This is our December fixture list as it stands with Villa added in for the League Cup QF

Wed 4 Everton H
Sat 7 Bournemouth A
Tue 10 Salzburg A
Sat 14 Watford H
Tue 17 Villa A
Wed 18 CWC N
Sat 21 CWC N
West Ham (Postponed due to CWC) A
Thu 26 Leicester A
Sun 29 Wolves H

I've no idea what they'll do but maybe Mon 23rd Dec could work for the Villa match as we both play on the 21st (providing we get to the CWC final) so it would be a fair match all round? Crazy scheduling and the West Ham game still needs to slot in somewhere down the line. The joys of being a successful team again!
Watch them win the lot.

It’s a fabulous position to be in if you ask me. Champions of Europe, want to conquer the world and now the C team has made things complicated after beating Arsenal in a cup competition. What a terrific time to be a Liverpool fan.

They'll either pull Watford back to the Friday and then play the QF against Villa on the Monday before flying out to the Club World Cup, or they will just play the QF in Jan (when the first leg of the semi would normally happen) and end up finding a spare week for the second leg of the semi. Isn't really that big of an issue.

Hence the need to reschedule.

At least six of them (gomez, milner, origi, chamberlain, keita, Lallana).

Brewster and Elliott might go as well, with little chance of featuring.

It's a really bad argument though. It's a first team competition. If the FA said that it's fine to play while the first team are on a plane to dubai since the reserves can play, they might as well just pack in the competition for good.

But we'd simply withdraw if that turns out to be the case.
It'll certainly be interesting how it gets sorted.

Here's to the trip totally ruining your season. :)

It's a piece of piss to reschedule. They have more than two months to find a date.

This is nonsensical.
How many of that squad he put out yesterday would even be in their travelling party?

More than 2?
More than 2, I would guess. Then there is Klopp too, his assistant, all the other coaches, physios and so on. Which will be on another continent during the match.

Of course, they can send their academy team, but that is bullshit. FA should reschedule the match, or Liverpool should withdraw from it as sign of protest.

Protest against what exactly? They knew they were playing the dumb club world cup ages ago. If they didn't think they could cope with League Cup fixtures, they shouldn't have entered the tournament. Threatening to withdraw halfway through is pretty disrespectful to the other teams in the competition.

Seems pretty ridiculous to only bring this up now. The dates have been known since the start of the season and Klopp waits until his team are in the quarter final before bringing it up?

If they thought it was a problem they should have pulled out or sorted arrangements before they played the previous two rounds.

They surely have an obligation to the credibility of the competition to play the game now. Complete lack of respect for every other team in the country to just trounce off halfway through.

Does anyone else feel Arsenal are getting away with a lot of stick for last night? Liverpool put out a complete scratch side, City did a similar thing in the Cup against us a few years ago and we won without even playing well, that should have been minimum requirement for Arsenal last night.

They want to be successful yet they complain about the problems that arise from being successful.

This is why you have a squad rather than a team. If Liverpool want to continue in the Carabao cup they can field the under 23's and let their under 23's manager manage the team.

I looked at their fixture pile up and it is quite insane

But this is England so what do you expect. Klopp needs to man up...

I'm disgusted and appalled and disgusted again by Liverpool's actions, despite not knowing what the f*ck is going on.

Crazy schedule tbf but yeah 23rd looks like the only possible time for this match.

Should have bought a few players in the summer for depth.

On the other hand, last year they had lots of rest mid-season yet lost their most points in those next couple of games didn't they?

They are a set of moaning tarts, I remember the 92 season we came second to Leeds and had to play the 16th, 18th, 20th and 22nd April, got one point from 12 out of those 4 games and lost the league by 4 points and zero sympathy from anyone in the league.

Suck it up buttercups.

We usually drop points after one of Klopp's warm weather training camps. I remember during the 16/17 season where we'd had a three week break including one of those warm weather getaways. We played Leicester who had played twice in the CL.

They beat us comfortably 3-1 and were miles sharper than we were.

Think Pool will just agree to play it and they'll play the kids that don't go to Qatar and accept the defeat.

Just placed a bet on Villa @3.45, can't see anything but a very weakened side, odds should be dropping.

This is how our fixture list currently looks:

Just play it on Wednesday 8th of January, what was supposed to be the the first leg of the semi.

That graphic is slightly confusing/off as the 6th is a Monday and you'll be playing your FA Cup 4rd round match on Sunday the 5th seeing as your match with Sheffield Utd has been scheduled for the Thursday (2nd).

The FA is a joke if they can't reschedule this btw

Might be the strongest argument for scrapping the league cup alltogether, when the FA can't even organize it properly

Against FA being idiots. Same FA who essentially banned us from FA Cup in 1999 to play in the same stupid tournament. Which is still a much more prestigious tournament than the stupid league cup, a tournament no one gives a shit about.

FA should help their most successful teams, not punish them for being successful. Just reschedule the match at some other day and be done with it.

Don't they get the most rest out of everyone over Christmas as usual?
From November 23rd through January 5th we already play 13 games in 6 weeks without including the Villa league cup game. I'd hardly call that "most rest out of everyone". Man City in comparison play 11 games (+ probably a league cup game) in the same timeframe.

Can you imagine Fergie doing that? I can't, but that's why he's the greatest manager ever.
Exactly, we even went on to win both the League Cup and Club World Cup in 2009. Oh, and defend our Premier League title.

You didn't have a game scheduled for a day in which you were supposed to be in a different continent though

feck em, they could have just blazed every penalty into row z last night rather than pull out of the tournament.
