I'm okay. Mine's made of wood. ;)
:D

I just think it's extraordinary for a employer who times his employees to the minute to omit a word like "control" or "anti" there. The way it reads it might as well mean they are to be given the doping stuff before they go abroad or something.

For rich people like these players this is pocket change. It looks obscene coming from our end because that is a months paycheck for some. These guys make that money every 30 minutes.
Assuming these footballers have wages about 100x the average salaryman. A $20k fine would be a $200 equivalent. Its not exactly pocket change to them IMO. Some of them have very expensive lifestyles.

If there's an internal fines list then there must be an external fines list somewhere.

What I react to is that the numbers are set. It would be much more fair to have your fine in relations to your wages.

if you make £150k a week - you could break 3-4 of these a week and financially you wouldnt worry one second. If you are an 18 year old, breaking into the first team making £10K a week - this could suck

To put it in perspective - if you are fined £5K in a month while making £150K a week- that is the equivalent to being fined £25 if you are making £3K a month

£100 would be the equivalent for 3k.

I'd assume these are pretty standard for a top PL club. Jesus christ though, imagine forgetting to turn your phone off and it ringing during a meal. Oops, that just cost me a grand..
500 per minute late for a meeting. I'd have had to sell my house, wife and soul several times over by now..

I am still not sure people here are aware just how much footballers are earning.

Seems about right, the club I worked at had a similar system, not quite as detailed or extreme but the heavy fines for lateness and discipline were there.

What a shame for them, these poor loves have to work between 10 and 2, 4 days a week, then play sport for 90 minutes at the weekend for 200k pw.

How do they cope?

That just makes it more obscene. Football has to be a great example of capitalism out of control. The poor people being stretched more and more to fund more profits and more money that can be spent on paying players.

Interesting. How do top French clubs enforce discipline then?
Weren't some PSG files leaked and Neymar had a bonus for attending meetings with fans, behaving well etc.? Has the same effect as fines, it's just worded differently. You get paid for not breaking the rules, instead of getting fined for breaking them.

That's why it's up to the managers discretion. I'm sure he wouldn't fine a youth player the same as his top earners who you would expect to lead by example.

It's done the other way around, you get bonuses for "good" behavior, which is in reality taken from your base salary, you basically negotiate your wage and then the club divide it in base salary and bonuses, PSG call it "ethical bonuses".

Thank god things aren't being leaked like this from our club. Just the lineups.
Our lineups haven't been leaked in months, whoever the culprit was has either been found out or shipped out.

It should be illegal everywhere. I find it absurd.
These are young guys primarily in their teens/twenties who get paid millions of pounds a year while being showered in adoration by fans. It's a perfect recipe for producing obnoxious egotists who don't listen to anyone. About the only hold clubs have over their behaviour is money/playing time, and playing time isn't an easy thing to ration granularly. Money is the only rational tool the clubs can use to keep their primadonna 'employees' in line.
