The idea of spending £100m on Rice terrifies me. Kane isn't happening. The others I'd love to see in a United shirt.

Now I've said that, we'll probably end up with Rice for a £100m and a few other Championship players to add some depth to the squad.
The day we spend £100m on Rice is the day I give up and find another sport to watch.

I wouldn't want us to sign Rice for £5. He really is not very good - the warning signs are there from his performances for England. We don't need another McTominay level player; one is too many as it is.

Rice is one of those players, like McTominay, that - if they were brought through your academy - you'd like in the team because its a bit of a feel-good factor and they haven't cost you anything. It's like a 'good honest addition to the squad' type body on board, if they perform above expectations then all the better (as Rice has done for West Ham and Scott might do here).

But you would never, ever want your club to have spent money on them.

We won't spend that amount on him. And why would we buy a "few other" from the championship?

I have to believe we wouldn't do that deal either. I don't actually have a problem with us signing players from lower leagues, if our scouts can identify some genuine talent. There does need to be a blend of genuine potential and ready-made first team signings.

I read the first post where the guy wrote about why he cancelled his Sky subscription, how BT isn't that great and he's looking forward to streaming services becoming popular in football.

Click on pg. 10 to see some related opinion. It's full of Declan-fecking-Rice. :houllier:

It was related to some unknown plum on Sky Sports saying that we are going to spunk 100m on Rice, thereby further supporting the idea of cancelling Sky Sports subscriptions.

I think it’s been a lot better this season than last and the NBA is coming back soon.
It sorely misses Champions League football though, I don’t have BT Sport (won’t pay for it) so miss out on big games, but can watch them on RTE and Virgin Media so it’s not to bad..

I’m not gonna renew sky sports

I just don’t care about super Monday with the mighty West Ham vs Newcastle anymore.

The only games I watch are our ones, anything else is a waste of time for me. I used to watch the Classico when they had La Liga and Madrid and Barcelona were actually the best teams on the planet.

It’s ridiculous to think that if Man Utd charged £1 a month to all their watchers they’d make about £300million a month. Sky’s greed feckS us as a club. If sky lost the rights to football and clubs individual rings went to a reasonably priced streaming service that would be better for us - not necessary the league as a whole as teams with less fans like Leicester and Manchester City would be dwarfed by Man Utd’s subscribers and henceforth financial power but the way things are now, we are getting priced out of watching our team because that portion of sky’s money is going to matches I just don’t give a feck about.

No point of having either with wwe network around.
Raw and smackdown’s on the network 30 days after broadcast, that’s really the only thing I watch sky for, ( as I go to the Celtic games ) if was not network live or day after, I wouldn’t bother having sky sports.

Its ridiculous because not all the matches are on just sky sports so you need bt sports as well so the cost goes up, rather just stream it, even now tv sky sports day pass went from £5 to £7.99 and now its £10.

My Bt sport app is £9.99 a month i think, maybe even less for all Champions League and Europa with some EPL isnt bad. I wouldn't touch sky prices with a barge pole far too expensive for a souped up freeview.

If you can bring yourself to cancel, and potentially have Sky premium channels stopped for a few weeks, you'll be able to get a good deal to "come back to Sky". They recently offered me everything for £32 a month. I said no, they then called me a week later and offered the lot for £25 a month for 18 months + a one-off £10 admin fee. There's no way I'd be willing to pay full price given how the content I want is now split up across multiple paid providers.

I said potentially lose access to Sky premium channels for a few weeks, because often they'll call you during the 30 day notice period to offer you a great deal. They very rarely offer you a good deal anymore just threatening to cancel, you have to go through and process the cancellation and start the notice period to get the best offers.

I realised recently I had been paying £150.49 a month for sky for the last six months (full package). Rang up, said I was leaving and they came back saying they would offer no less than £130 a month. I said I was still leaving and wouldn’t pay more than £100 a month. Then they came back saying I was a 20 year super premium diamond customer and could do it for £101 a month. I accepted it. Still a lot of money but just shows how much they will shave off the bill if you threaten to leave.

Did Wenger/Arsenal give you that final offer?

In no circumstance is paying £101.00/month a good deal. More so for a 20 year super premium diamond customer.

I just can’t fathom it. If you can afford it great. Regardless of financial situation they’re pulling your pants down (not specifically you!...just collectively) SKY are pulling all our pants down

I tried subscribing to BT earlier this month.

They tried charging me £30 a month which was a 12 month contract.

And then £20 service charge upfront. The cheek of that service charge made me see clearly and told them to feck off (not really, I was polite).

Yes they are having our pants down I don’t disagree, I never said it was a good deal, more a case that one phone call saved me a 1/3 of the monthly cost. I can afford it but I don’t like it. Sadly sky is comfortably the best service in the satellite industry in the uk and unfortunately that is the problem. Personally I accept the rip off fee’s as opposed to having to find streams or other ways around it. If there were better packages or more convenient ones that were cheaper I would welcome it but as it stands it is what it is.

I pay Virgin media £99 a month. That gets me their top broadband and phone package, along with the full Virgin HD TV package (movies, sky/bt sports etc), multi-room and a free sim card that is unlimited calls/texts & 4g internet.

I don't have sky, virgin or bt. I had no idea it was that expensive until I saw this topic. I will stick to Netflix and amazon prime.

I know this is about sky sports, but I have questions about Amazon prime and the Christmas fixtures. How are they going to deal with delay? It won't even be live, it'll always be behind surely?

If you can, go to Virgin Media as they do throw in BT Sports which is ridiculously expensive on the Sky platform. I believe I’m paying around £85 with all sports channels as well as Sky Movies which does have the occasional good watch.
