Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
I'll check it out!
It's only five lines, can't go wrong.

I really wouldn't worry about the singing, just soak it in. As much as the seats can be tight, people moan about the upkeep, etc, it's still an amazing ground (and my City supporting mate said the same thing) and TV doesn't do the atmosphere/noise justice.

First time, Stretford End, Liverpool.... you couldn't ask for a better game (ideally with a win). It'll be bouncing.

You will have the time of your life, no doubt about it!!! I took one of my lads for his 21st last year. Funnily enough it was in the Stretford End....and vs the Scouse as well if you can believe it. The atmosphere on the day was off the charts! Best I’ve experienced at OT for absolute donkeys years...the place was rocking even despite the result being a nil nil-er.

The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing beforehand at the Tollgate too and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. People must’ve started mega early though because there were a few absolutely battered when we turned up at lunchtime. There’s a tent of sorts attached to the pub at the side and if you get in amongst it there for half an hour, you’ll be buzzing and you’ll have learnt
most of the songs you’ll need by the time you leave for the ground.

Anyway, it will be an amazing experience for you so take it all in and let us know how you get on....

I promise I'll come back to everyone individually but update, I am outside the stadium.

Absolutely blown away and feel about five years old. As a great man once said, "football, bloody hell!"

Nip into town and go to the Sir Ralph Abercrombie or Old Nags Head. Best atmosphere for match days I've experienced in Manchester. The Trafford or bishops blaze will suffice though if you want to stay round OT

Well he is a beer connoisseur. Plenty of others have pointed out the pros and cons of the local pubs. I suppose it’s different for me as I always go with a bunch of mates and we meet beforehand for a few beers at a location where people from afar can park, then get the tram in. Alty, Chorlton, Sale (night matches mainly) and very occasionally the City Centre.

You also do Chorlton a disservice. I can’t think of any parts of London that have such a concentration of decent bars. Familiarity breeds contempt
Chorlton's great and I agree with the bolded.

Ah yes. It’s a brilliant feeling when you’re walking down Sir Matt Busby Way and suddenly see the stadium  Right among those little brick houses as well, imagine living there!

It's amazing. Circled the stadium about eight times now and bumped into Martin Tyler. Taller than I thought!

My brain can't get pregnant!
Buy a half and half scarf and film the match on your phone. Tut and moan at everyone who sings loudly and call the stewards when someone stands up and then you will fit right in.

Now inside the stadium after a quick pint and catch up with @Ødegaard (absolute lad).

Reading the matchday programme, drinking a beer in the suite! This is like an effing dream.

Maybe because of this thread, the stars aligned for me to finally make it to Old Trafford.

I will be flying to London on 30th October until 6th November for a work trip. Filming Malaysian hockey world cup qualifiers.

I'll be going to Manchester for my pilgrimage.

Don't think we took any photos with each other.
MoZF and I had a quick drink before we went our separate way to our respective VIP experiences. Twigg met up with me and my friend after the game. Ate some food at the hotel and talked shit for a few hours before he went home.

In other words, it didn't happen.

I've lived in Chorlton from birth to my 30s - lived in London for 7 years and moved back to Chorlton 11 years ago. I know what i'm talking about.

Also you ignore my actual point. that i told you must pubs in chorlton do not allow football colours. Chorlton has a couple of quality place and lots of just normal run of the mill places. The good bars are particularly not bars for groups of football fans.
Out of all the pubs in chorlton there's only the spready, royal oak, duffys and famous trevor that show football (non of which have anything but run if the mill beer and not worth travelling to). Those directly opposite the tram (brewski, the tap) have a few decent beers but not a spectacular selection and, again, aren't really the 'football' experience this guy said he wanted.

Chorlton is a nice place in the scheme of manchester, but often people get into a bubble and think it's amazing. When really it's just a good place in Manchester. And tbh the vibe of chorlton has changed a lot in the last 5-10 years since media city. The arty and lefty vibe it has always been known for is now being lost to the range rover cnuts.

Not a bad pre match summation. Panicos or Turkish Delight post match?
