If he’s really struggling for form, maybe January move is possible after all. I suspect we could come close to 100m with add-ons and it could a good deal for all parties.

We need more players in their early prime and not more kids.
He isn’t a kid anymore. Age is irrelevant it’s completely about experience. He’s an international in his 2nd season playing regularly.

Amazing talent. Sign.

Bring him here, been desperate for a quality right winger for about 7 years now.

Please sign with a controlling midfielder and things will start looking better.

People asking for a "quality right winger"...have you not been watching Daniel James play? This kid is good. Really good. Our squad needs depth, but do we pay over 100m for depth, or do people think that Sancho will leapfrog James for that right wing spot? From what I have seen of the two players (which admittedly isn't a lot of Sancho), I'm not so sure he would. Personally, I would rather go find players who want to be here. Players like James who want to help build us back into Champions League contenders, not players like Sancho who don't want to be a part of the rebuild, but rather wait until we are already there...

If Sancho joins United, then your last point is moot. Secondly, Sancho is far more proven than James because this is James' first season in a top league. We don't know whether he'll regress or not. Finally, Sancho is only 19 years old. How much better will he be at age 21? Maybe he regresses, maybe he stays the same. However, time is on his side.

Rumour has it he didn't want to join United because we aren't playing Champions League football. I would rather get a player who wants to be here and will help us get back to where we belong then get a player who won't join us until we are already there...

We need to have two good options for every position, currently our options beyond Martial, Rashford, and James are all poor. If Sancho comes in and plays his best then he will easily be in the first 11. I don't see the harm in James competing and rotating with both Rashford and Sancho, and having a player like him coming off the bench instead of wasters like Lingard or Mata would be a big improvement.

I completely agree. We need more players and better options than what we have. However, I want players who want to be here. Sancho obviously doesn't want to. I would rather we went out and found another "James" than spend 100m on Sancho...

Sancho is simply a level above, with all due respect to James. If he is available you get him and he starts.
If we are where we're supposed to be James is the player you bring on from the bench last 15/20 to play vs tired defenders. Its a squads game and we need better players in our squad. Players like Sancho will help us to get rid of Lingard, Mata etc and I don't think anyone will not want that.

And We need to stop thinking that every player that is above our level might "not want to be here" otherwise we will never get better. I don't quite understand where this insecurity comes from. No-one is forcing them to sign the contract. If our mismanagement makes players want to be somewhere else that's our problem first. But nobody with a sane mind will choose a big move like this without being convinced, it's illogical.

It's not an insecurity. Maybe it was all just a bunch of rubish, but rumour had it in the summer when we were looking at Sancho that he didn't want to sign for us because he wanted Champions League football. If that's true, then I don't want him. I want players who will help take us to where we belong, not decide to finally join us when we are already there...

I do think it's an insecurity. We are talking about a English player and the biggest English club. Maybe he is too good that makes some people think he will leave us in the future probably..

He even plays like him & Willian will need replacing soon.

Oh come on, that's some 'if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best' level bs. The reality is it's unreasonable to expect a player to drop everything to come to United. I don't agree that him not joing last transfer window is indicative of his desire to be here, he is a young player going through a sensitive phase of his development in and in a great environment to do so at Dortmund. Why risk that to join a club without CL football and lots of questions surrounding it? It's not like Dybala where it seems he never really wanted to join, but by all reports Sancho was open to a move but opted against due to lack of CL football.

I don't hold it against him if he had a change of heart due to our lack of CL, and it would be extremely petty and foolish if the club did too. I don't think there is a comparison to James, leaving Swansea in the championship to join United is much different to leaving Dortmund for United. In all, Sancho is one of Europe's top prospects and if he is gettable as soon as January and does want the move this time around we would be stupid not to bring him to the club.

Stop fighting, just sign all of them. And then We'll have the best striker talent pool in the world. Haaland, Sancho, Rashford, James, Martial, Greenwood.

Then We'll never have to worry about being not clinical/having shit wingers anymore. After that, do the same for midfield, sign the young upcoming talents then We'll never have to worry about not being able to pass anymore.

We had Tevez, Berbatov, Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs, Nani and even among those top players you can still order them based on their ability & performances. This ensures us to get the best players to remain and We can still sell the rest for a good amount of money. If They cost us money (We end up selling them for less because They turn out not to be good enough), it's called investment. There's always risk involved.

But it is way way better than just spending money for mediocre or so-so players that are neither young nor with high potential. This is the reason why We're in a loop. Hundreds of millions spent on players like Sancho & Haaland is a clear intent to move forward, high risk, high reward but a couple of 40-50 mills for 'just a bit better than average and not even that young' players is a huge waste of money (see Fred [Jose's season], Rojo, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, etc).

Talents like Hazard, Ronaldo, Bale, Kane is hard to come by. And when They do, you snatch them. They can be a turning point for most football clubs. Being afraid of Martial or James not getting enough games isn't an excuse.

We're only one injury away from having our forward line fecked.

Watzke himself said that a big club from England were after him this last summer, We can assume it was we. I think he would be here at the moment but Dortmund did not want to sell just yet. They were thinking about challenging for the league title, but that is not going to happen.

I personally think that either one of Sancho or Haaland is a must. They are going to be awesome players and if we can’t get either we will speculate for years to come why we did not sign one of them.

We need him here, we can offer the best contract (in the prem) and he gets to play along with Rashford, who seems to be a good friend of his and the the number 7 is vacant for him. We can make him a global superstar which I think is something that is appealing to him.

Based purely on a rumour you heard.

Some rumours say he was more than happy to join, we just didn't want to pay the enormous fee.

Depends on what you believe, but a bit disingenuous to go around saying things as fact when you can't know for sure.

Everything you're saying here is 'if', 'maybe' 'rumour' and yet your previous post says it's 'obvious' he doesn't want to join.

Incredible how easy it is for the media to set people's opinions and have them state it as fact. So many fans read a headline or actually read a full article and without questioning anything they repeat it as fact.

I've not seen or heard anything from Sancho or his camp to suggest he doesn't want to come, nor that he does. Not saying he does but I'm not going to lambast him for an opinion that I have no idea whether he holds or not and is off the back off 'something I saw online a few months ago'.

He's a great talent, I'd absolutely take him here and if he did sign you'd have to assume it's because he wants to be here. If he doesn't, he doesn't sign and we look elsewhere.

Even if the rumour was true, if he does join, then that point is moot still. Why? Because we're not in the CL right now and aren't on course to be there.

Well if he does sign, I hope we don't just give him the #7 and instead let him earn it. We haven't had the best of luck when we just give that number away like we did with Owen, DiMaria, Depay and Sanchez

Considering they've got Pulisic & Hudson-Odoi its doesn't look like a winger would be a priority.

People asking for a "quality right winger"...have you not been watching Daniel James play? This kid is good. Really good. In that case we may as well give on signing top class talent becuase they may not want to be here/ready for the rebuild. We have to have a cap on the quality of player we look for and anyone above that cap would be deemed to good to sign.

I think Sancho is a brilliant young footballer and if he wants to come (I'm not going to assume either way), then we should sign him. Yeah and unless his mentality is wrong based on what I've seen he'd leapfrog our wingers. Regardless, nothing wrong with having multiple options. Our wing options don't need to be just Rashford and James for life or something.

Horrible thought. Hopefully he moved to Spain or Italy if we can't sign him. So much natural talent.
Aye I'll be gutted if he goes there as he seems to have the makings of an excellent player. But I can see that being the sort of transfer Chelsea will go for once their transfer ban has finished. Though I hope he comes here.

If he wants to come, then I will take him. I just don't like this talk about how we "need a right winger" when James is exactly that player. Our front 3 is starting to click now that Martial is back and I think we have more important areas of the pitch to improve on, particularly in the midfield. And if Ole insists on a 4-2-3-1 formation, then it won't matter how much we spend on a winger when we are relying on Perierra, Mata or Lingard for our #10 position...

I'm just not as sure as others that James is 'that player'. He's a good footballer but is enough to turn down Sancho who was downright brilliant last season - where he appeared to be the most gifted the young attacking talent in the game (other tha Mbappe of course)? I don't think so. I'd like to see James achieve great things but he's not an absolute dead cert to be a top player for me. He could reach the top or maybe he'll end up a Hernandez or Park or Fletcher level player? Eventually to match City and Liverpool well need to get those incredibly gifted players ahead of them.

If James turns out to be like Park I will gladly take that. Park was very underrated. Mind you, I think James' ceiling is a lot higher than that. Especially with him playing on the right now. He won't score a lot of goals, but he will get a ton of assists. He should have more now if not for poor finishing...

Hard to put Sancho down as a drad cert in front of James when he has significantly cooled off since Christmas.
Its much more dangerous to risk gambling with what we have and sign a 100m youngster with attitude problems than to let a player who has grabbed the RW by the neck develop even further.
If Sancho can get back to what he was then its worth a look but it looks as if he has ben found out to a certain extent. Kind of like Rice at West Ham.
We need wow performances from Sancho again, those are getting fee and far between judging by whats being posted here.
He just screams Demebele to me and I shouted for his signing as well. Our fanbase has a bad habit of trying to identify world class player from a ridiculously young age and to pay through the nose for them.
You mention Liverpool but how many of Klopps signings were lauded as world class on here? Its how they develop and James strikes me as one of those players

We should just pay the money. He obviously would come here and wants to come. United give the impression we are building something atm which i’ll actually give Woodword some credit. Recruitment is better but now we need to pay serious money.

Sign Haaland too and our attack looking complete for the foreseeable future with strength in depth. Hopefully Pogba stays until the summer at least then we can focus on the midfield...

The possible Pogba money will probs pay for half the players we need anyways if we do sell him so I don’t see any major issues. Midfield will be harder to sort than the attack though imo.

If Pogba does stay I’d like to see him and Gomes at number 10 but it’s a big ‘if’ for both at this point.

This will almost certainly be Pedro’s last season and possibly Willians. Chelsea still has the Hazard money and basically 2 summers worth of transfer budget saved up. A move for Sancho, a great young player in a budding young team makes sense and is totally feasible.

Alot of rumours said he wanted to get back «home» to Manchester? I’d say the bigger chance for starting XI , the bigger status of playing for United, and possible the bigger wages would mean it is 50-50 between us and Chelsea. He clearly idolizes Rashford at least
