Conti Cup time again, and we're up against the only Championship team in our group. Currently we're top of our group, having defeated City and Everton:
United P2 - 6 points (GD +5)
Birmingham P3 - 6 points (GD +4)
City P3 - 6 points (GD +4)
Everton P2 - 0 points (GD -4)
Leicester P2 - 0 points (GD -9)

The teams only play each other once, so after this we'll just have Birmingham to play. The top two go through to the knockouts. 3 points are a necessity, and as GD may matter we might be on the hunt against Leicester.

I don't think so. I think we're the only club that televises its League Cup matches live - so just on MUTV as far as I know.
That’s a shame. I’ll have to catch the highlights later. Mutv has to go as a cost saving exorcise sadly.

We’ve been pretty dominant so far.. Leicester can’t seem to keep up with the press..

3-0 now

Our fourth goal not spotted by the ref - ball crosses the line but the ref doesn't see it. It would be more upsetting if we weren't three up
I feel bad for Leicester.. You can clearly see the difference in quality

HT and it's 6-1 and it could have been worse for Leicester.

Just wave after wave of attack from us. Six goals scored, but so far none for Jane Ross who's playing up top. This ought to be a good night for her to get her goalscoring habit back, but not yet.

So, United smack Leicester around, end up winning 11-1 and should go through to the knockout stage of the League Cup.

United will top the group (barring a disaster against Birmingham costing us our goal difference!) which will give us a home tie in the first round of the knockouts. City are now in second place having beaten Everton tonight.

No worries
Arnot and Okvist put in some fantastic crosses in from the left. From the first minute their right hand side was in tatters. Those two, and Toone of course, were the stand out players for me.

Yep, that was the squad in action. They've scarcely played this season, and they all came in and played as if they wanted to impress.

Casey has the luxury in the last match that despite it being against a WSL1 team she can give the backups another run out and maybe even one or two of the U21s who are doing well.

I have to say, having seen how a brand new team can play trophy winning football, see a plan on the pitch, that every player buys into. I am very very impressed with what Stoney has done, and I think she has exceeded everybodies expectations with how far she has taken this team in 18 months.

How far would we be away from seeing a female head coach in the mens game? I see so much more pedigree in Stoney than 90% of other British managers.
