I don't care how the ball goes in the net, I just want to see us threatening teams without looking vulnerable on the counter.

Defending from set-pieces is a bit shoddy, but that's my only complaint today.

Fred continuing his good form? Fantastic news. Hopefully he gets even better

Brighton player thinks Williams pushed him. He kind of did, lightly.
Looked like he just touched him to control his own descending pace, but I could be biased :p Its great that he gets under his skin regardless

Funny thing is, we're not playing particularly well. It's all a bit scrappy, a little too passive sometimes, just waiting for opportunities to counter.

Also, football fans really overdo the complaining about refs. Moss has been fine, got every single major call right.

Solid game, have to avoid giving away free kicks as our defending of those is the only negative from that half. Williams needs to settle a little, his aggression is good to see but they are looking to exploit the space he leaves.

I want to see Fred Mctominay with Pogba as the 10.

I'm hoping that happens next month.
Me too. That would be nice. Imagine if we could recreate a semblance of the midfield that started Ole's reign? We would be well on our way then.

Decent half, need Martial and James to smash in some goals.

Very happy with the first half. Besides set-pieces we’re in total control. With Pogba in instead of Pereira we’d probably be leading 4-0.

Not an amazing performance, but solid, and the lead is deserved. Id be happy with more of the same 2nd half.

So far so good. A bit lucky on both goal but United were long overdue a bit of luck.

Hopefully a clean sheet is kept and a comfortable 3 points is picked up but I'm concerned about the recent 2nd half fade outs.

John Moss giving them yellow cards for fun. Think James alone has accounted for two Brighton players getting booked.

Martial not at the races today.
I've tried to find a stat for this, but I have a feeling that Daniel James is responsible for more yellow cards than anyone in the EPL so far this season.

People blaming Martial and Rashford involvement, have you guys seen what our midfield is doing. They are being let down, starving from both services and the ball actually being brought up to them by our midfield.
They are getting plenty of the ball.

Ofcourse people are complaining about Martial again but what is Martial supposed to do?

He hardly gets the ball.. a number 9 needs a team to help him play well but he isnt getting any help.

HT - MUFC 2-0 BHAFCKEY EVENT
    Half-time player ratings
De Gea - Hardly anything to do. 6

    Wan-Bissaka - Secure and got forward. 7

Maguire - Assisted the second. 7

Lindelof - Back on form. 7

Williams - An assured half. 7

McTominay - Forced the second goal. 7

    Fred - Fantastic. 8

Pereira - First goal since March. 7

James - Best player on the pitch. 8

    Rashford - Tested Ryan. 6

Martial - Set up Pereira. 7

Cannot disagree except for i would have martial as 6 and rashford as 7. Martial has barely touched the ball and jogged around for 45 mins. Rashford is getting in space and has had a few chances.

If we bring Martial on for the second half we could score a couple more today.

This game has been pretty mediocre. We aren't playing well and our midfield is once again putting in an average performance which in turn affect everyone else

Good half from us. Goals were little scrappy but that's what we were missing. We cannot play like Norwich every single game. The good thing is that the intent is there and pressing is good. Brighton hardly had a chance.

I disagree. Moving is good, intensity is good, pressing is good. We could be better, but we are looking very dangerous while giving very little away.

Very good first half from every United player on the pitch. Maguire looking much better, Mctominay dominating, James being a nuisance.

Can't see Brighton scoring from anything other than a set piece. Have been surprised because they've played into our hands when anyone should know by now you beat this United team by parking the bus and countering.

I think we are pressing well. We seem to have a system.

Martial not been making intelligent runs so consequently getting crowded out. When playing with pacy wide players the no. 9 needs to hang back and run on to balls as defenders track back. There are goals for him this game if we continue play with the same tempo sec half.

Agreed. They’ve been making excellent runs for each other. For once the commentators here are catching the small details while half the caf seems to miss it.

pereira doesnt linkup with anyone ever. I think he's just been okay so far. needs to be more of a playmaker rather than a shoot on sight tyoe of player. He also never picks a pass.

exactly. People are gonna complain about his involvement yet they don't stop to think why he isn't involved much. The midfield can't bring the ball forward and as a striker you are left striving.
