This one is really strange because it seems to fool literally everyone apart from the player making the attempt

I’ve watched that second video 5 times- it still doesn’t look like it goes in!!?? Just ends up in the net... does anyone else think that??

2 aside in a park, dude scored an own goal from his own corner. He thought he was going to do a Scholes vs Bradford type thing but his mate ran in the box too early before he took the corner and he ended up kicking the ball in his own net!!

Your sig "Nani is crap, I tell you!" makes this even funnier. :D
I almost forgot it was there tbf. Was a bit of banter back in the day when one of the guys on here decided I'm a Nani hater (was a huge Valencia vs Nani debate) after I'd had the nerve to suggest Valencia may be more suitable for us at times as he was more solid and Nani could be frustrating. (Tony was a pretty good winger back then but Nani was fancier). Later, unsurprisingly, I fought the battle defending Nani against some of those who had ridiculed my take on Valencia and had been bit of Nani lovers before:lol:. Typical Caf, you see. You're either out of this world or useless and you can't rate two players in the same position as it's too hard to comprehend.

Never complained about the tag as it made me smile and took it lightly, knowing it has nothing to do with true. I even said, I think, a couple of months ago that I'd absolutely love to have Nani back NOW, let alone 7 yrs ago. One of my favourite non-old-guard players in recent times, Nani is.

The goal was eventually disallowed, as you can see at the end of the clip. The net was holey (as you can clearly see on a replay, the hole's quite big). Happens a lot on astroturf pitches on an amateur level, shouldn't have happened in a bloody Bundesliga game.

Ball hits the post the moment he crashes into the net.
Yeah I know thats what happens, but i can't see the point where it actually hits the post.

Shit quality probably doesn't help to be fair...

I also thought it might be something to do with the angle, but then all the players aren't looking at it from this angle and they all thought it went in!

Think it's just because they are in line with the sun behind the goal which is low and can be a nightmare for seeing anything when you're playing in those conditions.

But they didn't. All players in the final third of the pitch saw what actually happened. It was only the players furthest away from the goal that got deceived.

The goalie crashing into the net and the ball hitting the post simultaneously causes an optical illusion. They see the ball about to cross the line, then as the ball hits the post their focus is shifted to the moving net. If you're looking at it from a significant distance then the obvious reaction is that the ball hit the net.

Also a few of them are staring right into the low sun, there are big shadows in front of the goal and there's a defender in the line with the ball.
