Avram Grant came 2nd in the Premier League (missed out on the final match day), lost the Champions League Final on penalties, and lost the League Cup Final after extra time to Spurs in 2008. He also lost an FA Cup Final with Portsmouth in 2010 to former club Chelsea, while getting relegated.

Middlesbrough in 96/97 when they had Ravanelli & Juninho playing lost 2 cup finals and got relegated!
Brazil in 1982 is a bit of a tragic one, great side, similar to Holland 1974
