester - for a year or two. We'd also need to pay PSG an absolutely astronomical amount of money on top to get the deal done.

I think it's quite unlikely our current owners would sanction such a ruinous transfer deal.

He'll never agree to come to a team with a current state like us whatever money we pay for him. He's already playing for a team that pays him giga load and have infinite budget or so, so money isn't an issue for him.

Unless City want him at one point, he won't come to England at all imo.

You are possibly right. I guess PSG could be viewed as his 'take the money and temporarily move', and now he wants to move back to Barcelona to fulfil his sporting ambitions while he's still in his prime.

I'm not entirely convinced though that Neymar wouldn't have a price he would accept to come here. I am just sure whatever the magic number is, it is far out of reach for us.

Lets give PSG 100 million plus Pogba, give him 600 k a week, and try to get out of this mess sometime during my life time.

Doubt we'd be interested, even if there was a chance. Probably wouldn't have the 'right mentality' to satisfy our new transfer approach.

whats wrong with his mentality
He wouldn't see us as the pinnacle of football, isn't British and wouldn't run himself into the ground for the club, rather having a professional, world class approach to the game. Ole would hate the sound of that.

At this point no one should care what Ole thinks about anything. The man has us fighting relegation ffs.I've never seen Neymar be unprofessional on a football pitch ever. He always gives his best. He even works hard off the ball.

According to Daniel Taylor in The Athletic, there is a running joke among United staff that if you buy one Brazilian, you have one Brazilian; you buy two, you have two; you buy three, you have a samba party. Taylor goes on to say that it wouldn't be hard to imagine Neymar making the caiparinhas. It's a catchy enough joke, but conveniently ignores the fact that the 2 best teams in the league boast a trio of Brazilians (Fernandinho, Jesus and Ederson for City; Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson for Liverpool.) We just never seem to buy the right Brazilians (the two ultimate Brazil World Cup squad trivia answers, Kleberson and Fred, have both ended up with us.)

With all that being said, I don't think Neymar would be a good fit - the same issues as with Pogba without any of the residual loyalty that I believe Pogba still retains for the club.

Could you imagine him living in Manchester giving his all for Ole and the team? I can’t.

Neymar can’t stay healthy. Plus the baggage that comes with him. He’d run your club to the ground. Look at what he’s doing to psg now. Stay well away from the lad. Let barca take him.

The Athletic had a similar piece recently that we passed on him. Great talent but not worth the drama he would bring. Mbappe on the other hand

Way overpriced for the amount of consistency he shows. Won't leave PSG anyway. Less Balon D'or, more Fall'on Floor.

It’s about time this kid goes looking for novelty in his troubled career. Unlike 2 years ago, I now would fully embrace him at United. We now have Bruno that will slap him around the head if he misbehaves. You’ve also got Marcus, Martial, Greenwood keeping him accountable for his performances as they will provide high competition. He would take it personally to keep outperforming them. You could see how Rashford drove him to perform for PSG every time he played against us - he clearly has respect for this United side. Also Oles man management will sort him out.

Prime age and maturity for him too now.

If he wanted to he’d have been a ballon d’or winner by now. Should never have left that Barca front three, he was already outperforming messi and Suarez during his last season there and on that trajectory he’d have overtaken messi as the most important player there by now.

Instead he threw a strop because his fragile ego couldn’t live in messi’s shade for a year longer, buggered off to an oil state’s PR vehicle to live the good life with a bunch of other egos in a weak league, destroyed his career and he’s now a third of the player he was.

Recipe for ruin.

Besides, Neymar isn't the player he used to be pre-last world cup.

He's not, but he's probably still the second or third best player in the world when he's fit, which is more and more difficult to find. Ligue 1 is very physical and it hasn't been easy for him to manage the injuries, I don't think the Premier league would be any better for him.

Issue has and always will be his fitness concerns. Especially compared to Messi and Suarez, who have been pretty bionic their whole career.

I saw Sky reporting that if Neymar isn’t sold by next Friday, then he automatically gets a new 5 year contract taking him to 2027 on £600k per week.

Not that they are short of money, but PSG have really fecked up there

If that's true, even if PSG gives him away for free, he wouldn't just agree to move if the buying club not matching that 600k wage and contract length. Also the indulgence he command at PSG. Why would he?

Yeah exactly no one is matching those wages. Even the seniors at PSG have been coming out with comments digging out Neymar before next season, probably in the hope he requests to leave. No wonder they are desperate to ship him out. He’s become a Bale problem for PSG now.

They get properly carried away at times. Same with Mbappe. The conditions they are ready to offer are outright crazy.

True they aren’t short of cash, but from a footballing perspective it’s a major clanger. They’ve made it pretty clear that he’s dispensable recently, but Neymar would be absolutely stupid to move with that proposal on the table due to kick in. He could literally sit on his ass for 5 years and do a Bale-esque retirement while being the highest paid player in the world. Not to mention it’s going to be terrible for team morale if their highest earner is not even putting a shift in.
