It's comedy to think a lot of us thought we'd avoided a disaster "Giving it Giggsy", then still end up with an ex player, with other supposed top managers failing here.

Ok not comedy....

I wonder how much of a hinderance having the likes of Giggs and Carrick as assistant coaches has been too the club. Van Gaal was shackled with Giggs and expected to help groom him as his successor. When Mourinho had his dreadful 3rd season at the club, his long time assistant rui faria had gone after leaving at the of the season when we had finished 2nd and in his place stepped in carrick.

LvG had a bigger staff than most managers during his tenure, Jose always had an ex player at the club as member of his staff. I doubt either of those things had been an issue to either of them.

Yep, that Rui Faria leaving doesn't get the attention it deserves I think. He clearly made a big difference to things.

Although how much difference it'd have done in that third season I don't know, having been denied the right players.

Not really a master is he. Even the Moyes one was better.

It's basic stuff but lots of our players still can't do it. How many years have we moaned about Martial wanting everything to feet and never running in behind his full back? And we have Rashford, not being very good into feet and often making the wrong decisions once he does get it.

Of course not as impressive as listening to Jose etc on this channel, but football is a simple game and he's pretty much summed up wing play in the first video. It's evolved since Giggs day to wide forwards who spend more time playing from out to in and in between full back and centre back but you'll see Salah, Sterling , Mane and the other top guys doing the same things to get on the ball and keep the full back guessing.

If you think Ole's bad, Giggs would have been even worse.

Let's just hope he beats Hungry tomorrow, then he's a Manager taking a team to the European Championship again, so he cannot be that bad, the pool of players he has to pick from is very very small, to get this Welsh team there would be a massive achievement!
He's got 2 or 3 class players in that team that's it, he's got them playing to there best potential, so he can't be that bad, he's still learning his trade, and getting used to it. Perhaps they get England in there group again? Can't see same outcome as last Euros.

I'd take a home win tomorrow 1st. Then another Semi Final after that. Let's just hope !! Big big game for him and Wales.

Meh. The only thing Rui Faria leaving was indicative of was the impending Jose meltdown. Rats, sinking ship, etc.*

*This statement does not reflect my opinion of Rui Faria as a coach or an individual it is simply used for metaphoric value.

I have watched all the Giggs video on that channel. All of them are truly top video worth watching. Especially the one “moving into central midfield”, that one was great. Show how United squad was so great not only because of the manager but also the players understand the game as well.

There is a sad irony to that for sure. Ah well, hope Ole at least makes a solid impact in terms of signings and form of key players (Martial, Rashford etc ) before he goes.

Giggs is just so boring. But I guess that's how you play almost 1000 games for United - not getting worked up about anything.
