If they swapped Rice for a better midfielder and added Haaland then I'd be delighted personally.

Rice is not a bad player but definitely someone we could do better than for less money.

A couple of midfielders and Haaland would be great. Sancho is going to be out of our reach and I think he will end up at the Spanish giants, Bayern or Liverpool/City.

Maddison would be great and another ball playing midfielder.

CF: Haaland/Martial
RF: James/Lingard
LF: Rashford/James

AM: Maddison/Pereira/Mata
LCM: Pogba/Fred/Garner
RCM: McTominay/McGinn/Soumare

RB: Wan-Bissaka/Dalot
RCB: Lindelöf/Tuanzebe
LCB: Maguire/Rojo + Bailly
LB: Shaw/Williams

GK: De Gea/Pereira

Gomes, Chong, Greenwood, Henderson amongst other youngsters (Laird, Levitt) should all be loaned out for a whole season to get some minutes playing against men. As for Garner I think the best place for him to develop is right here. I think he is the best of the younglings.

Out:
- Sanchez 10 mil
- Smalling 15 mil
- Jones 15 mil
- Matic 10 mil
- Young free
- Mitchell free

No one is going to buy Bailly as he is always injured so he can be the back of the back up. Five central defenders should do the trick. Mata is not being sold either as he is probably going to get a job in the office after his playing career. Lingard is going to get a new contract, I have no doubt about it.

In:
- Maddison 80 mil
- Haaland 60 mil
- McGinn 50 mil
- Soumare free

Our net spendings would land at 140 mil, which should possible. I dontt think the leftback position needs to be strengthened just yet, lets see if Shaw can stay fit and Williams will have another year to develop. Spending +60 mil on Chilwell now would be insane imo.
Not sure James and Lingard are the best options for RW the latter certainly has no business being a pro footballer

Lingard has to be shipped out. Loan or transfer, just get him far away from here as possible.

I think Pogba will be gone next summer which will free up some extra funds which could maybe be spent towards Sancho.

We won’t get £10M for Matic as he’s going to be a free agent in the summer. He’ll be gone for free.

Zaha for 50 million :)

He's shit

I'd sooner spend that on Darcie glazers mansion as both would have the same impact on improving the squad.
Yet more often than not puts in big performances against the top teams and one of the prime reasons Palace manage to get results against them...Same thing Mane did at Southampton, while being inconsistent against the smaller teams, players like these need a step up.

Zaha has only ever scored 10 in a season, once. Mane did 10 then 15 in consecutive seasons. Zaha hasn't scored a goal this season either, he's so overrated it's strange.

Need someone to run our midfield on the ball, number 1 most important thing.

Nice stat, is that the benchmark? Funny how you missed out the 9 he scored the season before that, also all the assists he gets. And its not a direct comparison i was making. 50m for a proven PL winger, is not expensive. Best case scenario is Lingard can be included in the deal...

Exactly this. We have Fred and McTominay, who are fantastic off the ball. Dynamic and get stuck in, but what we lack is someone to run our midfield, as you quite rightly said.

Question is, who is out there that 1) has the ability 2) is attainable?

Is Ole on some mad quest to replicate the nationalities from the -99 CL winning side? Get all the english talent in, preferably home grown. We already have a swede and a welsh wizard. We're being linked to a norwegian striker in Haaland. We'll be linked with a norwegian centre back soon, maybe Kristoffer Ajer? Ole probably has nightmares about us selling Daley Blind and Lee O'Connor. As we speak we are furiously scouting for an irish player and someone from Trinidad.

Well yeah, double digit goals is a normal benchmark we need for our players. Bear in mind he was playing through the centre. Sorry, he got 5 that year and 3 the year he got 9.

Tbf, I really don't think he's the type of player we should be aiming for. We obviously rate him differently.

I feel he's better off staying a big fish in a small pond, he's decent but not great. At any rate I don't see him wanting to come back after his first spell at the club.

If we can get him at a cut price then we could do worse than Zaha, but hopefully we are setting our sights higher.
