Also, would you consider it snitching if you reported a fellow United supporter for racial abuse?
Anyone who hears this vile shit first hand and doesn't report it can go feck themselves.

I don't give a shit what team you follow, a racist piece of shit is a racist piece of shit and should be booted out of the stadium and never allowed back.

With the news of a supporter from the home section being ejected for racial abuse,

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...al-abuse-during-manchester-united-v-liverpool

Wanted to ask those who go to OT on a regular basis how often they hear racial abuse coming from our fans? Also, would you consider it snitching if you reported a fellow United supporter for racial abuse?
I used to go fairly regularly up until about a year ago and I’ve never seen it to be honest. I’d have no problem reporting if I had though.

Don't go that regularly but I've never heard any racism during any of the games I have been to.

Don't care who it is or who they support. Give them a lifetime ban from the stadium (and all stadiums in the country if possible).

Never heard any, but I wouldn't feel any loyalty to anyone doing so just because we happen to support the same football team.

The old bloke to the left of me had a tendency to make snide comments towards me every so often but it was never overt enough to warrant reporting. I'd usually just roll my eyes and respond with a sarcastic barb. It's easy for folks to rally about reporting every incident but sometimes as a person of colour, it's preferable not to kick up too much of a fuss in the short term because of the long term discomfort that can come with your complaint not being taken seriously enough, especially when you feel grossly outnumbered.

A few seasons back, there was a regular match goer/season ticket holder next to my seat. He always wore a turban - when we scored we’d link each other and celebrate the hell out of it.

That’s the true beauty of football. No matter the language, age, sex or colour - it unites us...like hating the scousers :p

Shame a small few feck it up.

Totally agreed with your zero tolerance stance.

I have a question though: How do you prove someone said something without VDO evidence? Somebody says something, a few people report, (s)he then denies ... surely it becomes he said, she said. And if people are ejected on that basis, surely it's open for abuse: ie: false claims against somebody you just don't like?

Anyone know what the protocol on decision making is to eject a suspect?

I've personally never heard or seen racial behaviour at OT. I'm Punjabi and I have never felt uncomfortable being at United.

They better give the little fecker a life time ban

Never seen racism at OT, I’m Indian. Always felt very comfortable.

I must say though, the amount of ‘murderers’ and ‘the sun was right’ chants was a little uncomfortable.

Never heard anything like this in a good 50-60 games there over the years.

At the end of the day though, although this is a horrible sounding incident, we have 100s of thousands through the gates from all walks of life, so you'll every so often get one idiot.

I guess video analysis could support accusations but I don't know to be honest.

Only once in almost 30yrs going have I heard anything racist

I remember clearly that it was against Bradford City (and a quick Google tells me they were in the PL 1999-2001 so it was 20yrs back), the comments related to the stereotype of Bradford having a large Asian population- the geezer got a few dirty looks but no one would have thought about reporting it back then, I'd hope it would be different today

Ive never heard it on any occasion I’ve been to OT except that slightly uncomfortable Park song, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t expect there to be a few people with racist views in the ground at any one match. And no, it isn’t snitching. It needs cleaning out of life in general let alone football grounds.

Only that Park chant
Yeah, this.

Saw an older guy pick on a couple of asian teenagers a couple of years back when we were queuing to get in. Along the lines of how "their sort" are wasting seats, don't get involved and loads of other shite. Was swiftly told to shut the feck up and he did. Uncomfortable though and I made sure to have a chat with them after that to see if they were ok.

I heard a stereotypical typically ignorant comment towards Ji Sung Park back in the day by some complete brick for a brain idiot. That’s it though in all the years of going.

Never watching United have I heard any and I would report it straight away if I did...

I have in the past at England matches though... and one of the reasons I no longer attend England matches as there are too many idiots at their games.

I should say, after my initial post, that I've never heard anything myself at Old Trafford.

I've heard it. I think it was against Edgar Davids if I remember right, that's how long ago it was. The guy wouldn't stop shouting racist shit. I was only a kid so assumed an adult would do something and it didn't take long for him to get ejected so someone must have reported it.

I'd report it in a heartbeat now.

As for the news reporting this...seems like they're jumping on United being in trouble to me and kicking us while we're down. People get reported for this shit all the time at grounds up and down the country.

Not heard direct racist abuse very often, but you can tell there are undertones. I go home and away FYI

Never heard anything like that, was just saying that to someone after what happened in the England game.

Edit: although I heard the Park chant yesterday. Its not racist to say a South Korean eats dogs, is it?

I saw some nobhead rip one of those 50/50 scarfs off an asian guy and scream "what the f*ck is that", all of his mates were laughing.

I'm pretty sure the guy was a tourist and wasn't harming anyone, some football fans are right bell ends.

Doesn't matter where it is, racism is just simply unacceptable and needs to be reported asap. I'm a Pakistani and I've been on the receiving end of it and it well and truly sucks. There needs to be tougher sanctions.

Were you the guys that always use to sit behind Sir Alex in the dugout? You're virtually famous!
Unfortunately not, no. Haha. But yes you're correct, those guys were/are famous. I was a bit star struck the first time I saw them walking up to OT! Haha

Maybe a bit. Comparing to Scousers implies Koreans are close to sub human.
