Can Trae Young actually turn out even better than Doncic?

Both seem like they will become perennial all-stars, and Atlanta can no longer be ridiculed for the trade. Sacramento on the other hand...
I like Luka more personally but man Trae is just an absolute monster. Dude has ice in his veins and he has limitless range, he is like a Steph Curry child the way he can just rip it from the logo. This Atlanta team will be good in the near future with the right pieces.

Ya Wiseman is a monster in the paint. I agree you guys have Dame already so you don't need a point guard. Do you think Portland would trade CJ?
Should they? Absolutely.

Will they? Never. Not even if we can get Giannis in return, Olshey would absolutely never pull the trigger on that.

Luka will probably be a better basketball player but I prefer Trae now. He's just so fun to watch. He's still a liability on defense but now probably makes that up on offense with his monster performances.

Sacramento drafted for need rather than taking the best player available which is a frequent mistake. I still reckon Bagley will be very good anyway. Suns should not have drafted Ayton either, nobody should have gone over Doncic in that draft.

I dont know why I mean its clearly not worked and I would think its time to put someone else around dame who is a legit stud and move on CJ.

I was surprised you were so high on Portland at the beginning of the season @Sarni. I guess injuries play a role but even still, Whiteside is a huge downgrade over Nurkic. Collins at PF always seemed like a weird fit to me as well. Plus the wing depth is sub-par. Hood can't defend and is undersized against elite SF, and Bazemore is pretty meh as a player. The team seemed reliant on CJ and Dame in a West that is even more competitive than ever. Dame is great, as usual, but CJ seems to be struggling.

Whiteside isn’t supposed to replace Nurkic though, he’s a stop gap signing. I hoped he could play reasonably well until February and then Nurkic should be up to speed and we could trade Whiteside for Love or Griffin.

I thought our roster got better overall but I didn’t really recognize the importance of defense that Harkless and Aminu provided. Collins is a good defender but Hood is undersized and Hezonja can’t really defend that well. Offense should be much, much better than it is though.

It will probably be a struggle to make the playoffs. If we are around .500 two weeks before trade deadline I expect some movement though. Love has been linked with Portland for a long time, he has to leave Cleveland as he doesn’t make sense on that roster and we have salaries to match his deal.

Fair point about Nurkic. I never really thought he'd make it back this season but we'll see.

I still think you'll make playoffs. Gallinari to Portland is what I want. I think he'd be great with CJ and Dame. Defence could be an issue though. However, it's not like Love is great on that end either.

Minor gripe, but no away team should wear "gold" in a Lakers' home game. The Warriors wearing "gold" while the Lakers are wearing purple just looks wrong. I preferred it when the home team wore their classic white/light colors while the away side wore their dark unis.

It's not going to be pretty tonight in the Rivers household.
It was probably easier for him to act that way because his father was the coach. I doubt he'd have trolled like that if Doc wasn't his father. Either way, being angry at Austin is probably low on the list of things he'll be upset about after tonight, especially with the way the Clippers finished the final minutes of the game.

Portland need to move on from CJ if they want to be serious about forming a contender around Dame.

The ref were garbage for both side tonight, but their worst call was the 6th on Bev, I couldn't believe they called that a foul it was just walking.

Yeah, thought it was just a blip at the start of the season, but they shouldn't be losing to Warriors, Kings and now depleted Raptors team at home. They are going on 6 road games (Spurs, Rockets, Bucks among them) and it could look even worse.

Is the only point of putting Lou Williams and Harrell on the bench to make then contenders for the sixth man of the year award? I mean it's ridiculous, one of their 'starters' played 4 minutes last night and another one played 10 minutes. In the meantime Williams played 41 minutes and Harrell played 38. Goes for JaMychal Green as well. They are basically putting starters on the bench just so they can say they have super strong bench.

Still, good team and doesn't matter they lost to Houston. George will be back for the next game and they will run riot from that point onwards.

Okay, maybe Portland are in some trouble.
We have no defence and our coach is trying to ensure it doesn't change. Siakam was 6/18 from the floor when guarded by Little, we were tied in 3rd quarter when Stotts took Little out of the game. Siakam went on a 9/10 FG run. Idiot.

Siakam was 6/18 mainly due to Little and several other defenders doing a good job of defending his mid/long-range jump shots. Once he started entering the paint, Siakam was running riot no matter who matched up with him. He got numerous jump shots in the 4th, but that was when he started racking up points in the paint anyways.

Does Mark Cuban travel with the team on all road games? Or is it just because the game is in NY? Reeks like a sad attempt to be 'one of the boys.'

I can't believe your front office thinks the solution to no defense is to get Melo in

Two things we have struggle with this season more than anything have been passing and defending. So we go out there and sign a player who doesn’t pass and doesn’t defend. Perfect.
