The reason this much has come out is down to the Boston Globe. There are some good journalists out there doing a fine job but it’s not hard to believe that influential figures in the media are helping this story to fade.
its one of those storys that should have been on the frontpage of the big newspapers on a regular basis for month and if necessary for years until we know how all of that happened and how all these people were involved with that. Waiting for this to blow over shouldn't have been a viable strategy.

Only if this were an isolated thing, and not a systemic situation. Given the deafening silence it suggests the latter.

It's absolutely crazy really. I fear this is all but dead unless something new and very big comes out to do with it, as if it wasn't big enough in the first place. No one really cares though, and away from the internet I've barely heard anyone mention it.

The pressure from the British government on behalf of the Royal Family to kind of "forget" about this alone must be intense.
I wonder if Prince Harry attacking the press lately, will have the press fight back against the royals. Now I don't agree they should be invading Prince Harry's life and his new family's so much but I do hope the press go after Andrew and I know a few people who've met him and say he's the worst royal.

Some independent media have been putting this into context. MintPressNews I think, a four part series. Pretty extensive digging. But yes, mainstream media is silent, which is part of the story of course.

Channel 4 tomorrow night 10pm: The Prince and the Paedophile

Dispatches investigates the friendship between Prince Andrew and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, as the Prince stands accused of sleeping with a 17-year-old girl supplied by the investor

The Prince and the Peadophile on 4 is absolutely damning of Prince Andrew. I'd love to see his reaction to this.

Usual Royal protocol of deny all allegations, stiff upper lip and business as usual.

Agree it was damning of Andrew, obviously it will all come to nothing but he will have this hanging over him forever and if true then hopefully the piece of shit has many sleepless nights thinking of the consequences of his actions.

I'm not truly anti-royalty but the Crown's response to earlier allegations appalled and disgusted me. This response went something like: 'insolence' & 'ordering that the allegations regarding the Prince be struck from the (court) record'. This is the kind of outraged, horribly arrogant 'How dare you, peasants' reaction which fulled the French Revolution.

Wish the truth would come out. He was too deep into Epstein’s world
To have no connection. That photo alone of him holding that young girl by the lower waist with that Maxwell woman is damning enough in my opinion.

the royals will try bury this.

We've already seen it. The day the papers ran with this story he spent the afternoon handing England the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy.
Sullying a very special moment for England cricket fans (like me). I was disgusted he was basking in that glorious moment.

Thankfully he got shoved aside for the champagne moments and team photographs.

The Royals have already buried it. Scotland Yard had a quick look and said nothing to see here according to the programme.
It may never get proven, but his public perception is in ruins, and as mentioned above, his fear of being proven guilty will make his life miserable.

I can't believe Epstein wouldn't have had a dead man's trigger.
I think that falls under conspiracy theory myths where these things are made out to be more wild and mysterious than they really are.

I think it was 'just' some rich men arranging to see young girls and take advantage of them, knowing (thinking) they're powerful enough to get away with it.

It's a mechanism that is triggered upon the death of a certain person. It could be an agreement he has with his Lawyers that if he died they get access to a safe/vault/file system and they go public with the kompromat he was holding back as blackmail/protection. It could also have been automated, if he didn't enter a combination every day/week/month then the system triggers data distribution to whoever he trusts to act on it.

He supposedly became extremely rich from lots of people suddenly deciding to trust him to invest vast amounts of their money for no apparent reason, so it’s not like blackmail is completely crazy. If he actually was blackmailing super rich people, you’d imagine he’d have to be protecting himself somehow.

Indeed. Epstein was the single point of contact for this racket. That makes it really easy to protect everyone involved
It cerainly makes sense given nothing has come out.

They insulated themselves from everything whilst letting him think he had everything on them (or maybe not even that).

I just know that I'd have some way, especially in this era of information, to get it out if I were holding a bunch of rich, powerful people to ransom and they offed me.

One of his villas was supposedly not immediately raided by the FBI and was left uninspected for a week or something. Sounded awfully convenient at the time.

Marina Hyde:
Guess which royal story is the one that most excites our myopic media

Jeffrey Epstein continues to cast his shadow over Prince Andrew, but somehow it’s Meghan’s choice of decor that gets the press in a froth
If you’ve never heard such rubbish, you will likely boggle even more at the close sources’ more recent tack. Namely, that Andrew only flew to stay with Epstein in New York in 2010 in order to tell him they could no longer be friends. This was the same trip that took place after Epstein had been released from an 18-month jail sentence. This was the same trip where he and Andrew were photographed strolling and chatting together in Central Park, and where Andrew was photographed and filmed grinningly answering the door of Epstein’s mansion to a young woman. Was this the same trip where literary agent John Brockman reported being in the same room as Andrew and Epstein as they received simultaneous foot massages from two young, attractive Russian women? It’s not clear. Even without that, though, you have to think it’s EXACTLY how you too would end a friendship with a Tier-1 sex offender who you knew had recently got out of jail.

Famed pathologist Michael Baden says Jeffrey Epstein’s death was homicide

New York City’s former chief medical examiner insisted Wednesday that Jeffrey Epstein’s death was a homicide.

Dr. Michael Baden was hired by the pedophile’s family to observe his autopsy after he was found hanged in his federal lockup in Manhattan in August.

“I think that the evidence points toward homicide rather than suicide,” Baden insisted on Fox News Wednesday.

He said there were signs of “unusual” activity “from day one” of the autopsy, saying broken bones were “very unusual of suicide and more indicative of homicide strangulation.

“Hanging does not cause these broken bones. Homicide does.”

He also pointed to the supposed “total breakdown in security” around his cell’s, saying it would be “extremely unlikely” that two guards would fall asleep while video cameras were not working.
“This is bizarre,” he said. “It deserves investigation.

“A number of people would have to be involved if this was homicide.”
