something on the RAWK thread got me thinking on how long it would be until United won the league so I've expanded it a bit


so, how many years away until...

Liverpool win the league - 5 month
United win the league - 6 years
Chelsea win the league - 4 years
Arsenal win the league - 12 years
Tottenham win the league - 12 years

City win the CL - 3 years
United win the CL - 10 years
Chelsea win the CL - 5 years
Liverpool win the CL - 2 years

Leeds finish top 4 - 15 years
Newcastle finish top 4 - 10 years
Everton finish top 4 - 8 years

Everything is virtually impossible to predict past a couple of years. If fans had been asked in 1982 when Aston Villa will next win the league they probably all would have said within four years. Any of the clubs listed might never win it again, nothing says anyone is ever due a turn to win.

I have a new one to add, could Leicester win it again some time in the near future?

Everyone at the time thought 2016 was the ultimate one off and they would dive back down never to be seen again, but they've used the exposure as a spring board and have now built a more sustainable team that could stick around the top 4/6.

It's probably too big an ask for them to challenge this year given the strength and determination of Liverpool but if they don't lose too many star players (or replace them well) I wouldn't put it past them having another go.

I think we'll see a total restructure of the game, and maybe the long fated European super league before Arsenal and Tottenham get anywhere near a league win.
