Such a bonus for Ole to have him as an option and pushing others for starts. Saves us a transfer in the summer. I assume he can play on the right too?
He can but we also have Dalot and Laird who can come in at RB, I'd love to see Laird come in and have a bright impact like Williams has had, he's got all the makings of a brilliant RB.

How long is Young out for?
He was only banned yesterday for 5 yellows.

AWB hasn't done anything to justify losing the RB spot though, its his spot to lose. Then again, if he gets injured, we need an option that isn't Ashley Young.

We have Europa League games and we have already qualified. Laird should get a look in considering Wan Bisaka is playing almost all game and Dalot never seems to be fit.

Where even is Dalot, is he out injured again?

Couldn't be more happy for Williams, like McTominay he bleeds United. He was one of my favourite players down in the youth team, he's managed to keep himself in check so far, naturally wanting to impress, but he certainly had a red card and a fight in him for the U18s/U23s, I imagine we'll see more of that side of him in the heated derbies. I don't think Shaw or Young should automatically get their places back, I think Williams deserves to keep it on merit for the next few games. That MOTM award must mean the world to him.
I still remember his red card against Liverpool in the u18s. It was such a ridiculous lunge but it was still brilliant. I love his passion.

I fully expect the EL squad in the last 2 matches to be a mix between benchwarmers and kids, there is 0 reason to risk injuries. I just pray that Ole shares the sentiment. We might see Paul Pogba feature as well as part of his matchtraining recovery.

Yeah, it'll make him a quick fan favourite, he and Garner had very nasty sides to them which I couldn't help but love. Say what you want about the results but there's a lot of passion in this team at the moment, Pereira and McTominay particularly stand out in that regard.

We have complained over the years that we do not have enough passion and want to play for the club in the squad. We are now starting to see a few players, including Brandon Williams who have that and clearly want to play for the badge.

Yes I know you need more than just passion some some of these players who play with "passion" are not good enough technically but it's a start and a lot of them are young and will only improve.

I completely agree. The attitude of the squad has improved so much this season. It's such a shame the squad was left so short. A better run of results would mean a completely different mood around the club.

Playing with Rashford and James as the only forwards for most of the season was criminal.

Yeah, while there's no excuse for the bad form the injuries to Pogba and Martial seriously affected us, losing two of your best players with no quality replacements is gonna sting any team. Hopefully it's taught us a valuable lesson in squad building, we got lucky that Williams was so readily able to step up to the first team but if he hadn't then we might be facing the prospect of Young for another season (hopefully the manager sees sense and keeps giving Williams the game time he needs to develop).

Maybe there is some method to our madness of only wanting to sign players who actually want to be here, like you said even if some of them probably aren't going to cut it in the long run it's a very good start to build from. I feel having players like that helps rebuild the connection between the players and the fans, there have been times over the last 6 years where the club and fans seemed so disconnected, having players who love the club as much as the fans helps bridge that gap IMO.

Looks very comfortable with both feet to me. I don't see it as a weakness as all.

Really has a good engine, tenacious, good on the ball and his positioning looks pretty good. I've never seen him in the youth teams so don't want to get too excited by a couple of games. Very impressive indeed so far though. From the very small sample size, he looks about as nailed on to make it as possible, at this stage.

Was a little lucky to still be on the pitch after the high foot. There wouldn't have been any complaints for a red card.

Definitely! I think it's the best way going forward if we are to build a squad as buying the so-called "superstar" players have not worked out for us. Like you said, we need to get that connection back between club and fans but at the same time we need to see better performances on the pitch for us fans to be on board and trust this "project". At this moment in time, I believe a lot of the fans fully do not have faith in this project but there are signs of promise and I am willing to stick by it.

However, IMO for it to work, we still need a DoF to oversee transfers and we still need to sign at least 3-4 players with real quality who will improve us, whether it's coming straight into the starting lineup or just giving us more squad depth. They do not have to be superstar names, ideally I would like to avoid them but instead sign players who want to play for our club as they believe they are making the step-up who will improve at United and are not coming just purely for money.

Ole has been great with the kids so far. Not in a LVG "play kids because you've got no options" way. He has deliberately picked out the prospects and has blooded them sensibly. Brandon Williams was picked in the squad for PSG last season (ahead of O'Connor who was more senior).

He's identifying the kids that have the talent and ability to make it and has a clear plan for bringing them through. Not picking Williams because Tyrell Warren and George Tanner got injured. It's great to see.

Need to improve his passing and attacking ability. Defends really well though. Deserves to start the next game over Young.

He has that arrogance about him. Never once looked out of place and not seem to be fazed by the situation. He's a natural

I think his attacking game will come with confidence, he was brilliant going forward for the youth teams. He'll have to get accustomed to the runs his team mates make and our attacking patterns too, I'm sure it'll come with time and experience.

Really enjoy watching him. Looks to have a great future ahead of him. He reminds me of Denis Irwin. Playing left back and naturally right footed

We've lacked these players ever since Fergie. People like Rafael are massively important, having that drive and fire to battle when the match gets tough.

Having lads like these will spread determination and a winning spirit throughout the team. It's infectious.

Based on what we've seen so far he's our #3. He's competing with a washed-up veteran winger and an unfit, unreliable 7/10 player in Luke Shaw. The iron has never been hotter for a youngster to have an opening to exploit and become a first team mainstay.

I don’t support United but Williams looks like a United player, skilled but also hard and aggressive. Time for Shaw to step up as I’ve always thought he felt a bit entitled to his position because he was bought young.

I like that he looks so serious. I like that he likes a tackle. Luke better get his big arse in gear.

Apart from that beautiful goal he was horrendous. Definitely not ready to be playing tough away games in the PL.

He was bullied a bit by a very physical sheffield side and a lenient ref who let the lads play on. But he wasn't that bad. Fantastic goal and attitude to get on with it rather than celebrating his first goal.

Good goal but struggled today. Happy for his goal and looks a good talent though.

Cracking finish but he got taught a lesson today and really struggled. He was pressed and harried in to a few mistakes and I feel like he should have done better at some moments when Sheffield had chances.

Great goal for him, however that wasn't a good performance per the slightest to be totally honest.

He was badly exposed today but managed to keep his head up and didn't shy away. His goal was a cracker and he fully deserves it.
He was being called every name under the sun by certain posters in the match day thread, so it was nice to see him shut them up. It will take time for him to be consistent, but these kinds of matches are incredible for his development.

Super strike for his goal, otherwise awful. Lack of awareness each time a cross comes in, is frightening. He was fast asleep for their big chance from a header prior to their first goal. Left Maguire to deal with two players for their late equalizer, though not a clear error on Williams' part.

He's done really well so far but until his goal, that was a shocking performance.

Struggled defensively- which was because he still hasn't reached physical peak and not because of lack of ability- but did not let his head drop because of that
A fantastic strike on the other end probably sums up his mentality though
